| 46211 | Hi all, like Barbroses Christmas bears, I've been hibernating... but busy quilting... Christmas deadline fast approaching and for once I've made it with time to spare. Not sure if I've shown you this one... I pieced it earlier in the year but now its a real quilt! The back... The gorgeous border... man I love this fabric! Close up of the star quilted block (the border is done in this too but doesn't show well... but thats ok coz the cats are the real stars) Back of the border... And the other block quilting... Still a label to be made and sewn on... putting it off... makes it more final that I really am giving it away LOL? And another wee project... an advent calendar... a bit of a cheats project as it was a fabric panel but I added beads and sequins to it oh and the prairie points border was fun to do too! Gosh Judy thats a lovely bookshelf quilt you made for your sister! Very special! Its true... practise is the key... doing a little and often makes a HUGE difference! I am just a beginner patchworker and have just finished a quilt top and now I have to quilt it which I am not looking forward to. It must be difficult quilting on the machine with all the bulk. Nothing wrong with just stitching in the ditch, its the base for quilting... almost every seam is ditched on this one! | 46237 | Feeling very excited .... Got a call this afternoon to say I have won a $3000 shopping spree. Twenty local businesses have given $150 vouchers for me to spend. No fabric shops sadly but I will be able to use all the vouchers without having to spend more money. One is for $150 worth of fish and chips and has to be spent before end of February ....I think a family picnic will be organised pretty soon.
