I reckon you can never have too much wool either

#Post

Morning everyone.

Sorry for your Loss Carole. Even tho your parted there was love there at some stage

Good idea re changing the visa cards Kiwimade, much less interest eh. Ohh dear re buttons, its always the same eh, we might have hundreds but never anything we need lol.

Hope the toes are feeling a little les tender Kuaka. I would use them as an excuse for the lawn lol.

I didn't knit of crochet anything yesterday.. Was sore and tired. I may do later today but I think Im a little hung over lol.. Took a sleeping pill last night, cos for some stupid reason Im not sleeping well. Woke up at 5am and was soo sore that I took codeine. I think Ive had a little too much lol.. Oops.
So I definatly wont be driving anywhere. House work to do anyway.

Have a good day all

ohh I know that hung over feeling from taking sleeping pills, it's like you have cotton wool between your ears.

Just have to vacuum and housework is done. The Furry One has found a tennis ball and has been having fun with it as I strip the bed... little buggar keeps trying to get me to play with him... OK... it' not hard to stop making a bed and play with him lol, he is just so happy, it's infectious.

Looks like a perfect day to knit or crochet or stitch :)

Afternoon all (was going to be good morning but just heard the midday pips on the radio lol).

Do hope your toe heals quickly Kuaka somehow toes seem so much more painful than fingers.

What is if with buttons? never have enough of the ones I want in my stash and as for those stupid packets they come in these days they never seem to have the correct number in them either. Have found a great shop in Carterton which has so many different buttons just wish it was a lot closer as only go down that way from time to time.

It's cooling down but will go for a walk to skeinz and see if they have any pale aqua wool as Niece has asked me to knit a ballet cardy for her girl and think that colour will really suit her- she doesn't actually do ballet so doesn't have to be the regular pink fortunately.

Yep that's the best way to describe the foggy feeling.. A lot better now that the codeine has worn off lol..
Have done the dishes and dusted. Ill vac tomorrow.

Started my frill not long before lunch..

Got 13 squares in the mail this morning , Think I have about 28 now with the ones Ive been doing.. So still a while to go before I can put them together.

Will have a play here and then back to my 8 stitches and a few meters of work lol

My laptop is on the blink. I can't get to the knitting pattern I am currently using so will just have to knit some squares :)
Sitting at my old desktop and I am cold and it is a bit lonely in here.

D-I-l says it is my keyboard that has packed up so she has loaned me a spare one which sits n my knees :)

I might have to knit her fingerless gloves as her hands are sore.

I used to use a wireless keyboard and mouse when using my lappy GMS.. I still use the mouse. It just uses a usb plugged into the lappy. Completly wireless.
I cant wait for it to be cool enough to use my fingerless mittens when using the lappy and knitting.. lol

I think I got mine via fly buys points so have a look into that if you have fly buys

yes I do have flybuys but d-I-l has loaned me a keyboard. Yes I was wireless and cordless mouse. It is blue so that I don't lose it.

Pasue is in bed asleep and listening to Daniel O'Donnell. I can handle that so I might go join him. Night night.

The scarf looks great. Love the colours in the wool.
First blanket I have seen in that pattern. Was talking about the pattern at our local k& n group this morning. Will give the picture link to the others. Thanks for sharing with us.

Lovely colours Kuaka
here is the crocheted version of 10 stitch, although its only 8 stitches. Only cushion size at the moment and using scrap wool so not sure how big it will be

morning ladies :) I love your colourway for the scarf kuaka and I haven't seen the pattern for the blanket before. I love how the different colours are 'blocked' with rounded edges.

Oh wow raej.... now I had better go search out that pattern lol, a crochet version might suit me better than the knitted.

I've knitted four squares for the Lets Wrap NZ group so will take a pic and post it. Am plodding on with my dragon cross stitch too as I've found a picture of a dog the spitting image of our Furry One so want to stitch that. Nothing like having the next project worked out in my head to get me inspired to finish what I'm working on.

happy knitting :)

Ohhh kuaka, how's your toe? Hopefully the bruising is all out now.

