What an awful situation! I thought J was one of your grandchildren to start with. Poor J. What a fright he must have got.
It's our wedding anniversary today. 32 years! Not bad, eh? Going out for dinner and he's embarrassed the hell out of me putting a message on facebook.LOL.

Congrats on your anniversary grizzly. J is feeling ok. He even went into the house and laid on M's bed. She was stoked and patted him for ages. He is back in the cottage now though. Lol. T went for her court case and the Adjudicator will let them know in writting. I thought she was awfully brave because the Builder was a nasty sod. Plumber still trying to locate her leak might be under the house which has a concrete floor sigh. Council may reduce her bill so fingers crossed. M passed her interview and has been offered a place at the private school so that is great. J and K went to Mainly Music today and had a ball so things are very positive today. Ha ha.

Thank goodness J is ok, makerealbany.
We had a lovely dinner last night despite the company that's laying fibre optic cable behind the restaurant blowing the power cable the day before and then the gas line yesterday afternoon! Must have fixed things pretty quick, thank goodness.

Glad you enjoyed your dinner date grizzly. I forgot a grandson's birthday yesterday so will have to grovel tonight when I ring. It is my eldest grandson's birthday today as well. July, August ,Dec and Jan are my worst months. Multiple birthdays. lol

How are you and the family smartgirl/ Keeping well I hope.

4806

My whole family's birthdays are between mid March to Mid August then there is me in November. Always the odd one out. LOL.
I have the day off today. PLans are to get out in the garden once it defosts enough and maybe do some sewing for a change. And of course there is always housework.

grizzly4 - 2012-07-27 07:49:00
4807

Yes there is always housework. Off to do some browsing in the Mall and then a visit to my granddaughter. My son has decided I only need an Ipad or whatever they are called. He has checked and I can print on it as I have my wireless printer so he will come over and hook it up when he has the time. I wanted a desktopbut he says I have to move into this Century. Cheeky bugger.

LOL. Kids always think they know best! Daughter has given I. a Smartphone despite me saying we can only afford the plans we have on our current phones. Her answer: " So don't use the internet". My reply : " So whats the point!"

Exactly grizzly. Darn kids Lol. I did some mending today and the machine needed dusting before I could use it. Ha ha. Poor neglected thing. Went to the Library with Miss 4 and then popped into see Bubs again. We saw her yesterday but she is sitting up now and developing a personality. M adores little E. A cooked us a lovely roast dinner tonight. The garbage bags are out on the road, all animals fed and run so its relaxation time. Yippee. It is pouring again so what else is new? Ha ha.

Looks like it's rain for us most of the week down here. Sure hope it clears so I can finish the gardens off next weekend. I am enjoying watching the games, too, especially the equestrian and the rowing. Unfortunately we have our AGM at work tonight so won't be able to catch up with the highlights tonight.

grizzly4 - 2012-07-30 07:10:00
4811

Yes Like you I am also enjoying the Olympics. I always do ha ha. I was transfering water from one tank to the next and I could have rowed a boat thru the lower paddock. It is too wet for me to garden. The gardens are like bogs. Cooked a Thai Curry for tea and boy was it hot? My daughter liked it. I had to dilute mine with more coconut milk and rice. I do not miss AGMs grizzly. Lol.

I do not enjoy going out at night at all unless it's close to home. If the detours change during the day it's a nightmare to find a way back home let alone doing it in the dark. It will be interesting how many roads that have been 'fixed' sink again with all this rain. Sigh. Won't be good for Suzy with a house full of contractors in this weather. How are your pets coping with all the strange people, Suzy?

grizzly4 - 2012-07-31 07:20:00
4813

Yikes I feel for you grizzly. I hate detours at night. They always fix the motorway at night and I have been caught several times coming back into Auckland and have to turn off and go miles in the dark. It is scary espeicially when I have no idea where I am. I just follow the signs and hope for the best. Lol. Contractors in this weather would be diabolical.

We are making bird baths at the Women's Group this morning! They are made from terracotta pots with a large terracotta saucer on top that we are going to mosaic. I put the basics of mine together yesterday as an example but Suzy will laugh when she sees it! My saucer is not centred correctly, damn it, I was in a rush. Oh well nothing like a quirky bird bath in the garden. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2012-08-01 07:22:00

How cool grizzly. Quirky is good. Your Women's group has heaps of fun things on the Agenda. I am lazing around today yippee.

