I know the feeling Calista. One of ours diappeared and it didn't ever turn up. I was sure it would when both boys left and I blitzed their bedrooms but no. Since that time I have definitely cleaned every cupboard in the house at least once but still no luck - the sock gremlin obviously needed a phone too.
Winnie I expect you've seen http://www.tourism.net.nz/region/nelson/nelson---abel-tasman
-national-park/
but in case you haven't it has quite a good summary of the various things that go on in the park. There's an amazing number of tours and activities now aren't there - when we first went there 25 years ago there were DoC huts and the water taxi service and that's about it.

Morning all,
it's my last week! Wow, what a year :)
The shakes we had on the weekend did not endear me to Chch .... can't wait to be able to fully relax again ...
Thanks greerg - think I've found most info available on the Abel Tasman by now.
Better run, have a great day xx

Nice day in Christchurch - destined to get to 18 degrees, which is impressive even in summer. I will be off work again with a nasty cold - silly me I had some Lemsip, and it set off my gastritis so I have been feeling quite miserable. The sun will cheer me up, plus the roofer will finally be making emergency repairs to my bedroom roof from the damage of the September earthquake.

Waving to Julie, what a lovely lady you are, your posts make me smile.
Pam I love sunrise, that sounds so beautiful, and you are so busy.
Sumstyle glad it is a lovely day over there, and hope you get better real soon.
Glad they are starting to do repairs for you.
To everyone else have a wonderful day

I know, quite bizarre in a way "emergency" repairs, but some of the delay is my fault for being too patient and not asking what was going on.

Nearly hump day for you, winnie!

Sometimes we have to stop and take stock of our lifestyles....after many years of working up to 120 hr fortnights with two jobs , a year ago I gave away my daytime work...love now being home during the day ...still work nights ,downside is I only have four nights in a row in my own bed each 14 nights..We don't miss the extra money thankfully and I'm now cooking better meals, reading books and doing my much loved crafts. My inner wellbeing is sooo much better.

Good grief - 120 hours! So glad you've given that up jb, I imagine it would be pretty soul-destroying to have to keep up that kind of effort long term.

I think JB meant 120 hours a fortnight... but even so 60 hours a week is immense.
So glad you are taking some time off mid week Pam, I am going to start to take some time off soon, the new lady is coming up to speed and I have to learn to trust that I am not indespensible. I want to do some spring cleaning as well, my first goal is my bedroom... you can hardly walk in my walk in wardrobe.
I haven't been well... again, the Dr said on Friday she thought it may have been Flu, if it was then i was let off mildly as although unwell... I was not dreadfully unwell.. so spent all weekend in bed while hubby and the girls went away for a family 21st.... very depressing. Still on the mend now.

Have a Holiday to look forward to at long last, have just booked 8 nights on the Gold Coast with my girls and parents. Will be a lovely time for the 3 generations to connect (leaving hubby a home). Have booked a fab 3 bedroom apartment on floor 36 of the Chevron Renaissance. Wanted something central so the girls are in the middle of everything.. and 36 floors up we wont hear it. Can't wait!!!!!!!

So thats me... off to get ready for work.

Take Care JBx

It sounds like some of you will need to come & visit me in the beautiful Abel Tasman for a holiday!!!

I just had my last day of 'school' today :) I can't quite believe it yet ... I was in the office speaking with the campus manager when it dawned on me that I'd made it ... and nearly started crying! I've got about 2hrs of work left on my last assignment before emailing it in tomorrow and then, come next week it's time to start writing a new chapter :)

Get-together this Sun afternoon in Chch to say byebye to me & make some new friends amongst yourselves. I'd like to change the location though as I've just heard that Oderings Cafe in Barrington reopens tomorrow for the 1st time since Feb 22 & I think it's a more central location. Plus I like it :)
So hope to see you on Sun at 2.30pm in Oderings Cafe, entrance is off Stourbridge St, Barrington. I'm the one with short bright red hair :)

Mmmm, goes to show that you have had way too much on too toadfish!...very easy to get run down isn't it? Yes, I find that running the shop, the website, trademe sales is sometimes a bit much, but I am the only one who knows how to d everything in the website...processing orders, uploading items with descriptions etc, so it does take alot of my time. I still love it though, just need to get a bit of balance.

Winnie, is Oderings cafe on the Orbiter route? Transport (bike/bus)depends on weather for me.

calista - 2011-08-25 18:27:00
4577

Hi Calista - yes it is. That's another reason why I thought it would be ok. The Orbiter stops on Barrington St by Barrington Mall & Oderings is on Stourbridge St which is just opposite (Shell service station is on the Barrington/Stourbridge corner & Oderings entrance is next to Shell)
Edited to add - #8, #11 & #20 all go to Barrington too if that's any help .

I had problems a while a go and I went over on a quiet day and asked them for their landlords number saying we needed to talk to them about a building consent. I then rang the landlord and said do you you own the house at "blah blah blah" he said yes. So I said fantastic, very politely the next time they keep us awake I will call you, just so i can share the experience of being kept awake with you. He was a pleasant older man.... and I never had to ring him lol.

Morning all, thoroughly enjoying my weekend of relaxing,
Dropped Mum & Dad off to the airport yesterday, they are off to see the Brown Bears of Alaska... and cruising around the area. This was the trip they were planning when Dad had his heart attack, so just under a year from when he had the heart attack they are off.... what a great turn out for the books.
Enjoy the weekend ladies....

Morning,-
morning and what a glorious day. Toadfish, they must be so excited to finally be doing their trip. I bet they will have a ball. We have the landlords address and have written him a letter. It would not be hard to find his phone number. Off to the farmers market shortly then out into the vege garden. We have broad beans that luckily seem ok after being covered in a thick layer of snow! silverbeet, beetroot and leeks all growing well. Want to get somme seed potatoes today and have a good weed.

Broad beans yuk lol,we use to blow them up when we were kids, with fire crackers, lol lol

For the last few weeks I have been keeping well, but we still need to move on,so have been chasing a house that has a fence, gas fire, dishwasher,it is everything we are looking for,the only thing we have a wee dog,so fingers and toes crossed, staying positive here.
