Hi ya everyone. Well after injections and different meds I seem to be standing up okay with just dimming headache. Sure it will fade into the sunset in time lol. I am taking it easy or no overseas trip for me. Did the ironing and managed to ruin a pair of trousers so maybe the meds are making me dopey as well as lethargic. Lol. Not funny reall they were my daughters and I will haveto confess tomorrow. Yikes.

Vampirousmist thank you so much for my goodies. My grandaughter who is 4 loves the Lego soaps and my 16 year old granddaughter used one of the others and said it was very nice to use. I had a good soak in the bath last night and used the chocolate bath salts which I really liked. They smell so divine. I know where I can get some lovely pressies from now. You will have to charge postage because you wont make any money. I have the box near my computer and that smells lovely as well.I could get high on it you know. HA HA.

hI armin59 welcome to our thread. Should be called The Days of Our Lives Lol. I can see you are another crazy crafts person. Talking about wool it has really gone up in price in some stores and I saw a pattern book reduced fron $42 to $36. Ha I won't be buying that. Also see you are from Christchurch so you are very lucky with grizzly and suzy there.

No, I don't own the Purple Patch, Armin59! Lol. It's run by a voluntary committee of members.
I do hope that headache moves on soon, makerealbany, it must be a week by now. Did you get no clues as to whats causing it? When do you go away?
Had a lovely day on Sturday with my daughter and B3. All the organising for the wedding has settled a bit for now. The address has arrived in Nz and will have to altered quite a bit because of her changing shape!!! Grrr. She is training fior the half marathin in Blenheim in May! Great timing to decide to do something like that!!!!
I. finished the brick edging around the new gardens yesterday after he managed to get some recylced bricks from friends broken chimneys. They were harder to get than we thought considering where we live. We also put in 4 hours painting at the shop. It is starting to look great and when we left plans were being made for the wheelchair ramps to go in. Once our friend B. can get in there and move around the shop freely she can organise where fittings have to go for best effect.
This week is going to be hard and I'm already struggling with flasbacks of things that I must have seen last Feb but hadn't remembered. I want to see the "City That Fell" movie on Wednesday night but 60 Minutes was bad enough last night. It sure doesn't feel like a year ago and all this stuff about it has started the anxiety a bit again. Bugger it!!! I see there was a couple of nasties up north this morning. Sigh.

No prblem Makerealnabny !I am glad you are enjoyinhg them ! I know how much postage is now for a small box so will start charging for it aswell. All postage is going up on the first of March :( If I were to put a small box of assorted soaps at 1 reserve do you think they would get anything ? They are ones that are damaged ect but still usable !

I hope that headacge goes away soon too, Ive woken up sick this morning so not a happy chappy. Day off work though so that is good for it.

Hope everyone has a lovely day ! I am waiting for a courier with baking soda, anouther for cocoa butter and anouther for some zodiac moulds :D If they come today it will be craft day :D

Also, I ordered fondant cutters, the lady emailed me to say the box ha been misplaced, and sh e had sent anouther and redirected the first back to her. On Saturday I received both packages, so Now I have a double quantity.. What would you guys do in this situation ? Tell the seller and ask if they want the extras back or what ?

Help appreciated, sorry for the such long and random post !

Hi, do the honest thing and tell the seller, in all likelyhood I think she would tell you to keep it, she will appreciate your honesty and your conscience will be clear. Just to get in first I will tell you I'm a crapey speller, had great pondering over a word up there, but it's more important to enjoy reading what people have to say than edit their writing. Just picked up a job description from a posh school, it's decile 9, has 3 maori families out of 300 families, staff looked all dressed up. I'm used to decile 2 and spot the white kid if your'e lucky, had a ucky feeling about this school, but need a job, what would you do?

armin59 - 2012-02-20 13:31:00
4457

Just emailed armin and said I rceived both boxes, asked if the seller would like me to return the extra items. Cleared my conscience and you never know !

My cousin went to a very high profile school - Junior College and some of Senior college, not sure what docile, but extremely high. Alot of Asian decent and European, my cousin is half Fijian, he was pretty much the ONLY pacific islander in the whole school :P Extremely expensive school too ! He is now at a different one though as he didn't get the scholarship he was hoping.

Will def be watching "When a city falls" on Wednesday, will be sad, but will get to see a lot of footage that we have not seen before as we had no power for 3 weeks after the Feb 22nd quake. Didn't feel right going to the movies to see it. Also been watching "A shocking reminder "on Prime , part one was last week and part two tonight at 8.30. All just seems so surreal, like we are watching another city in another country, wish it was.

