#Post

which is the best beef cuts to use. Supermarket mince is either too fatty or too expensive so was thinking of making my own as we go through so much of it!

Thank you so much for this info. Now I know what to stock up on when it's on special or when my friendly neighbour offers me some beef.

I suggest you get clear on what parts of the animal is used for what.

Otherwise you might mince your fillet steaks or other unimaginable things.

Also next time you have a beast slaughtered do what I do: "no sausages at all please" because I do not need soy meal in my food. So ALL leftovers go into mince which usually ends up being 30 to 40 packs :)

Try it next time!

Often rump steak used to be cheaper than the suggested cuts when on special. I used to use that when I made my own mince especially if what I was making didn't require a lot of cooking.