I think the women enjoyed themselves yesterday. They certainly came up with some great patterns in their mosaic tops. I had bought some grout/adhesive to try. It's a paste in a tub but is quite thick and more difficult to work with. We ended going back to making up the powder grout.
Next 2 days in the office will be catching up on daily tasks that were moved aside for other stuff. Will be great to just put my head down and get on with it. I'm really hoping this weather clears for the weekend so I can finish the garden and I need to sand and paint the window frame in the bathroom too.

grizzly4 - 2012-08-02 07:41:00

Well mosaicing is fun but messy lol. I had a great day yesterday had to finalize my Australian part of my Super. Pretty simple but I waited awhile at Winz just to get my details verifyed for Australia. What a madhouse. Anyway I did my groceries after that and meandered to the garden centre. Repotted some pots in the afternoon. They were all so wet. Slid on the clay banks a few times and then thought bugger this. Cannot afford to slip. Ha ha. So until the gardens dry out I will only be doing the pots.

Very wise! I'm working on a lemon baby cardy at present, it has different panels of patterns so taking a bit longer than usual. Really hoping to have it finished for the shop on Monday.

Do you know what type of cement/grout I'd need to attach glass beads/mosaics to a letterbox? or would just ordinary stuff do? thanks :)

It was so hot when I was running around cleaning up but when I went up to the beach I starting freezing once I got to the top of the hill. Lousy arvo.
Knitting tonight. A little dress for E. and watching the Olympics of course. Ha ha.

Bought a coat thru TM from Murchinson, Nelsons Bay. Just heard from the seller and postage is $12. Where is it out in the sticks? I have things that large sent by Courier post from the South Island for $8. Ah well.

ok just so over this now and its only been 2 weeks, 3 or more to go . R has moved back in to her room today she couldn't wait any longer, she pulled the floor protection up herself and did a spring clean. lounge still a bloody mess. Hallway only half wallpaperd, to tell you the truth i can wall paper better than this guy. So So over it now. Once lounge is finished our bedroom has to move to the lounge, so be a while before things are back to normal. The contracors are all really nice though and like my ittle dog, although she is never far away from me, she just dosen't understand what is going on.

B%#*% looks like I'm getting a cold! I was so pleased to have got through the winter without being sick this year. Oh well. Lots of work done on Sunday, gardens are ready for planting and window frames are painted as well. We have to decide what our project for this summer will be! Although I have to rebark behind the garage (boring!) and put up a trellis as a windbreak for one of the new gardens from last summer. I might have to put some money into the spare bedroom this year but thats only getting a bed and new linen and accessories for the walls. No decorating.

Had a lovely Birthday tea out last night with the family. Loads of nice pressies. Lol. I am now officially a gold Card holder. Lol. You sound like you have a great plan grizzly. I repotted 6 more pots yesterday. Might do some weeding and pruning this afternoon as long as it stays dry.

makerealbany - 2012-08-07 11:24:00

Looks like I missed your birthday, makerealbany! And quite a milestone by the sounds of it! I hope you have lots of fun with your gold card, some of the members on the women's group always try to get a discount when we go out but I've usually got us a group deal anyway. My daughter is 30 today!!!! It makes me feel old never mind her. We are going out for a family dinner tonight and as she is not having a birthday cake I went and picked up a pretty cupcake from the Cupcake Collection. It is vanilla with pink and white flowers and a chocolate butterfly.
It's raining here today so have had to cancel the groups game of mini golf, going out to a beach side cafe instead.

Its my daughter's birthday today and I managed to get her some nice winter pys as they are not in the shops anymore and a Peace Lily Too darn cold for summer ones. I also got 4 cupcakes for her and her 3 children. Young K has already started on his after we had lunch. Lol.Had to take my car in this morning and get the mid section of the muffler replaced. Sounds soooo much better.

fancy us having our daughters on the same daet! I've probably said that before over the years, eh? LOL. I need to make some money... I am so bored with the clothes I have been wearing all winter. I have started layering the summer ones just for a change but then it rains and gets colder again. My cold hasn't come to anything so don't want to push my luck too much.

We are clever alright grizzly but there are too many Leos in my family. Everyone is a challenger ha ha. I took my little dog for his walk tonight and we got caught in the rain again. By the time I had bathed him and showered me the cats were carrying on because I was late to feed them. All that after a busy day helping my SIL mind the kids. M was throwing up all day poor little girl she has a terrible time when her tummy plays up. Tomorrow I am kid free lol.

makerealbany - 2012-08-09 20:17:00
4832

Both my kids are Leos as my son's birthday is next week as well! They both bring challenges but are very different. My daughter is the extrovert and my son is an introvert like me. Both my parents and my sister are cancerians, boy did I not fit being a scorpio!