Toe isn't so bad this morning thanks, although it kept me awake a long time in the night, so I took a strong painkiller and eventually dozed off. Foot has some lovely colours on it. Sunny here this morning although it's quite nippy. We didn't get a walk yesterday, went to town to check the mail and get a few bits at the four square shop and then there were a few spits of rain, so we came home again. Mr K used the treadmill but I didn't. Try to get a walk today.

I'd like to do the jelly bean blanket next, but not sure I have enough bright colours to do the centres and make it look nice - might have to buy some more yarn - but it will have to wait till next month as I've put enough on the cc for this month, and I never put more on it than I can afford to pay off in full when the bill comes in.

Morning everyone... oops our mornings are starting late these days.

Kuaka I love the Mile a Minute Blanket, will have to search for some instructions.. The scarf is beautiful, you did well with the colours.

Hope the toe is feeling a bit better.

Good GMS that you are sorted again.

Kiwimade I think its cool you have a picture to do , and your right nothing like a new project to make you finish the one your on..

I didn't knit a stitch last night. Last couple of days I just haven't been bothered. But Ill plod away on the frill today.

Warm here this morning.

Hope everyone has a good day

Love the blanket Kuaka I've never seen that pattern before. Does your knitted square project use any yarn type or just DK as I've got lots of random part balls I could knit up when I'm trying to keep up the games on Facebook lol!

vivz2 - 2014-05-24 12:40:00
4766

Hi Viv we chose Dk so that things stay a uniform thickness. Can always use two strands of 4ply etc if you have odd balls.

Meant to say off the games on Facebook he he...DK good then cos I end up with part balls after knitting bed socks

morning ladies :) What a wild night we had last night but all calm now. Not a breath of wind.

Think I have the mouse problem sorted, I found the hole where they were coming in and blocked it with a steelo pad until MrK can do it properly. No mousey-doo under the fridge today. I found a secret stash of doggy kibble under the fridge yesterday when I pulled it out to clean (for the third time in three weeks). Cheeky mice had been raiding the Furry One's bowl.

I've got buttons to sew on the wee cardy today and ends to sew in for the squares so will get that done. I've embroidered daisies on the cardy.

Happy knitting :)

Morning everyone. Was wild and woolly here too. still warm. Im back in summer clothes.
We brought our Baby home yesterday, shes fawn rather than grey, But soo adorable. shes a cuddly one too. Ive built her a play pen so that grumble Bum wont be mean to her. Hes sniffed her and been voicing his opinion ever since.
I think she likes the Tick of my heart valve cos she cuddled up on my heart and every time I tried to move her she went back to it.
She slept from 9pm till 7am so did very well.

My friend has named hers Sahree which is pretty.

I did manage to get some knitting done on the frill. And will get more done today.
Glad you have sorted the mouse trouble Kiwimade, pesky things.

Have a good day all. Ill be getting the camera out later

My sum total of creativity this weekend has been a dolls blanket for my kindy teachers centre. Their dolls have no blankets. They want me to make a dolls carry cot for them too. I used to have a Cabbage Patch pattern for one but no longer have it. I'm thinking it might be better to just makes blankies and pillows and find some baskets from the Sally shop as beds

Sick family members can be a worry but as long as she accepts the treatment offered she will do fine. These days it is not a life sentence and no matter how much you worry it won't make her better. She is an adult and must take responsibility for treatment and doing whatever she needs to do to recover. Maybe you could cook meals for her freezer for days when she does not feel up to cooking. Or go around and do washing etc. Pick-up kids from school , or just ask how best you can help
It is hard but sometimes they don't really want our help and if we are carrying bugs it might be best to stay away.

