| MORNING ALL Jugs on for drinks. Listing more fabrics today to sell. there is no way I can sew all the fabric I have stored so out it goes. Well 75% of it anyways. LIst a good pile every month. (takes a lot of time listing, measuring photo etc then listing. Not a job I like but it wont sell sitting in my garage or sewing room. Will need lots of potion and zeros plus coffeezzzzzzz to do this. Have a SUPA DUPA day all. dilligaf_dah - 2014-08-29 07:46:00 |
| Where can I buy reasonably priced satin ribbon (3 or 4mm and 6 or 7mm). Online preferably, thank you grant151 - 2014-08-29 14:34:00 |

| Just popping in again to show that I have been busy. My niece gave me her Canteen Bandanna Duvet Cover that her mum (my sister) had made and said I could have it. She knew I made quilts from bandannas and was happy for me to unpick it and use the fabric. So over the last couple of weekends I have had a production line going sewing 2½" squares and black fabric (all from the unpicked duvet cover) Here's the result - two lap sized quilt tops: http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/full/330719005.jpg Random and scrappy but I love the results. Now to add a back and have a go at quilting again. yduj - 2014-08-30 21:03:00 |
| I love them. The colours show up well with the black. What are you going to make next? ffloss - 2014-08-30 22:28:00 |
| Cover girl Yduj, great looking quilts skippie1 - 2014-08-31 09:42:00 |
| they are awesome judy well done. black does make the colours stand out eh. dilligaf_dah - 2014-08-31 16:46:00 |
| Thanks guys - the 'duvet cover' I unpicked had intact bandannas and lots of black calico as sashing and the back so it was an obvious choice to use the black again when I made these. I did not have patterns for either new quilt top but worked out what to do on graph paper from a couple of photos of other people's quilts. I'm a fan of Bonnie K Hunter and her scrap quilts. I am thinking I might work on something made of men's cotton shirts. I have collected a lot and cut the usable fabric from them . . . . will need to come up with a pattern first. yduj - 2014-08-31 19:23:00 |
| Judy did you know that Bonnie Hunter is coming to Aussie next year to do workshops. I also love her quilts. skippie1 - 2014-08-31 20:30:00 |

| hello - popping my head in to see how everyone is. Been really busy with tutoring (home schoolers) and other bits and pieces lately. Put a large order in with Missouri Star Quilt Company on Monday - can't wait till it arrives. New templates, etc plus some fabric. It will feel like Christmas come early. I expect (and hope) to have more time on my hands after the elections. Happy crafting everyone..... jugs on for those who want coffee barbrose - 2014-09-10 11:49:00 |
| Jugs on for drinks help yourselves. Have a great weekend all. dilligaf_dah - 2014-09-12 11:27:00 |
| Brrrrr bit chilly today after the 22 deg C temps f the last few days. Should be sewng but have sat down in front of the fire and don't want to move. Next weekend I am going to swap my bedroom and sewing room over. I will move into the smaller room, so mum and I have more room to play in the sewing room. Looking forward to the move. barbrose - 2014-09-14 15:34:00 |
| Barb, I love that idea - especially as you will get lots of use in the bigger room. I hope it has a sunny aspect, as my sewing room does. Finished one of the two quilts I showed further up the page and sent it off to my sis as she will be sending it to her daughter in the UK. Am working on a blue baby quilt for a friend's new grandson due at Xmas. All done except the binding which I'll do in front of the TV. I love binding quilts because it means I'm on the home straight and it all comes together beautifully. Yes cold here today - ah well good excuse to sit in front of the heater and bind a quilt. yduj - 2014-09-14 18:54:00 |
| Good evening .... Started moving stuff from one room to the other today. My brother is coming on Sunday and we will do the big move then but I was trying to get as much done by myself as possible. I am sure that if I hadn't had a visitor not long after lunch, I would have got my bed moved but she stayed till 5pm so I never got back to finish the job. Back to work again tomorrow so will probably have to wait till Sunday now. But clearing up was a good exercise - I now have about 2 dozen craft books to list. They are beautiful books but they had been in boxes for more than 2 years so somebody else might enjoy them. Will take me ages to list them. barbrose - 2014-09-16 22:30:00 |
| Jugs on for drinks. Barb hope the move goes smoothly. Have a supz dupa evening all. dilligaf_dah - 2014-09-17 17:38:00 |
| I wonder where Jumbodon (I think that was her name.) is. She was on here earlier on in the year and made some lovely quilts and had a great sense of humour. I enjoyed her posts and was wondering if she was ok. ffloss - 2014-09-17 19:10:00 |
| But but but I posted a reply this morning. Dilli told me floss had asked and I felt a bit small...belying the true me which is anything but small! Have crocheted three granny throws after skippie taught me how to and now crocheting a knitted Peggy square blankie together. This morning I finally finished the signatures for this year's swap so now can get on with some stitching. Thank you for missing me floss...I have been naughty by not popping in but have read the past pages and see you are all being productive. jumbobon - 2014-09-18 13:25:00 |
| Glad to see you are back Jumbobon. I did miss you and enjoyed your posts and the quilts you made. You were like a conveyer belt churning out those quilts. ffloss - 2014-09-18 16:12:00 |
| I'm not a machine...you should see what skippie does! jumbobon - 2014-09-18 19:01:00 |

| Good morning ....I woke up at 5.30 which is like the middle of the night for me. For some reason I looked outside on the deck and there was my parcel from Missouri Star Company. It feels like Christmas. The package was so well wrapped that it took me 10 minutes to open it! The panel (cats and quilting) and layer cake (Christmas collection) are gorgeous - far nicer than I expected. I also bought some templates and cutters, gloves, marking pencils and 5 metres of heat 'n bond which only cost about $3 NZ. GUESS WHAT I WANT TO DO TODAY - only I can't because the sewing room has been dismantled ready for the move on Sunday. barbrose - 2014-09-19 07:14:00 |
| Wow Barb that sounds awesome. WIl make the change move more interesting as youll have some fun things to do in the new room. dilligaf_dah - 2014-09-19 07:58:00 |
| Hi ladies, haven't posted for awhile as getting over an infected jawbone...very ouch! Barb what is the postage like from Missouri? I have ordered from Craftsee before but it took three weeks to get here via New York, Portugal and London. I have almost finished a jelly roll quilt top (very similar to one of the bandanna quilts above) just got to order some border fabric which Grandmothers Garden has. The jelly roll was from Craftsy. It's very bright and Japanezee (is that a word? lol) vivz2 - 2014-09-19 14:20:00 |
| Cool, Viv - show and tell once you are done. I have a baby's quilt on the go and am just finishing some final simple quilting so hopefully will be done over the weekend. yduj - 2014-09-19 18:17:00 |
| Japanezee must be a word cos I just read it on your post! Everyone vote today? Muttley is watching the election reports on TV with much pleasure...but sadly I do not hold the same high interest....but I have crocheted some squares for another granny blanket tonight. Another day tomorrow should see more progress. Your fabric sounds awesome bar...a photo maybe? jumbobon - 2014-09-20 22:09:00 |
| didn't watch the election here. with prime instead much more interesting. dilligaf_dah - 2014-09-20 23:16:00 |
