How long to do you have to wait for the x-ray results? Are you going to be looking at more surgery?

Weather has certainly changed today. It's bitterly cold. We are painting plaster sculptures this morning at the women's group. Will be ok as long as there are no more quakes like yesterday. That was rough! How are you today, makerealbany.

Hi grizzly I have no idea about the X RAYS they send them to the GP sometimes 5 days, sometimes 10. I am avoiding surgery because my only option will be fusion. I am feeling a lot better thanks. Today a had trademen in the house all day and after watching Target last night I was in a state keeping an eye on the painter who arrived before anyone else. He won't be back thank the lord I had a creepy feeling about him and I swear he had withdrawal from something this morning. Even the plasterers and builder were eyeing him up when they arrived. LOL. They all asked me if I had seen Target last night. One of the guys said his wife taped it for him. They were all shocked and could not believe what that guy did. It is cold here tonight and raining as well.

i was in pak n save and didn't feel the shake yesterday but had to pick things up off the floor when i got home so guessed there had been one, then my daughter rang me to see if i was ok. So glad i had taken my little dog with me, she gets terrified when she is alone during a shake.
Really cold today, was going to take Bella for a run in the dog park at the Groins, but just too cold, maybe tomorrow.

I agree with roll on summer. Definitely into the winter jerseys now.It's a busy week and I haven't been able to fit everything in as I would like. Now I have won 2 auctions for work and have to pick them up over the next few days. One is in Rangiora the other in Lincoln - both outside the city limits and and on opposite sides!!! I'm also trying to get the audit for the shop AGM on Saturday, rang her Tuesday asking to pick it up this morning as I have the stall at Barrington on Friday and I need to organise photocopying. SHE HADN'T STARTED IT AND SAID SHE WOULD RING ME!!!!!! Can you believe it? That was the first thing I asked her "Can she have it completed for 19/5?" No problems was the answer. I am practising my deep breathing excercises as I type this.

Well I got the audit back but for twice the price as there was extra work involved because of an error in last years audit!! I am now angry all over again with the previous accountant! I feel like invoicing him the extra but it would be no use getting him to pay it. Grrrr. Todays miracle will be finding the time to photocopy it when I am on the stall, then at work then back at the stall. Had to make 2 chocolate cakes at 6.30 this morning so I can make L4 his giraffe cake for his party tomorrow. Go, Nana!!

Go Nana is right grizzly. You have been going and going Ha ha. Good on I for decorating the cake. Well the builder finally finished in the house for the time being. He also fixed my bathroom door for me which was great. The plasterers have gone and so has the horrible painter who turned up Friday morning to pick up some stuff. The new kitchen looks amazing. My daughter is so pleased with it. Ought to be for the price lol. I went to watch J who is 8 play rugby this morning. It was wet and yucky but I enjoyed watching him. Then we went back to my sons. I took M with me. We played with little B and then went to do some errands at the mall. M and I had lunch and then came home without getting the groceries. I told her after we go to the supermarket and then we can go home and she said" Nana my legs are aching aren't yours? I laughed and said" Yes they are" She then said " Lets go home and give it a miss" Lol So guess where I will go early tomorrow. There were so many people at the Warehouse. All I had to do was exchange a top I had bought. Size on label was different to the size on the garment. GRRR.

Sounds like M is wise like her Nana. LOL. WE bought a Lego board game for B7 for hs birthday in March and I spent the late afternoon putting it together with him and we played for ages once it was set up. He has a very strategic brain I think, we really enjoyed it.

Had a lovely lazy day except for the shakes at either end. We travelled to Rangiora to pick up a Barbie bike for work and had lunch at Artisan's Cafe then visited the Warehouse where we found items we had been looking for in other branches and at far cheaper prices!! Then moved across town completely to LIncoln to pick up the Barbie aeroplane also for work. Boy, has that township grown since I was last there. Then visited I.'s brother in Leeston before coming home to make curry for easy tomorrow night and heating soup for tea tonight. Shame weekends are so short.

Yes it is a shame. I played with J who has another terrible cough while his Mum took M to do the weekly shop. I gave her my short list to do as well lol Saved me a trip down. After lunch I cleaned my carpets. They needed it after all the traffic through here lately. I pottered around waiting for my washing to dry as we had a good afternoon with no rain and it was windy.I dyed my hair which perked me up and even got to sweep all the darn pine needles up on my paths. Have to clean my car tomorrow. I have not had time or the energy to do it but it really needs it. I have my list to do tomorrow as the Nanny is here at 9.30 until 6.30. Whoppee.!!!!!

I've had a rotten nights sleep once again, I don't know why it's Sunday nights I'm the most anxious. Doesn't help that were 12 shakes yesterday and 8 since midnight this morning. Just managed to drop off and Mac (our most settled girl) started wandering through the house crying. Tried to settle in her in our bed but only worked for a hile before she was up and at it again. No idea what was upsetting her but it's not helping me get a handle on my nerves at all. I was so looking forward to L5 starting school today and seeing him afterwards now I'm just worried. I guess if anything does happen we only have to get to one place to grab the boys now, thank goodness.