Hi grizzly. Headache seems to have gone ah what bliss fingers crossed. Who knows what caused it. Unless I have a scan. Too darn expensive.to do that. My meds have been changed so maybe settleing down period. Back is starting to settle again. Just aching and no sharp pains now. go away a week from today so I was a bit worried. Lol.I saw that programme on Tv as well and having read the Sunday papers I know what Suzy means. Some people are still living in awful conditions.

4460

Yes Vampiriousmist I would auction them at a $1 reserve. They are fab soaps and if they dont look too great it would not worry me. Yes the seller will be pleased to hear from you. Mistakes happen so easily. Once I was sent a huge men's top by mistake and the poor seller was so relieved when I emailed her. My top arrived not long after. lol.

Armin 59. Go with your gut instinct. Whenever I ignore that I end up wishing that I hadn't. It is all about where you feel you fit in. Or you could bite the bullet, apply and if it doesn't work out look for something else. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Suzy, are you going to the memorial service in the park, my daughter is at uni and they have the day off after 11am so we might go in, depends how I feel.I will never forget sitting on the artificial cricket pitch at Northcote School hugging a terrified 10 year old boy. We could hear so many sirens and the pitch was rolling, so scarey, all I could think about was that Hayley said she was going to study in the library at uni which is 8 levels, Kelly was at C.P.I.T nursing, Bradley was at home and husband 4th floor of Princess Margaret, red brick old dungger. I freak out when I hear sirens now, one is o/k but two brings it all back. There I was worrying so much but cuddling Robert a wee foster boy, infact I think more like he was cuddling me and I was bawling. Hayley didn't go to the library, had come home. Kelly ran out of Tech and saw the Catholic Cathedral come down. P.M.H stayed intact. It's going to be hard on Wednesday, but my family are safe the house is not broken too much and I have my dogs to hug, they hate earthquakes too. Just so glad Mum died before all this land movement started she would have hated it, she's safe in the cemmetry up by Cheviot. Although poor Grandad aged 80 has to have the house rebuilt, it's held up with bracing at the moment, how will he cope with that? Well this is a big earthquake rant, makes me feel a bit better though. My school, our church, favourite building (provincial chambers) music centre, Cathedral, craft shop they are all gone, got married in that church, had Mum's funeral, Bradley played Phantom of the Opera on the grand piano, now it's all gone, even the piano. Sucks big time. Haven't had any quakes for a while, shutup stupid, don't say that, you know what will happen now, just when you think it's settled BOOM. Sorry for my ecclectic rant, I had a head injury, some silly tart turned right infront of me and wrote my motorbike off and my head, my thoughts tend to wander, that's when I can remember them. Goodnight new crafty friends. If there's a quake tonight it's my fault, I jenxed us.xx

Big hugs to you Christchurch friends. Hope tomorrow goes okay. It is my Mums 85th Birthday tomorrow so I had better not forget that!! My grandson is still at the army base doing his 6 weeks. Hope he is ok I have not heard from him but my youngest son has. Once. He is nearly halfway through. He just loves Christchurch. Told me he is at peace there. Strange boy. We worry like hell and he is oblivious.

Makerealbany, I thought your grandson was at university down here or have I missed something?
I'm not looking forward to today. It's not very comfortable at work with employment issues going on with another worker so not a great place to be today of all days.I plan to keep very, very busy!

Are the employment issues the same as last week?? Not a nice situation to be in.
Watched a bit of the memorial service today, but really hate remembering, would rather look forward. Took my little dog and R's little dog to see my friend who is looking after them both on my daughters wedding day, theyboth got on really well with her little dog, so thats good, i can stop worrying now. only a week and a half to go, unbelievable it has gone so fast.
Actually finishing some ufo's for Purple patch this evening, have to get my a into g again.

Hi grizzly. Yes my grandson was at uni but did not pass enough of his course because he was not motivated enough. Being unemployed has taught him a much needed lesson. grrrrrr Anyway winz gave him a choice of the army basic training for 6 weeks or Outdoor Experience. I heard from him tonight and he says he can only make a call each fortnight. Ha ha. He gets up at 5.30 which he is getting used to. He said he can polish his shoes really well and really quickly. He learnt that after doing extra yard exercise because his shoes were not polished enough. Making his bed was a bonus lol. He is even ironing his clothes. He seems quite proud of what he is achieving so that is good. He says they have a big Employment Workshop tomorrow. Says he has a few injuries but too be expected!!!!!!! Hope the day went ok girl.

