I, as usual, acquired the panel and the polarfleece backing from op shops and used lots of jelly roll strips for the border (given to me by my quilter sister). I have almost finished quilting it, some wavy lines, some ¼" outlines, the main part where the pink is with the little spotsis now finished with lots of different sized circles which I marked by using pot lids, cups, eggcups etc. to get a range of sizes. I'm not sure what I want to do with the cat and balloon section - maybe attempt some free motion squiggles! I'm not keen on outlining anything in this section as there are no clear breaks, the balloons overlap other balloons and also the cats. | 46279 | I love binding quilts by hand because it means I am nearly finished and get to see the final result. The border on this doesn't quite show that it is a little too bright (in my opinion) and it wasn't until I had sewn all the strips and was pressing them that I realised that the 'wrong' side of the fabric strips was a much better match. Ah well, the recipient will not judge! I have enjoyed doing this little baby quilt as it's done fairly quickly. As for my next project, I have UFOs that need dealing to.
