Friend (not a cook) had this once. In tins the size of the big milo cans. That's how she made "macaroni cheese".

Eeeewwww.

I was trying to find some last year and could only find it in huge quantities from wholesale suppliers. I was looking for the sort of stuff that comes in the Diamond macaroni cheese boxes. Still looking.....

I would say the stuff in the boxes is made up of chemicals tat end up tasting like cheese? See what the ingredients are on the box which should help. Otherwise make your own if you have a dehydrator or know someone who has. Dry grated cheese and grind to a powder.

I quite often add grated cheese to my bread in breadmaker, but you can almost taste nothing, and the cheese sticks to bucket.
I thought MAYBE a cheese powder would give more flavout.

Try using a full flavoured cheese like Parmesan, Pecorino or Vintage Gouda. Grate them finely.