Packaging looks interesting vampiriousmist. Tangerine sounds great too. I can smell it from here. Tried the butterscotch lip balm today and miss 4 tried to borrow it. Told me she really needs some. She just keeps licking her lips all the time so her Mum wont let her have the containers. I like it. I will get some more after my holiday. It is only for 5 days as that is all the time My daughter could get off work. B----ger it.

That really confused me, suzy59nz! Yes it is the same stuff, we have meeting with employment lawyer this morning to get advice before taking any further action.
I watched 'The City That Fell" last night as well. I was very grateful it was a gentle approach. My son, who is still living on the east side with his family, has sensurround on his tv. Silly man had a couple of frights during the movie thinking it was actually real earthquakes again. It was the sound of it all again that affects me the most and really weird how the weather matched last year as well. As I type this the news on tv is saying there is still a 13% chance of another 6-6.4 within the next 12 months. We know the stats can they, please just shut up about it? I don't go anywhere without working out the what if risks, for goodness sake, it's part of life now.

oh dear Grizzly, sounds like it has gone firther than you thought at work, not good. Would you believe just over a week to go to the wedding and Rebecca still has not finished the bridesmaid dresses, think she is bringing them around for me to hem them by hand on monday.
I watched "when a city falls" last night, so glad we didnt have surround sound.
I too wish they would stop reminding us that we may still get another good shake, we all know this we are experts now it has happend 4 times . They keep talking about the Alpine fault, great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just off to work so have a good evening everyone

Thank you, Armin, I will let you know. You could look out for some free exterior white paint, though. We need about 40 litres.

Wow Those scents sound wonderful, vampiriousmist!

I think I am letting stuff get on top of me a bit over the last couple of days. I have done an extra 5 hours at work this week plus painting and phone calls and running down to shop to meet people to do quotes. I am going to try and have a break today but saying family is here for tea and I have to go to Lincraft for supplies for the Women's Group next week. Mmmmmm.... may not be much of a break.

Hi grizzly i am off work this week, doing final wedding things, so if there is anything you want me to do give me a shout ok.... so long as i dont break my nails lol.......( been growing them for the wedding ) less than a week away now, can't believe it.
Looking forward to womans group on Wednesday, will give me a break from wedding thoughts. I have never been to Lincraft, will have to go for a drive next week, Bush inn right?
Going to email Bunnings see what they can do for us for paint, they can only say no.

Suzy, No point in working in shop if you are worried about your nails my hands are a mess! Good luck with Bunnings. I have a paint request on TM and we are in the Resene paintwise sheme but could take a while to get anything. Waterblasting has been done. C and B have booked another day at Barrington, 23rd March I think.

Grizzly you are seriously overdoing it. What with all the work for the shop as well. How come you are doing it all. Isn't there a committee? You will wear yourself out. I know what I am talking about. Did not even hear from the Community Organisation I slogged my guts out for when My grandson was really ill and they were informed by a friend. I do not miss all that work ho ho. But honestly girl stand back and take a breather. Sometimes people will just let you work and work not even thinking that you could be a bit stretched and other times we are too slow to ask for help for ourselves. I have been lazing around for 2 days now and loving it. Lol. My bag is just about there. I had a pedicure anda manicure yesterday and it was so relaxing. I had never had a pedicure before. I then met a friend for lunch and later in the day I visited another friend. This is the life. I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. Ha ha.

Sounds lovely, I slept for an hour on the couch when I got back from the shop yesterday but I can say now the painting is done except for the final coat in the main bathroom which one of the husbands has taken on as his project. Just waiting now for the architraves around 3 doors to go in so they can be painted, and the ramps and floor sheets in front part of shop. A new member who hasn't even signed up yet turned up yesterday to offer his help which was nice. This is finalising carpet quotes and trying to find a carpet layer if we decide to go the 2nd hand way when we see the price. And checking out what fittings we actually have in storage and what we need to replace. One of the committee cleaned out the big cupboard in the room we are going to use for craft classes and started putting in some of the shop stuff which felt great. Suzy's got the job of dealing with the landlord re drainage and trying to get us some exterior paint urgently.

Yes those new flavours sound very pleasing vampiriousmist. I have never made massage bars so can't help you there. Had another lovely soak in the bath last night and used the Spiced Apple bath Fizzy. It has been raining so we have loads of water in our tanks so I have to endulge when I can. Nice switch from the showers. Have a nice week.

