This was a group effort .... It's a farewell gift for someone special. There are a few things I wouldn't be happy with if it was all my work but I have had to let it go ... I did unpick a bit of quilting and redid it when no one was looking but I couldn't fix it all. I know the recipient won't see any of the mistakes -just the love that went into it.

I should be hand sewing the binding on grandies' quilt - it's her birthday on Saturday. But I am being lazy and can't be bothered getting out of my warm position by the fire and going into the cold sewing room even if it's just to get the needle and thread and bring it back out into the warmth. I will have to make a real effort tomorrow. This cold is a bit of a shock to the system after our lovely long hot summer and autumn.

Thanks ffloss - I was a bit nervous but once I started I was committed and really enjoyed it. Had been watching some you tube tutorials and did a practice piece first to get my pedal foot and hands moving at the same speed. The man sewing tutorials are really good. I learned a lot from them.

Me is home , had a lovely holiday. Didn't buy too much fabric either just 4 pieces, Could not find the party time fabric I always buy there. All sold out. Hope you all had a great time here too. I hear the weather was nice.

Hi Alll just to stop us dropping of the page. Been baking all morning, and what a fail, someone had changed my oven setting to grill instead of fan bake. grrrrrrr........... now have burnt tops on apple pies. Sewing all day tomorrow for me.

Oops been busy ... Life seems to have got in the way of quilting lately. Been trying to finish a few projects, alter a grand daughter's ball dress, and help mum celebrate her 96th birthday. Have one quilt to complete this month before I head to Brisbane for three weeks. It's for a birthday the week after I come home. Then mum has an order for a quilt which she will need help with so I won't start anything new for a while. Hope you are all well. Glad you are keeping us on the page dilli.

Yes we do miss the banter. Everyone must be busy. I have almost finished a scrap quilt for our bed high I am thrilled with. Our patchwork group is also making knee quilts for our local cancer society.

Mum is going to Brisbane with me - we are staying with my brother and his wife. I hope to do some fabric shopping but to be honest, I don't need any! I keep telling my kids their inheritance is all in the sewing room. I will never get to use it up and Mum has as much as me too.

I found my nine days too long this time , was ready for me own bed again after 5 days and esp so after 7. SO will only be going for a week next time......Bet you cant wait till Brisbane comes round. 3 weeks wowm hope you have good weather for it. ......

Hi everyone .... Well silly me decided to fall down the back steps yesterday and I now have a badly sprained ankle. There is a very small crack in the bone too but I am able to have a moon boot rather than have a cast. Pain levels not too bad but walking s difficult. I fly out on Monday with Mum and my brother and Mum keeps offering me her wheelchair lol. I am sure I will be more mobile by then. But I have to keep the moon boot on for a few weeks so am now revising my packing. Only need to take one shoe rather than a pair - but I will take at least one pair. Not sure how much shopping I will get done. I had planned to wear jeans and dress pants but think I will change those to leggings and tunics now. Never a dull moment in this house.

Am a bit sick of just lying around with my leg up. It's a beautiful combination of black, blue and yellow now and the swelling is starting to go down. Today I didn't even bother to get dressed ... It's much more comfortable just wearing pjs if you are lying around. How is everyone?

Sounds like you are going to be busy dna. sorry can not help with any of it apart from the mini pot plants can be got from Spotlight. They have different size small pots. (usually in sets of 4).... All well here, busy as usual, nice sewing weather here at the moment. Just boiled the jug for me nite cap. plenty for all. sorry no baking.

Spent more money than I intended to at a quilt shop ... Lots of jelly rolls and layer cakes as well as some tools and templates.
Ankle still swollen and painful so back to doctor tomorrow.

Hi friends, been lying low as ankle been very uncomfortable. Doctor says to expect another 3 or 4 weeks before it feels normal again. Swelling almost gone thankfully but not really coping with the constant ache and standing for longer than 30 minutes is awful. However, I did manage to make a start on cutting out fabrics for a new quilt yesterday. Must show you the last quilt I finished and gifted to a grand daughter last weekend.

Hi everyone. Been to the quilt fair in Porirua today. Not as big as the fairs we have been to in the past but I still managed to find some new templates and other bits and pieces. We got a puncture just before Mana and had to drive a few kms to the Mana BP where a lovely man put the spare on for us and then gave directions to a tyre place in Porirua. There they had to order a new tyre for us but it was all sorted by the time we were ready to return to Wanganui. I was very impressed by the lovely friendly service.

Sorry girls , I have been so busy that I haven't been near Trade Me. Have a craft fair in early December and trying to build my stocks up. These are my latest creations.

Have a puppy and two teenage grandchildren staying at present so it's busy at my house. Also had another teenage grandchild come and do more work on her first quilt yesterday.