Or make the blankets into wee sleeping bags. When I was supervising Playcentres the kids loved carrying the dolls around in front packs :)

oohh lovely about puss popeye, can't wait to see the pics. Well vivz2, you have been more creative than me lol. I've weeded down one side of our yard (does look good though) and have had my sister visit this afternoon as we are dog sitting her dog over the next few days. I did manage to stitch about 10 cross stitches on my dragon picture before she came though :P. Will sew the buttons on this wee cardy this evening (once the dogs have sorted their pecking order out in the couch).

carole, I like GMS advice, very sensible and practical.

Morning all, didn't sleep well last night, and I won't be able to have a nana nap today as I have to go to the dentist this afternoon. I mustn't forget it, as they phoned on Friday morning to remind me, then sent me a text on Friday afternoon, and had already sent me an email the week before - I personally think 3 reminders is a bit much, I'm not a 5 year old nor am I senile - yet. I was a bit cheesed off to be perfectly honest, and I'm going to mention it to them. I will also take some knitting to do in case I have to wait (which would be quite normal).

Bit nippy here this morning. We didn't get much of a walk yesterday because it started to rain. Hope to get one today, although my toe is quite sore today because yesterday I decided to do some sewing and managed to bang my toe on the foot of the chair. Ouch. I did some tidying up and sorting out in the sewing room, and did some mending. Not my favourite job.

I've almost finished my first ball of yarn for my 10 stitch zig zag blanket. I've done over one and a half strips so I think I will have plenty of yarn to make the blanket big enough, not sure that I really like it though, I think the colours are just a bit too vibrant and the yarn seems very "lightweight". Not to worry, I'll plod on, only another 24 balls to go.......

Happy knitting everyone.

morning ladies :) We're dogsitting for a few days so the Furry One and Fluffy One are racing madly around and around and around.... typical of terriers, only know how to hoon lol.

Because the two rat-bags were sorting out most of the evening who was going to cuddle up to Mum on the couch, nothing got done. So today, I WILL sew on the buttons and sew the ends in on the squares.

It's colder today, that westerly has a real bite to it. I might be able to get more weeding done if the sun comes out though and I wear warmer clothes... guess it's bye-bye to summer clothes. Otherwise the needles will be out.

Happy knitting :)

Morning all
It's definitely colder here today although the sun is out so not too keen to get going.

The kitten is lovely Popeye and seems like you will be kept going with your 2 pups Kiwimade.

Have had a lovely knitty weekend and managed to finish 3 little garments using wool I have dyed and dyed another lot yesterday which I'm not too sure about, it is blue but the dye just would not dissolve properly so I had to sieve it through some material and silly me didn't remember the gloves until part way through so now have lovely blue fingers. Somehow the dye stuck to my fingers better than to the wool.

Also planted some seeds into seed boxes for the new little greenhouse but not exactly a good time of year for this so just cabbages and leeks. But did get to library so have good supply of books for if the weather gets worse and am knitting a little cardy which doesn't need a lot of concentration so can read and knit which is my favourite past time.

Have a good day and keep warm

Morning everyone. Welcome to kittyville lol.. Poppy is settling in. She is honing around the lounge getting into everything. Bob wants to join in, but that would mean he's accepting her, and he's a stubborn male lol

Blowing a gale here. And I have to go get a rubbish sticker I forgot yesterday.

Did manage to get some frill done last night.

Ouchies Kuaka, its Murphy's law that we have to bang the same toe twice eh.
Lol Kiwimade you will have two helpers in the garden....Oh to be a fly on the wall for that lol

Have a good day everyone...

I gave up on the garden - two terriers trying to 'help' was getting me no where and besides, that wind has a really cold bite to it.

The buttons are on and the ends are sewn in. The Fluffy One was watching me intently sew (her 'mum' doesn't sew or knit) so it was quite off putting lol. I've cross stitched all the way across the bottom border and have started up the right hand side. Only have to go to the top middle. I estimate another month and I will have it finished. Nine months work in all.

