I should have come to your place skippie...we could have had a cuppa together...and a chitty chitty chat chat!
It is teeming with rain here today...and the paddocks resemble lakes. Luckily our soil is free draining and it won't stay around after it stops but in the meantime the horses might have to learn how to swim. The pet animals have shelter...so they will be nice and comfy.
Hopefully the shaking has eased for you in the centre of the country. We don't get the aftershocks here thank goodness. Yesterday's shake was good enough for me!

Morning... is it safe for me to come in this morning? Oooooh who would have thought my bouncing could have wreaked havoc like that... and all from way doon here??? So sorry! Hope all the shaky ones have managed some sleep... nice to see the puddy tats are well prepared too... but only one of them knows the drop, cover hold (the floor I'm guessing) drill LOL.

Hand sewing of binding is a slow process for Moi... didn't get far yesterday, mind you I was out all day, not home until after dinner... and by that time the eyes were blurry and the fingers said no more! Drizzling here today tho... perfect weather for hand sewing and catching up on tv and snuggles with the Sassy one... I'm sure she'll do her best to pin me to the sofa so I can sew!

Sounds like Skippie needs a little potion, pref the sleep version... her "jettle" is still hot tho ;-)

Good morning everyone! How are the movers and shakers doing today? It is almost 3 years now since our first big quake in Christchurch and my memory is pretty crappy but I still remember that night so well. Diving under the dining table, trying to get 2 autistic sons to follow, pulling mattresses in to lounge and sleeping together, making cups of tea for neighbours cos we had a logburner (with an intact chimney) and there was no electricity. Thinking of all of you:o)

well been out all morning shopping. went to a junk sale MrT bought a lap top and I got a web cam and owl that makes a noise when you walk pass it. then went to base and spent heaps on clothes and shoes for grandies

There are still some puddles here but the day has been sunny and warm. And still! I hope the ground has not moved in your parts either.

Good evening ....have been so busy the last few days I haven't even had time to read the posts ... Have just crawled into bed, totally exhausted. Had very early start this morning and then hosted a family gathering from midday till about 4.30. It was wonderful to be together but I am now shattered ... There were13 adults and 14 children. Tomorrow I am sleeping in :)

Morning all from the drizzly south... another early morning start here but resisted the urge to turn the puter on, went with the TV instead and am now half way round the binding after not getting any done yesterday... went on a bit of cleaning binge instead... silly me!

me been clearing out me garage this morning
have a lot of craft thread coming so had to make room.
Thanks for the cuppas while I was clearing it all out.
Been to the shop and filled the recycle clothing bins heheheeeeee
Now have to wait till tuesday to get rid of the rubbish and empty boxes.
Have two large boxes of fabric left there to go through and sort out what Id like and what Ill sell. so me is doing really well.
Jugs just boiled for a nice hot cuppa come and help yourself.
Have a great arvo all.
Have the slow cooker going for dinner tonite. Pork.

I have spent 4 hours weeding our strawberry bed, but we had to remove all the plants as we have roots from our neighbours tree running all though it, had to dig dirt out and get the roots was a very hard job , Mr T back is killing him now, mines semi sore did not work as hard . now for a nana nap

Sounds like everyone had a good day.
I stayed in bed till midday and then washed the living room floor (and believe me, there is a lot of floor as its a huge open plan lounge, dining, kitchen and entry all rolled into one) before shortening the curtains in the sewing room. They were floor length, now they are just below the sill. Then one daughter came round and gave me and Mum a manicure using nail gel. I feel very glam with deep purple nails. Mum goes to Australia tomorrow with my brother and his wife who have been over here visiting for the last week. The house will be very quiet and I expect I will get rather lonely. She will be away for two weeks. I have a girlfriend coming to stay next weekend and I am sure one or two grandie's would love a sleepover.

I did it. I made the world's worst Sock Quilt.

Now I just need to remove all the stitches, buy a walking foot, and redo the lot - my inner perfectionist is crying. But I got the pic of it into the contest and that is what matters.

I have multiple pin injuries on my left hand... I need to look at these pretty block patterns to recover. *coughs and hopes the boss will buy the excuse*

Yes Viv tis a lovely day, our temp thingi on the verandah said 20 degrees this arvo and it sure was warm. The washing dryed fast.
Been playing with Indie we did have fun, and sewn a couple of cushions.
