its the adults who sould be vaccinated as they are the ones that carry the virus, all the teachers at my daughters pre school have just been vaccinated and had 2 weeks a/bs as they had a child with it, unfortunately the vaccine is not 100% protection. Watching a baby with whooping cough is dreadfull. so far so good my daughters preschool is now clear.

Yes our Dr said we should get shots ourselves. My other daughter is so sick she can hardly breath and she cannot use an inhaler because her pulse races and she feels even more dizzy. She is the one who had all those heart probelms from that medication a couple of years ago grizzly. I told her to give up work for 6 months. What with doing it all alone, grieving and trying to deal with the court issues over her late husbands family trust it is just too darn much for her to deal with. No wonder her health has packed up she is as skinny as a rake and cannot put weight on.

Just paid 400 to get the brakes fixed on my car plus the 600 a month ago for the cambelt. Also got a new warrant oh yeah forgot about the 200 for the muffler a couple of weeks ago. What is the car worth about 1200. My daughter just bought me another car so I am selling the Honda. It is a special pressie for me and I am very lucky. My kids do spoil me but a car is too much. I am still in shock.

More changes? I just get used to something and they change it grrrr. Got the fright of my life today little J who is nearly 2 was playing on the fully fenced front deck. I was out there and he looked thirsty so I popped inside the ranchslider grabbed his water bottle and went back out 2or 3 secs. He had ridden his bike over to the fence and he must have climbed on top of it because he was perched on the top railing 8 feet from me. I quitely and quickly walked over and grabbed him. My heart was in my mouth the whole time so now his dad has to heighten that fence when he gets home. Unbelievable what that boy can climb. There is quite a drop off that deck. I told his Mum and the Nanny so they don't take their eyes off him. He has no fear and if he hurts himself he shrugs it off. He is so darn cute but he is aging his Nana rapidly lol.

I cannot believe how some companies work. I's company is contracted to lay the fibre optic cable for fast broadband and there is always some conflict or other with traffic management, arborists etc. You can't keep everyone happy all of the time it seems. Well on Wednesday he mentioned there had been a bit of a spat again and they had a later start on Thursday as they had to go to a meeting first. All of the crews, that is, not just the one involved! An hour later he rings me to say they have a WEEKS stand down - not allowed back on the job! Compulsory days leave today and then everyone is doing a 2 day first aid course Monday and Tuesday. THey are hoping someone can do fast talking by Wednesday. Absolutely insane. One person at fault or maybe just a few and we all suffer financially. GGGGGRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Same here you may have one service provider but they don't lay the lines etc, etc. Drives us all crazy. Then they blame the other company for any errors. Glad its Friday. Babysitting tonight. What else is new you may very well say ha ha. I purchased some soap from a lovely trader. I have purchased from her before but this time the parcel was sent when they were doing the Inorganic Collection and I think one of the recyclers( aren't I kind) helped themselves to it out of the letter box. Anyway I contacted the seller and she has just sent me another parcel by courier and will not take payment for it. Isn't she great? I am feeling really guilty about it as I don't want her to lose money. Maybe I should just bank. What do you think?

Had a busy weekend with a great nieces birthday yesterday and a surprise visit in the morning from 2 of I's brother and their wives. They have never visited in the 33 years we have been together. Not a comfortable time, I have to say. Today I made a casserole for easy tea tomorrow night as I have a late meeting, used up the lemons to make lemon honey and planted veges in the glass house.

33 years is a long time grizzly I would have been uncomfortable as well. A had a ball to go to so I had j for the night and M went to my son's. I gave my car to my grandson as he has a sportscar which is no good for taking my greatgrandson and his dog anywhere. He was really pleased and he is selling his sportscar as it is fuel hungry. Little C likes Nana's car too lol. I washed my BMW and it took me back years to my 635 which I sold to help someone to get a deposit for a house. Karma is a wonderful thing.This is a 318 but still a good size boot which as a Nana is really important lol.

My daughter and I are shopping for appliances for the new kitchen she is getting done at the beach. We also have to buy K an outfil for his First Birthday Party he has been invited to outside of the family. He is so excited as his big cousin is invited too. I wanted to make him one but this is special so off to Spotlight we go. These days sometimes it is cheaper to buy lol. Yes my family try to support each other which is very nice. M who is nearly 5 said she had fun with her uncle, aunty and little cousin at her sleepover but she said she had to be very quiet in the morning and it was hard so she tidied her cousin's room at 6. ha ha. She is an early riser just like her nana lol.

