| 47431 | Evening all ... Have been awol for a while now .... Some difficult times in the family which I won't go into but it's taking my time and energy. Still managing to get into the sewing room from time to time thankfully as its my "happy place". Spent an hour or two there today. Finished a birthday gift for Thursday and completed some blocks for one of Mum's many incomplete projects. She starts a quilt but then forgets and starts another. And she really has no memory of what she has tucked away in the cupboard. She bought a beautiful batik layer cake earlier this year and was going to finish UFOs before making something for herself but at 95 she doesn't have a lot of time left to enjoy it so I have persuaded her to put everything else aside and make something for herself. All the other projects are for rest homes and they can wait. I want to start a memory quilt with photos for my ex husband who has just had a huge stroke and has no speech or movement down one side of the body. i am hoping it will help him somehow. Have made fabric baskets, infinity scarves, gorgeous ribbon Angels, cathedral window decorations, bunting, and cushions. Am now making an angel for the top of a Christmas tree. These are all gifts - it's a homemade Christmas this year. Am loving trying new crafts and very happy with the results. I will try and post some pics .
