Welcome to the Coin Club. We are an assortment of newbies and oldbies, amateurs and experts with questions and answers for oldbies and newbies, amateurs and experts in coin collecting, also known as numismatics. Whether you are just getting started, have been collecting for years or have simply found some old coins about the place that you’d like to sell, this is the place to ask your questions.

No one has all the answers, and you may get five differing answers to the same question, yet each may be right in a manner of speaking, especially if opinions are involved. Opinions often vary. If you receive no answer to your query within 48 hours, please ask again.

Apparently to sweeten his auction up a little more to attract a bid

ah, I see. Well that's okay then. As long as you weren't insinuating that I might have applied some golden syrup to make my M&T look that extra bit more lustful!

My auction closed earlier than I expected. I must have set the finish time to am instead of pm!!

But Peter, every bid I have made has been sincere ie 100% willingness to pay my top bid should the reserve drop to it. But then again, ridiculous reserves do deserve ridiculous bids, which i think was Alan's motivation! 1:20 pm, Sun 7 Sep

this is his answer back to me Listing #: 775444081.....lol

Can anybody explain how an auction that has had an existing bid of $4200 reserve not met for a week have a new bid placed today with only a $5 increase made to $4205 and next bid will need to be $4215. Should be $50 increase at that level. See 774863521

Only TM can remove the Q&A but don't know why they would have as all legit posts by the bidder and seller. but still can't work out how that $4205 bid over an existing $4200 bid was possible when it wasn't an auto bid . Then it was showing a bid of $4215 was the next available bid that could be placed.

Do you mean the new, smaller ones with the outer copper layer missing? Odd that you found two of them. Here in Upper Hutt?

I assume they're still magnetic, though? The steel core rather than a total off-metal strike.

I gave a certain seller step-by-step guidance on managing her sales a year or three ago after she confessed to being disorganised - sounds like it may not have paid off.

If you have the 2013 or 2014 Bertrand, see the pictures and diagnostic details in the 'guide to recognising key varieties' (p. 17 in the 2014 edition).

Hi All.
If you check under the kiwi's chin you will see that a genuine 1946 flat back florin has 5 whiskers whereas the 1946 round back, and more common, has only 4 whiskers.

Everyone seen the 2015 Kiwis?.. Was really hoping that they would have continued on with the success of the recent low mintages.. The 2015 Gold Kiwis have a total mintage of 500 though, better grab a few of those.
