i cooked myself a lamb steak one night and chopped up the whites (as per the advice in my thread) pan fried them in the residue that contained rosemary, added a splash of white wine and olive oil was so delish i now save the whites to cook this way when having lamb or beef steak

Good morning everyone,
well ... today is the day!
My car is packed & I'm ready to go.
The wee bach was signed up by someone else at 2.30pm yesterday afternoon so I'm heading to the campground in my tent until I find a new home. I was gutted initially when I found out but now I've got my positive cap back on & firmly believe there must be something better for me!
Atleast I won't have to worry about snow on my tent up there lol :)

Winnie,I know how you feel,we missed out on a house yesterday,that also was signed up by someone else,but like you said something better will come along.
I am not sure if I told you,but we have been asked to move,as they want house for family,and also it is not so good here for my asthma,so we are house hunting.
It will all be good,just know it will.

Have a good journey Rae. Just had four days in Nelson and it's spring there! It's amazing how much earlier the seasons change up there. We didn't get out as far as Marahou as daughter was on call but I'll try to get out to see you at the start of October - hopefully in your new home. Enjoy your dancing on the beach, being so much closer to Miss 14, the Nelson wine .... and best of luck with the job interviews.

I had a brilliant drive up from Chch ... felt like I had the road to myself most of the way. Marahau is looking as gorgeous as ever - just like a postcard :)
I have my tent set up & got a great discount on my camping fees so very happy there. This update is coming to you via torchlight on the campgrounds wireless internet which only costs $5 p/h so happy there too. My internet doesn't work as the cell phone net is not up to it but that's ok. A small price to pay for being in a beautiful place that doesn't shake!!
Will go into the village tomorrow & spread the word on my housing needs - the right place will be there for me!!!

Our recipe has cauli mix mash on top, but you could do potato for DH. The meat mix is one of Jo's recipes and is very nice. Has a dash of cinnamon in it which is magic.

Hi everyone,
I'm doing fine here in paradise in my tent. Went for a walk along the famous Abel Tasman Coastal Track today - 15km in total ... and now I have very sore feet but a very happy spirit! It is just so beautiful here :)
Job interview's at 10am in the morning & I am picturing myself in the role! Will let you know my news as soon as I have some.

Hi everyone,
my interview went very well. Thanks for all the good wishes.
I don't find out if I have the job until Monday so I've driven over to Golden Bay to spend a couple of days with Miss 14. Her reaction on getting home & finding me waiting for her was priceless!! Talk about surprised lol! She nearly squeezed my breath away I was hugged so tight!
Now she's busy in the kitchen preparing dinner ... I'm so proud of her :D

Best of Luck Winnie I have my fingers crossed for you.
Things continue to be busy for me....Work ticks along and hours are back to normal which is a relief. Still training 3-4 mornings a week so am happy about that. Can't cycle theTaupo relay this year as I have another committment which is a bit of a shame and also makes the cycling a bit more time consuming as everyone in the group is building up there km's for the event... which I am not doing...
Fathers day was a lovely relaxed day, hubby had great plans to do just what he wanted to do, which was.....go to a Car Cub breakfast (They have it the first Sunday of every month) and then to the Fathers Day Drags, but when he went to wash the car it had no WOF... so we had him for the daywhich was lovely.
Hope everyone else is keeping well.

OK ... the news is ... I didn't get the supervisors position but do have a job in the customer service/sales team if I want it :) For only $1p/h less and a WHOLE lot less stress - seems like an ok deal to me!
I don't start until 17th Oct so lots of time to go walking, kayaking & boating in the national park until then :D
The other news is I now live in a cabin at the campground for the same price as I was paying in my tent! Nice people here!!! And I can have it until mid Oct so plenty of time to find a real home :)
