the ones without cream are as issued by nz post on standing order ,and probably from the box roll .
do not think from what i have seen /got, new and used that the cream is a fault item somehow .Still a chat with post philatelic may shed some light ? you think ?

With the British Commonwealth stuff should I price it at half SG price ?
Or auction them?
Should I sell them by a whole country or indiviually ?

Put up a scan/good photo of your average valued items and test the market starting at a Dollar.

That is if you have not gotten the opinions of of other Collectors, like in a Stamp Club to guide you.

As a NZ based stamp dealer I usually sell British Commonwealth and foreign at NZ$1 for every 1 pound in SG.. As a collector you may want to sell slightly lower than that.

It's an 1878 NZ Queen Victoria Postal Fiscal - you'll find it on Jury 2012 page 97 or Mowbray 2010 Kiwi Cat page 10 - reasonable fiscally used copies are recorded in the latter at $2 - postally used FU CV $125 in Jury

I recently bought an item from a dealer on this site.
He had numerous blue faces and of that about 50% red faces.

As buyer I would have liked to know what conditions led to these face.

Now only 1000 feedback are shown and none of these contained any blue or red faces, which is good for the seller who has 'improved' his selling skills which now could be taken at face value.

Why then show any totals of red & blue faces if not visible to a buyer in the 1000 feedbacks ?

If no B&R feedbacks are reflected in the 1000 feedbacks, why show the total B&R faces ?

Since my previous similar request the visible feedbacks were reduced from 2000 to 1000.

Yes! The Christchurch Stamp & Postcard Fair will be on this Saturday at the Philatelic Centre 67 Mandeville St in Riccarton. Come and meet your favorite Trademe sellers or buyers 9am to noon. Ten sellers tables, so should be some good bargains to be had.

The Fairs are held 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month, except January 3rd Saturday only. There are members of the Timaru Stamp Club who regularly car pool to the Fair. I am sure if you contact them they will sort something out.

Help !

The last three or so months I get (welcome) buyers that bid and pay for their loot but never provide their address to forward the items.

Repeated requests are made via email and TM but no response is forthcoming.
TM is requested to help and do, as well as give advice how to proceed.
The latter is laborious and unnecessary time consuming to all involved.

Draconian approaches like giving negative feedback to jolt then into action is counter productive even though they may be reversed at a later date.

Anyone here who has some workable solution or system to encourage supplying buyer addresses would be welcome as this is hardly unique ?

Have one at the moment. No amount of contact or Admin chasing them has yielded an address to send out to.

Absolutely frustrating to say the least.
Another good reason fior buyers to provide their addresses with each won bid.

Would or could there be any negatives if buyers provide theiir addresses ??

Anyone like to venture an opinion ?

had one a few weeks back ,paid on the same day as winning but it took 3 weeks and several emails to extract the address to send item too .its a hard one to figure out for sure .and you cant re`list, or give a refund as you don't know whats going on

Perhaps we should send the purchased material plus their payment to TradeMe in Trust for the buyer to claim from them !

Were this ongoing on a bigger scale I could go into the Storage business LOL

On the line - Shift your paid Storage material to US and keep moving !!

There is currently a 'dare' CAL on this site - jovially meant - Advertising !.

Could this stamp get a certificate of genuineness that is internationally accepted ?

I am the seller of the "NZ Art Festival" CAL, cheap at $1800. Very scarce stamp, only the second one we have had. Sold the mint copy on Trade Me about six months ago for $2000. If you have an issue with it being genuine you can ask question on the auction. I assure you it is the real thing.
You can get certificate from Royal Philatelic Society, $70 for members or $140 for non members. Regards Gary.

The merits of it being a postage stamp, lable, CAL or called by an other name may be debatable to the point that it was afterall used as prepayment of mail.

Off course it is nice to have a very rare item in ones collection to show off but the clincher is the comforting of having a Certificate.

Such Certifacate is only issued IF the item could be proven genuine. There may be criteria that may render the item not certifiable.
The Year and type of cancellation may be the key issue for genuine usage, then a Expertiser should not have a problem with certification.

Has anyone obtain a Certificate for a similar stamp ?

WRONG!!!
If you enter a stamp for expertising at the Royal or any other credible expertising Association you get a certificate stating what the stamp is in their opinion eg Fake ,reperfed, regummed ,rebacked ,genuine ,condition etc etc etc.The Royal will also identify it to its cat # in CP,SG and Scott.

rebel58 - 2012-12-05 19:48:00

The advantage of dealing with a member of the NZSDA is that they have a code of conduct, in it self could be a guarantee of Authenticity.
In some cases the cost of a certificate is not cost efficient where as a dealers guarantee sometimes is .Eg Imagine another $140.00 on to the cost of a stars error?
I would take the dealer in that case.

So what you are saying is that the Expertiser takes your money (for identifying a forgery) and provides a certificate for that.
Normally some prior communcation is involved to establish if the stamp or item is worthwhle to expertise. Then either a flat rate for many items or % per item is negotiated. Forgeries were usually marked marked by the Expertiser and only genuine ones got a certificate.
Well if they give a Certificate for everything some good may come of it - at a price.

It may refer to Circular Date Stamp which in these modern times are seen less and less.

You obviously have very little knowledge of the work that the Royal does and stamp collecting in general.Perhaps you should go to the Royal website and try to educate yourself .Knowledge is the key to stamp collecting and more often than not it is free but in some cases you have to pay.I have no problem paying Stamp club fees at the moment x 2 and would never ask for a bulk discount. The input from the two societies I am part of has been invaluable and by far out weighs the cost.
Hopefully you will look up the Royals website (no charge ,that means free)and look at the work that they do to expertise a stamp and what that certificate means. And good luck getting a discount off any recognized expertising organization.