No way I don't know what was wrong with Jed Last night either he was in and out all night. Paws was fine. What a special day today. I remember when S my 24 yr old grandson started school. I was more nervous than my daughter. i used to close the bakery at 3 and race down the road to get him when his mother would let me ha ha. He used to love chocolate lamingtons so I would take him one. I have had a most relaxing day. The nanny arrived at 9.30 so I have been crafting. Yippee. I sealed a couple of boxes for mosaics. There were cobwebs on my gear in the shed. I kid you not. Then I knitted the back of a cross over matinee jacket for little E. i am loving having time to myself and my back is aok.

Friday at last. Rather a long week this week, it's so full on getting funding applications done for work and for the shop. It's getting 2 quotes for everything that is incredibly time consuming. Mind you I prefer doing the applications to waiting for the results. I finished the leggings to go with the prem top, now hoping to have a blanket finished as well to take to the shop on Monday.

Your grandson sounds like mine grizzly. Had K and M for the night and most of today. They tag teamed me last night and I was awake with M at 12 the K at 1 got him settled and then M was up at 2 then again at 4. She had a high temp the first time so I cooled her down and gave her the magical Paracetamol but her tonsils were really swollen this morning. Poor little thing. K is going through a growth spurt so is perpetually hungry. I am exhausted tonight Lol. Choc disappeared but M has gone off choc so it must have been K. He said he may have eaten it. lol. He managed to consume a hugh variety but it is a lot better than when he just would not eat at all without a big ruckus. So now I have a computer and a Laptop that are useless. Grrrrrr. I really need to buy a new one but you never know I may be able to get one of them fixed. Ha ha.

LOL our stories are very similar I hope your computer problems sort themselves out soon. I would really miss our daily natters. Had a very lazy day yesterday apart from making marmalade in the morning. Can never predict the outcome of the jolly stuff. Once I had processed the fruit after cooking it whole as usual there seemed a lot more liquid than the last time so of course this is a runny batch. Sigh. Helping Mum and Dad shift over the long weekend in Blenheim and really wanted to take some perfect marmalade up to them. Unfortunately my Mum is quite crtical so not sure I'll bother. Have to say it still tastes great though.

The taste is what counts grizzly lol. I must say I have those probelms as well. Had Kesh last nite and A had to drop both the kids off at 8.15 so I was up at 5.30. J has a temp again. I get it down and then off he goes again. Both K and M had this last week for 24 hours. He seems happy enough but it is a worry. He is having a nap and I have just finished the washing. Nice windy day but cold. You have had some darn awful shakes down there lately girl I get nervous just hearing about them. Darn grandson never says a word about them. He says he is used to it. Ah the resilence of youth lol. I am working on the computer prob. Yes you are my lifeline to sanity ha ha. Hope today is a nice one.

I am knackered and can't wait for Thursday when all the funding applications will be sent away. Yahoo. It's going to be busy up in Blenheim over the long weekend getting things done and not stepping on my parents toes in the process. Shifting is difficult at the best of times without 2 unwell 80 year olds giving the orders. LOL. Is K's temp part of his past medical history or winter 'flu stuff?

No I think little J is just winterflu stuff. Fingers crossed. He seems to live at the doctors. The house is warm but not too warm, we wrap him up if we need to take him out which I must say is not that often these days. He is an outdoors kid so he wrenchs at the doors trying to get out. It is sad. He is a very busy little boy and is also pulling something apart lol. I don't envy you with the shifting girl. My Mum drives me crazy just cleaning out her shed. She says she is going to toss stuff but we end up putting it all back just in a neater state than it was in before. lol.She is very particular about how you fold things, stack things and clatter her things!!!!!!!! I will most likely be the same ha ha.

So many dreadful stories in the news this weeek, aren't there? I don't know if I would have the strength to go on after losing one child let alone triplets. My heart goes out to al the families who lost their children in that fire in Doha. I am astounded about the group of girls being able to stray away from the main group on their school camp as well. Great supervision! A group of chilldren including some from our after school programme were being transported by bus on a school trip on Monday and the stupid driver drove the bus under a bridge that is renowned for being too low. 7 children and one adult were taken to hospital but discharged later that day, thank goodness. Stupid, stupid driver! He would not listen to his passengers telling him he couldn't go that way.
The day after I was fuming about yet another family overloading a dinghy, I passed a car with the woman driver strapped into a seatbelt but her 2 year old girl was kneeling sideways in her carseat up at the window!!!! Stupid adults that put our young people at risk make my blood boil.