Not a great day yesterday, was really please when I finally got home about 7 to find tea ready and smelling wonderful. At some point I actually gave up trying to do my usual Mnday stuff and went with the flow just to get through the day with some level of sanity. LOL. After tea knitted bootees, very therapeutic amnd I'm keeping fingers crossed for today.

It was nice here yesterday. Mowed the lawns and sprayed some weeds with Roundup. My SIL bought this spray months ago to kill the weeds and leave the grass on the banks. Anyway we have this lousy stinking onion weed growing everywhere he sprayed the stuff. I emailed him and told him that after mowing I was sneezing all afternoon and all night. Today I am still going. Ah well thems the breaks as it were. Planted some seeds under glass but a bit nippy today.

The new mini golf course we discovered yesterday is a great find. Such a beautiful morning but it had changed drastically by early afternoon weatherwise. At least the rain has stopped this morning, really hope it warms up for the weekend. Gardening is on my list!

Slept till 9 this morning, got up had breakfast, hoovered and then went back to sleep. Just woke up 30 mins ago lol. Stopped sneezing as well. Feel achy but much rested. Got some more mending to do. M ripped a hole in her new cardi so I mended it by using the hole as the centre for a flower I stitched. Looks great. Daughter was pleased. J is wiggles mad and blankey so I have to sew him up a blankey using some wiggles material he found in the cardboard lol

I am so over all the drama that living here brings. Slightest thing goes wrong at the shop and someone comes running to work for me to rescue them! And then my phone starts. Today it was EQC telling the volunteers that the roof of the shop needs tgo come off!!!! My question was "This minute?" and I went back to my job. Haven't heard anyuthing more so I guess we haven't been closed because we don't meet the new standards. And these school closures are doing my head in! 3 of the main schools that attend our programmes are involved and it looks as if they are going to be the first to be guinea pigs. Worst case scenario I won't have a job within 6 months. After 21 years what will I do then?

OMG grizzly what a day you have had. Chin up girl just try and stay positive. Try to go with the flow girl. You have been in sh---- before and you just rose above it. I just made some bath bombs. They look good hope they dry out ok. I used the essential oils my daughter brought me back from India. Trying to make more chrissy presents. I was sick of feeling sorry for myself so I just grabbed the recipe and went for it. Now my hands are nice and soft too.Bonus lol. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Hugs.

Had some great time in the garden this weekend and even paid my 3 grandsons some pocket money to help pick up the camellia flowers etc off the drive. Still had to do it this morning again though LOL. After all our work last summer reorganising the back gardens it was so easy to reclaim them from winter mess ready for seeds and baby plants. Yippee!

Nice work grizzly. My daughter and I took the kids to the local market and Imanaged to buy some more chrissy presents. My bedroom smells so nice with all the bath bombs. I got some litte net bags from the $2 shop to put them in. Nearly finished a teddy bear long stitch for my youngest grand daughter and also picked up a lovely dress for her today for chrissy as well. By the time I had bought the material and pattern it was cheaper to just buy it. Barbi, strawberry patch, spiderman and Thomas sox were only $4 for 3 prs so all of the youngest children are sorted. I still have to make M's dress but cannot get the right shade of net to go over the satin. I have been looking for months but Spotlight are getting some more colours in this week so fingers crossed. I have a pile of pressies I need to hide but running out of room. I have the glory box full and stuff at the top of my warddrobe but the steel birds are too big to put anywhere. Sigh. I need a bigger place. Lol. My light fitting in the lounge blew and the fitting needs replacing. I am waiting for SIL to come home on Wed. Last night the one remaining light blew and when I tried to replace the bulb a screw dropped out of the fitting so I am not touching that. The Electrician who did the wiring in my cottage is a mate of my SILs. I am not impressed at all. I am off up to the beach for a week on Thursday and my SILs parents are staying in my cottage so it will be fixed on Thursday ha ha.

I can imagine how tiring that will be grizzly. I got up at 4.30 to come up to the beach to babysit little K. My daughter left at 6. The builder is here so Nana is on guard duty. lol. I will be knackered when I go home at 8 tonight. 12 hours shifts for Midwives are hard. She is lucky to get a break for lunch and sometimes does not even get that. They are always running. Raining here. My daughters new clothes line has the fittings threaded and they are supposed to fix it like yesterday duh I will be ringing them too and giving them a piece of my mind ha ha. $800 and broken in a fortnight. Hopeless.

i have been waiting 3 weeks for them to finish my repairs, they said Thursday Friday last week, then Tueasday Wednesday this week, well Tuesdays gone lets see what happens tomorrow. Working all week so wont be ahere to see them and get them to look at other things i want sorting, guess i will have to text the builder.

