(sorry my spelling is bad, I am seriously wondering if I've had a stroke - lots of letters getting mixed up this week) He *was* my 2nd best manager ever, but recently he said I had an ugly face - a comment that really floored me, as I held him in high regard. I reckon that the stress from the EQs has affected his abilities, ...and self-control. | 4717 | Aaargh - my oven door just exploded. Five million tiny pieces of glass went seven metres, or at least that's the furthest bit I've found so far. I've been extracting tiny bits from between the tiles, emptying more from inside the toaster, and grovelling under the table for a hour and I've got most of it I think, except what's under the fridge and dishwasher which can wait till husband or sons appear. . There was a lot of force behind it too - a bit went through my jeans and cut my leg. It's a very minor cut but if a child had been standing in line with it, or one of our pets, they could have been hit in the eye very easily. | 4721 | It was a Westinghouse. More surprising than scary really - I couldn't work out what had happened for a minute. Despite all my cleaning last night bits are still appearing from somewhere. Last nights casserole was just ready to go in when the door exploded, then I told son I'd make his favourite savory muffins and pumpkin soup when he came out for lunch - not so easy. Pumpkin soup and cheese rolls browned in the sandwich press seemed quite acceptable though. I might use this as an excuse for pizza tonight I think. I've been painting this afternoon and don't feel at all inspired about cooking. Getting superfit is obviously going to be a great side effect of your summer location and job Rae. | 4724 | I'm just filling in time before leaving for Hamilton shortly.. a bit of distraction on the messageboard - Jenni was admitted to hospital there a a short time ago, worrying symptoms, mostly after lifting something heavy at work - took her to a doctor on Wednesday.. given pain meds, got worse, a few hours ago she saw another emergency doctor who phoned a specialist neurologist based at the hospital and he went there to wait for her to arrive - thankfully with her boyfriend as very caring support. She's been admitted to the acute ward, under observation. Has had blood tests - white cell count high, no obvious infections though.. chest x-ray, including of her lung that has previously collapsed several times, many questions.. something showing that could be 'a few things' - CAT scan being done today. juliewn - 2011-09-18 03:12:00 |

I rang Electrolus this morning - "Glass sometimes does that, you mighht have hit it with something at some time...!". So I might I guess but not noticeably. It's irritaing to have to pay for it but how much worse if a child had got that blast in the face. The guy at Consumer says that that is always the line taken and in their view it may just be unavoidable with doors that are entirely glass i.e impossible to guarantee the safety of glass that is regularly heeated over time, but in Consumers view manufacturers should replace the glass free.