My son is home again after his 6 months away so he called in today and it was so nice to see him. He is so skinny though. All those high temps over there. It was cold here this morning. What a change for him. My granddaughters are starting their Balls now. Expensive dresses and all the trimmings. They would never have coped in our day. Ha ha. I remember Mum and my Aunty swiping the new satin brocade curtaining material from Dad and making my first dance dress. It was beautiful and all my friends were jealous for at lest 10 mins. Lol. We all borrowed things from each other in those days but not dresses. Of course we all had warm coats to wear over our dresses as well as gloves and scarves or stoles but these days they wouldnt be seen dead in a full length coat. Lol

Makes me remember the drama of my daughter going to her balls. Not the best evenings of her life unfortunately, the boy she went with was a bit of a prat. I don't miss those days.
Had a lovely couple of days with Mum and Dad. Got them shifted into their retirement villa safely and everything into cupboards etc so they look as if they have been there for ages. LOL. They kept saying they didn't need help beforehand but were so grateful after wards it was embarrassing. I met the manager of the Village and was very pleased with how is caring for Mum and Da's welfare. Welcomed them with a lovely fruit basket and will be checking on them every morning for the first week then they can say whether they want that service to continue. It's quite a relief to know they are safe.

got a phone call from my brother this morning, my mother is in hospital with a clot in her lung. She was being treeted for a chest infection by her doctor, but wasnt getting better so my brother took her to hospital, good thing too. The national health in the Uk is so bad, she rang to get an appointment with the doctor and they said 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!! can you believe that, she had to see a nurse practitioner . Thank goodness my brother stopped in to see her.

After catching up with the housework yesterday had a visit from our daughter on her own for a change. She did her 2nd half marathon on Sunday and bettered her time by half an hour! She helped me sort out photos so I can update some of our frames on the wall. Lots of fun. She's also had Harvey Norman's make a hard cover book with her favourite wedding photos. I'm thinking of doing the same with some family photos, I liked it so much and they have some specials all tne time.

mom is home now, they did a scan and the lung is now clear so the injections theywere giving her in her stomach did the trick, wish she had stayed in longer though, they ship them out too soon.

I've never heard of these magic injections. Are they rat poison ones? (Forgot the real name). But I'm so pleased your Mum is ok.
I'm watching the snow fall as I type this (clever eh?) but hopefully it won't settle. It's a bit too wet I think. If you are coming this morning, Sue, rug up warm. At least it's for coffee not some outdoor activity. I have brought the work cell phone home in case people start pulling out. LOL.

Ended up cancelling women's group yesterday then the schools started closing so we closed our other programmes as well and stayed at home. Just as well, it got so bad. It was -6 when we woke this morning!! so climbed back into bed until 8am. I. was only at work half an hour before being sent home and schools still closed so thats me at home as well. At least the sun is shining today although bitterly cold still. Knitting and cross stitch plans for today.

not sure if it was Warfarin or not , i know i got an injection in the stomach after my op to stop blood clots, not nice. Can't believe how much snow we got yesterday, started at 7.30am here and didnt stop all day, we got about 8 inches of not more, of course the eastern suberbs were the worst hit..again. Nice and sunny today but very cold, have to go to work this afternoon, can't see the Mall being very busy though.

There is 10 inches still on my back yard. Didn't melt much yesterday at all. I. was home with me so we ventured out for a coffee by afternoon. Had scraped all the snow of the windscreen and windows but stuff on roof was frozen solid so left it there. BUT when we braked at an intersection it slid off in one lump and covered the windscreen!!!!! Lucky we were far enough away from the car in front to not cause any damage and we inched our way into the carpark to clear it. I noticed there was a police car in the car park with the same problem. Never occurred to me that would happen. Bit scary!

Early start this morning despite being Saturday. I. had to go to work to catch up on the days he missed because of the snow.Not sure what to do with myself after the basic laundry and dishes. LOL. Not warm enough to potter in the garden to fix the damage and still quite a bit of snow around despite the rain over night. I guess family will turn up at some point and I need to go look for a birthday present for B3 who is 4 next week. Imagine that!

Where has the time gone grizzly the next thing you know he will be off to school. No have'nt heard about my xrays but my back has settled again so I am not worried. No inflamation now. My daughter has gone up to her sisters to get J ready for her first ball. She is nearly 17. I am babysitting M and J. Little J had his ECG yesterday which was horrif and he chocked throughout the procedure and so they had to intubate him, etc. The great thing is his condition has repaired itself and he no longer needs aspirin . We are so relieved. He will need to lead a healthy lifestyle of course but no more checks. Yah. He still has a lousy immune system and could have relapses of Kawasakis but now we know what to look for we can get him in early for treatment to insure that there is less liklihood of him having heart probelms. He was a box of birds last night and is causing havoc today lol.

That is such a relief!!You must be so relieved. I watched L5 The one who wants to be a vet when he grows up) at the programme yesterday rescue a Monarch butterfly that was lying in the snow. He insisted on taking it home and warming it up and wouldn't you know it he released it to fly away in the sunshine this morning. Love that boy's heart!