My granddaughter is staying again tonight and is cooking me fajitas for tea. Yum. I have had a day out and raced in with pressies for J, lemonade for M's mum to boil for her she is still throwing up. Took P for a walk and when I got home they told me he had already had a walk today lol no wonder he was looking smug. I am going to watch The Voice and knit. If I am not coughing tomorrow I am going to drive to Rotorua to see Mum.

makerealbany - 2012-08-10 18:51:00
4834

I watched the Voice last night as well as reading the last couple of chapters of 'Shades of grey'. Had a good cry after that! The Voice was excellent last night don't you think? Much better than last week.
Smartgirl, you have some beautiful sets on TM at present. I've just recently finished the cardy you call 'Leah', too. Really enjoyed doing the different panels. Very effective when finished.

just moved my bedroom in to thw loung today, they are going to work on the two back bedroom now, then they have to fix a patch on the lounge celling that keeps bubbling, like something is causing a reaction with the paint, its only a small patch. So nice to be sitting in a clean warm room again, i'd like a bedroom this big lol. My little dog is going to be so confused when we sleep in here lol instead of going to the bedroom.

Yes I really enjoyed the Voice grizzly. Did not go to Mums. Was still coughing and my darn shoulder was still throbbing. I did something about a week ago and I have riced it, taken antiflams, rubbed all sorts into it and it is still throbbing. Beggar it. Any way it will heal soon.

How are you smartgirl? You busy lady. How are the rest of your family. M was sick but is a box of birds today. She has gone shopping with her parents to buy little J his first bed. He is fast asleep and I am browsing the net. Lol

I had one of the best weekends for asges! Cut out dressing gowns on Saturday morning to make for the shop and then went to Fabric Vision for a browse. Bought a lovely piece of stretch velour with a vertical line of stitching through it and clear sequins. It's in pale pink, thought it would make a nice jacket/cardy thingy. Was only $6 a metre! Then the family was over for a very pleasant afternoon and tea. Sunday was so wet and cold we did a bit of housework and cooked tonights meal ahead of time.Spent the rest of the day reading, knitting and watching the Olympics. Today is still wet and cold but have a full on day ahead with the shop first then work where we are taking the kids swimming and will be back a bit later than usual and then I have a shop meeting. I hope the flooding dies down a bit by the time I drive home tonight. It's nasty when the potholes fill up and you can't see them!

grizzly4 - 2012-08-13 07:19:00
4840

Smartgirl, I hear you have expressed interest in one of I's auctions! LOL. I need to tell you that he was home yesterday to reply to your question because of the weather, not me! Obviously that man is desperate to find the money for a new tyre for his motor bike. LOL.

grizzly4 - 2012-08-14 07:22:00
4841

It is so wet down here! Yesterday was travelling across town with the flooding breaking up the roads again quite badly. I was lucky that it was only drizzling by the time I was making my way home at 7pm and could see better than I expected. It is truly dreadful what it is doing to the damaged properties that people are still having to live in. Two women at work have to wade to their car at home so are pretty much living in gumboots!

grizzly4 - 2012-08-14 07:27:00

Major panic last night when I found out I. had listed his cell phone number on one of his auctions! I received a warning from TM a couple of years ago when I was selling a large item for a friend which I thought prospective buyers needed to see before bidding. Apparently you only get one warning but fortunately I. rang TM last night and they deleted the number off his comments as he realised his mistake and owned up. Imagine losing our TM account, imagine all my messages diappearing off this message board!

Sorry to hear you haven't been 100%, makerealbany. It's horrible at work at present (except for the Women's group), everyone is stressed to the max and it's been going on for ages. I'm truly tired of all the negative stuff and no answer to the problems in sight. I'm trying to focus on what I can achieve each day and feel good about that but, boy, it's hard to keep getting up each morning and go all the way across town to listen to more of the same!

grizzly4 - 2012-08-17 07:44:00
4849

I can relate to that grizzly. It gets so exhausting and it takes a toll on you. Why is there so much negativity in the workforce? No wonder the country is in a mess. Both my daughters say the same thing. Some people are not happen unless they are making others miserable. Had a really nice day today and the weather was great as well. We had to put down our big dog last Monday and the little one is really missing him but I am not going to get another dog. Getting too set in my ways now. Ha ha. Everyone was sad and it was really hard. Even the cats are looking around for him. Well I am off to crochet and watch TV.Lol. My daughter is encouraging me to join the 65 and over group to socialize more. Ha ha. Have not rung yeeeet.

So sorry about your dog, makerealbany. Got through today, was a little better than the rest of the week but looking forward to the weekend. I have B7 and L5 staying overnight as son and DIL are going out tonight to celebrate his birthday tomorrow.