My aunt in Queenstown said it is snowing like you wouldn't believe. Am glad we live up here lol.

Happy knitting :)

Hehehe told you the Garden helpers would be more trouble than they're worth lol..
Madam has had a huge sleep in her play pen. wore herself out with the toys. Now she is honing around bob and he doesn't want to play.. PAYBACK lol.
Have done a good couple of hours of frill today. Its growing. Still heaps to go tho.
Have got tea sorted. Have just about got a military schedule going now. but by the time I do insulin and blood sugars etc. Get MrP sorted, then the animals . I have to fit everything else in..
not that Id change any of it. The cuddle and wee snooze she has with me is worth it.
I guess winter has hit for the south. I have long sleeves on, although rolled up a little. And slippers .
The wind is bitterly cold out there.

Stay warm and enjoy the inside time

morning :) ice on the inside of our windows too, about -4 here earlier. But going to be a stunning day so I don't mind the frost.

I love your jacket raej2 just gorgeous. And I had to look twice for your Furry One lol, omg he blends in beautifully!

My Furry One and the Fluffy One have been racing round madly as they do in the morning. The Fluffy One has braved the frost (not my boy, he's not nuts lol) and is barking at the rubbishman. The Furry One is quite comfortable thank you to do it from inside by the heater.

MrK has asked me to knit him socks to wear under his boots - I hate knitting socks and have only ever knitted one - not even a pair. So I will buy some wool and knit him a pair and hope he has patience as this will take a while lol.

Happy knitting :)

I have tried knitting socks, didn't work very well. Have been buying books on crocheted socks but haven't got round to trying them yet. the jacket was simple pattern and chunky wool But I love how it turned out

raej2 - 2014-05-27 08:08:00

Morning ladies, cold here too, although not quite cold enough for Jack Frost to visit, there is plenty of condensation on the windows but it was 12 degrees in the lounge when I got up, I think without the new ceiling insulation we had fitted last year, it would only have been about 4 or 5 degrees. Looks like being a stunning day.

I found half a dead mouse on the carpet this morning, I have no idea where that came from, unless it was in during the day and running around unseen. I don't think there's anywhere it could come in during the night. Anyway little puss dealt with it. This is where she slept last night (and is still there now actually - she hasn't moved). The photo shows all the knitting clutter which is my works in progress and balls of yarn waiting to be returned to the stash. Reminds me I'd better sort it out.

https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/317987663.jpg

Luckily the scarf (that's the huge ball of wool that puss is curled up on) is for me.

Gosh your furry one blends in well raej - and I love that jacket.

Looks like being a stunning day. My afternoon "off".

Have a great day everyone.

Happy knitting everyone.

love the colours in your stash. Just had to check some mohair I'm crocheting for my mother, it looks similar to yours but hers is more purple and blue. Lol I'm going to run out and can't match as its ancient. I have found some in spotlight that are similar colours but solid so will work them round the edges

I had a nosey at your stash too kuaka lol and I've just knitted that pink/purple mohair into squares for the Let's wrap NZ. Was lovely and light and warm.

Morning, I nearly feel like saying Good afternoon at this time. And Ive just finished my breakfast lol..
We had a doozy white frost. Bobcat wasn't impressed but stayed out a wee while. Will be lovely day. The temp gauge is too cold to work lol.
Love your jacket Rae and toggles is the right way to go eh.

Lol Kuaka at the cat. That's asking for trouble letting her be on the wool.

Do your furry ones have the terrier shake down pat Kiwimade?

Poppy is running around all over the place. Ive just found more blood lol.. The skin on my legs is very thin. so easy for her to break it.

Ive only done one pair of socks, on two needles. Just put them on MrPs feet from the hot water cupboard. Ive given him the pair that was knitted for me years ago. Puts off the need to knit another pair for a while lol.

Wouldn't you know it. its Cold enough to wear my jacket and Im not going anywhere lol
