| Don't buy Watties for corn fritters. I find Oak, Pams, Budget better. korbo - 2017-11-02 21:36:00 |

| Just make you own, buy whole kernal corn in the can and whiz it to desired consistency. That is all it is cheaper too. kara101 - 2017-11-02 23:59:00 |
| I stopped buying it a long time ago after finding the consistency and taste had changed. I used to use it often when it was smooth and creamy. I use only frozen corn now when I make fritters, savouries, etc. letitia - 2017-11-03 00:23:00 |
| I used to like it also... but not now... and I don't have a thing to whizz up my own creamed corn.... it doesn't actually work just cutting the kernals off the cob. you need something to batter the whole kernal around. karlymouse - 2017-11-03 14:00:00 |
| old use by date can dry out Must have a look at mine can i have in the cupboard bobcat_6 - 2017-11-03 16:07:00 |
| Oak creamed corn has always been best. dezzie - 2017-11-04 12:39:00 |
| Always seems curdled to me. Still like in a toasted sandwich though. fxx99 - 2017-11-04 14:36:00 |
| Like to eat it on toast with some grated cheese on top....might have to look at other varieties petal1955 - 2017-11-06 09:39:00 |

| I have not noticed any difference but I do grab the sugar free one. Cant stand Oak, its far too mushy for my liking. holly-rocks - 2017-11-06 19:51:00 |
| The kids were complaining about the watties corn on the cob the other night. It tasted a bit different and we all noticed it. It seemed to have a much stronger taste. Could have been the type of growing season or they are using a different variety. We are having a go at growing our own again here as we grew it several years ago and it was wonderful. strathview - 2017-11-06 21:01:00 |

| maybe check where the ingredients come from, sometimes out of season produce is bought in from overseas. Asparagus is a classic and that's the Watties brand. jennyp2 - 2017-11-07 20:50:00 |

It was a packet of watties frozen corn on the cob. We have tried the vacuum packed too but it wasn't nice enough for the price. My plants are now just under half a metre high so I'm really looking forward to nice corn on the cob later. Its quite a challenge to grow here but it is amazing what can be grown in tunnel houses. 23 | I never buy the creamed corn for fritters. If I have fresh cobs, nuke them, then cut off, whizz 2/3 and add the whole kernels to that. So creamy and tender. Failing fresh corn cobs, I do the same (whiz is same proportions) with a can of whole kernel, or frozen corn. autumnwinds - 2018-11-06 23:26:00 |
| made fritters yesterday with can corn tasted great so did.nt see any difference bobcat_6 - 2018-11-07 09:27:00 |

| I use a can of Oak creamed corn and add a cup of frozen corn kernels to it for my fritters. I defrost for a few minutes before adding to the mix. mercury14 - 2019-07-03 20:01:00 |