I made some Lemon Honey yesterday and cut all the citrus fruit up for the Marmalade which I soaked overnight. I also made some Bath salts and put them in pretty jars. Went to the Bin Inn up at Orewa and the rock salt, epsom salts and sea salt was very reasonable. Made the marmalade today and then baked all the cookies for little J's 2nd Birthday Party on Saturday. I have the cake to cook in the morning. I have been so busy mending another of M's dresses ( she jumped on the bouncy castle in her princess dress and tore all the net sigh), cleaning the car, packing my bag, trying to remember everything is hard lol. Then of course I will have to change my sheets in the morning for the In Laws and tear around with the hoover, mop and duster,etc. Ha ha

Hi Girls, I am fine, I have been so slack plus had asthma and a chest infection. I had my colomnoscopy last week so am waiting for the results. I have been knitting like crazy this week as a friend had asked me to bring my knitting to the home and garden show as she does not have enough stock. She makes the best bibs, about 3 different types plus blankets, hats plus heaps more, all sewing so we should have fun. I will have to spend some time catching up on all the messages later, have a great day, Jo

My daughter has this huge skip on the front lawn so we spent the morning putting all the building gear that has been pulled out of her house. Got to trim the trees, etc to put in on Sunday but tomorrow my daughter is out to work and we are off to J's Party. I am crocheting M a cotton top for the summer. She wants it like her blanket.

L5 has spent the night but he is off soon with his parents to visit friends in Ashburton to watch Bathurst on tv for the day. Mind you Mum and Dad partied last night and they haven't arrived yet. LOL. We have spent the last half hour printing off giraffe pictures for him to take with him to colour in. He is giraffe mad! Had to do some Dora ones for his friend that he is going to see as well. There goes my paper supply. Yesterday he painted a plaster gnome for his Dad's garden so he has had quite a crafty weekend.

That is great grizzly. Crafts are so much fun for the children. I have plastic containers of craft supplies and I buy cheap canvas when I can. They all love painting so the paint is used up before it sets into concrete which is fine by me. I even keep aprons for that work. My kids say it looks like a op shop but my grandchildren like it. lol. We have worked with plaster casts as well but the kids are so impatient to paint before they dry. ha ha. Had a fantastic party yesterday. My daughter shaped the cake into a Winnie the Poo and J loved it. My youngest granddaughter was a little Bat girl. She was sooooo cute. We had witches, ghosts, fairies and little devils. It was great fun. The house was decorated for the event with scary things all around. Even the cookies had spider web icing on them. Miss M did that and she was so proud. lol. Today my daughter and I finished cleaning out her vege gardens and the skip is full. We will have to do trailer loads for awhile as we prune more sigh. It looks so much better.

Yes it is ha ha. Today I am taking it easy. Every muscle in my body is aware lol. Still up at the beach and it is very windy. Cold as well. My daughter has heaps of lemons on her tree so I will be going home laden. Hope my visitors are watering my seeds. I left them a note with instructions ha ha. We have a wedding to go to at the weekend and I am not keen at all but it is a duty thing. Aren't I mean.

Sooooo nice. lol. Went to the Bin Inn for more supplies and then the op shops for corked jars. Only got 3. Mind you still one shop to go to. Orewa has 5 op shops. Have to leave to pick up K in an hour so I just might meander out again while the going is good.

I have just got back from running errands for work (and yes I'm doing this at work LOL) and a 4.3 hit while I was in the bank. It was everyone screaming that did for me, I was shaking when I got back to the car which was parked safely away from being stuck anywhere again. If I had been in my office would have probably thought it was just a big truck going past as usual. And no-one screams here when we get a shacke here.

i must have been in the car on the way to the supermarket, didn't feel a thing . although i did feel a little shake earlier, shook the things on my dressing table , wonder if that was it, can't remember what time i went groceries, was after i took dog for a walk, it wasn't very big here though so can't have been it . Hate it when people scream, just what is the point of screaming................. hysteria. Feel for you Grizzly i know how you are and it would have been awfull for you .
