Wow beautiful clothes Dili. I have been very busy creating Christmas ornaments for gifts. All finished now ... photos to come. Have just spent the last hour or so listing purses etc .... sometimes it's hard to know what category to put things in.

Only one week now till Christmas. Am busy hemming tablecloths for the City Mission Christmas dinner at present. Eight done and eight to go. I did about 20 last year so they must be expecting a lot more to dinner this time. Hope you are all well and prepared. I have a very busy week .... dentist, doctor (for mum), supporting a depressed friend with mental health appointments, hairdresser, helping grand-daughter finish her first quilt, babysitting while parents do their shopping, doing my own shopping, plus several other things like hemming tablecloths, etc. whew am tired just thinking about it.

I started 2017 the way I intend to continue this year ..... spent Jan 1 sorting out craft drawers and containers so I know what I have and now have some sort of storage system. I had bits all over the place so it was quite exciting finding them and putting them together.
Then yesterday I started free motion quilting a quilt for a grandies birthday later this month. Also found four quilt tops which need finishing so got one more ready for quilting. I would have done the others but have run out of polar fleece. I also decided on a new quilt for a grandchild who will be 4 in March.
So it looks like 2017 will be a year of quilting and craft activities ... I certainly hope so.

Well Barbrose - it looks like you are organised for the year. Also have plans for another quilt. Dresden plate done with Kaffe Fassett fabrics on black/grey background. I have all the fabric and have been very good finishing other things before I start cutting. Can't wait to start.

Hello everyone .... congratulations on your new great grand daughter Dili.
It's been 2 months since I posted on this board .... on Jan 25 Mum and I left for our 12 day cruise to Australia and round NZ. We had a marvellous time for 8 days and the morning we berthed in Dunedin, Mum had a severe stroke. We spent the next five days in Dunedin Hospital and then she was flown home to Whanganui hospital and she passed away on Feb 21. We had lived together for almost 5 years and I am missing her terribly. She was almost 97 and we thought she would reach 100 as she was so well. The sewing room doesn't feel quite right without her there. I am going to completely rearrange it otherwise I will find it too hard not seeing her in her usual spot. She left about six UFOs - all cut out but with no pattern or design attached so will have to work out how to finish them. A friend has offered to help.
I managed to finish a quilt for my grand daughter in time for her 4th birthday yesterday. Luckily I had completed the quilt top before the cruise otherwise she would have had to wait.

We not so good at posting these days. I have finished my sewing room. Everything is tidy and easily identified. I wonder how long it will stay that way. I must admit it is nice having it so tidy but I am not a naturally tidy person so it also feels a bit odd.

Just in the process of downsizing all my fabrics and haberdashery and theatre costuming bits and pieces (moving house in the near future) and it sure is hard to do. I've always said to my family "I'm not a hoarder; I'm an archivist" because they don't see that my stuff is all hobby-related. I am not hoarding giant stacks of newspapers, or bottles of pee!

Hello everyone ....I have been missing in action for a wee while. I also have a SABLE teejay. I have more than enough fabric for two lifetimes but I can't stop adding to it. My kids know that's their inheritance and they better hurry up and start quilting if they want to get value from it lol.
When mum died earlier this year, I inherited all her fabrics too so the house is bursting at the seams with quilts just waiting to be made. She left about 12 quilts in various stages of creation - some are just two or three blocks and I need to work out what to do with them. Actually I wonder if I can turn them into one big quilt,.... something to consider.

I cant sit at my sewing machine for longer than 1hr now and that's with taking pain killers., so have started knitting dolls clothes also as I can knit while resting on my bed. . Here is my trial effort for my own doll. She will sit on my bed. Have a great weekend all. Cold drinks in the fridge.
