For those that use BBC iPlayer and are here because at least one of their forebears were in the HEICS, there is an excellent hour long programme on iPlayer called The Birth Of Empire:The East India Company.

There is an amazing 9 miles of EIC documentation stored in the British Museum archives representing daily activities and records of many thousands of people and almost none of it has yet made the light of day. What a huge potential future genealogical resource that represents.