Hi girls, its nice to see some new members here as well. How are you all. I went to a knitting morning and met a lady from Christchurch who with her family have moved up here. She knows Suzy, her name is Toni and one of her girls is named after one of yours. She said its not the one getting married. Small world. The whole family was on tv last week. Makereal when do you go away, it must be soon, have a great break. I am having a go at a craft show on Saturday, it is held once a month, I went there last month and was impressed with the quality so heres hoping.

smartgirl - 2012-02-27 20:09:00
4487

Certainly, is a small world! Can't wait to hear Sue's reaction to hearing tjhat bit of news, smartgirl. How's all the wedding stuff going this week, suzy? I saw a glimpse of 'Bridezilla' in my daughter yesterday morning and that was over the 'phone, thank goodness she was on the other side of town or I might have experienced it in person. I had asked her to get a balance of what is left to pay on her dress, she went right off when they told her they had no payments on record since mid-December despite me making fortnightly payments! When I rang it turns out the woman who does the books hasn't bothered to update the records for anyone since then - great way to run a business!!! At least it was sorted out and I was able to confirm that S would have her dress in a couple of weeks. She has to have the bodice altered since she has lost so much weight and this place says it's a minimum of $500 for alterations! Good grief.I'm not going to make that one my problem. Are those bridesmaid dresses finished, suzy? I still haven't even cut the pattern out for my dress yet - not enough hours in the day.

grizzly4 - 2012-02-28 07:14:00
4488

omg small world, Yes her daughter is named after one of mine, they let her son name the baby and he had a crush on my R so thats what she was called, had the same tempriment too and when her grandma saw a photo of my R as a baby she thought it was her R ( grandaughter) she wouldn't believe it was my daughter.
Still working on the bridesmaids dresses lol, still got 3 days to finish them , told her yesterday that they should have been finished and did i cop it lol, talk about bridezilla, she did give me a hug and said sorry later, went down and paid for the food at the hotel today$3,300 later ..................
Couldn't get on my computer till 7 this evening, my cable network was down, so no tv or computer, rang Telstra and they said someone will call on Friday to fix it, boy did i let them have it, both barrels. See it pays to kick up a fuss.

My goodness, 17 women turned up for Women's Group yesterday! The activity was Applique Bookmarks in felt with all sorts of embellishments to add by choice. Some of the results were amazing especially suzy's and her Mums. Hey Suzy, why don't you put a photo up of them? Next week is the Ellerslie Flower Show. I can't wait, it was cancelled last year as Hagley Park suffered with the liquifaction and the Show tents were providing shelter for people in the inner city that couldn't return to their homes.

Brilliant photo! Aren't they clever ladies?!
I'm not sure that landlord knows how to be pleased about anything. But how dare he not be after all our hard work?
I have the day off today, we have changed the system a bit so I can work my hours over 9 days and have ever second Friday off. It could be mucked up a little if the boss is away and during the school holidays but we'll enjoy it for the moment. I have marmalade to make this morning, plants to put in the garden and a prem matinee set to finish. We might even get the weekend off from working at the shop this week as the donated exterior paint doesn't arrive till Monday and the builder needs to complete the ramps etc inside before we can do anything else. Yippee!

grizzly4 - 2012-03-02 07:36:00

Phew! Did the housework, made the marmalade, ran some errands, cleaned out my knitting pattern stash although not getting rid of many LOL, and listed some new auctions on TM. Even had some time left over for a Nanna nap before I. got home.

Hiya everyone. Had a fab time in Rarotonga. The opening of the new Cook Islands Red Cross building was fantastic. I was so proud of all they have achieved. They had a big picture of me on the wall . I looked great. Mind you it was one they took 23 years ago Lol. My family also had a ball. The kids just loved it. They were very good and adapted to the heat in no time at all. We all came home laden with very special handcrafted gifts that were presented to us at the opening. My daughter was so amazed that even my family had special things made for them. I am returning next year for the celebrations of the first birthday of the building. We decided over a late dinner a small group of us would do that. Ha ha. I had forgotten how positive and empowering working with the Red Cross can be. It was a wonderful experience and after the last 10 years with you know who grizzly and smartgirl I am so glad I have resigned from that other organisation.

Vampiriousmist, you must be very disappointed, what a shame.
No painiting during the week 'cos we all have real jobs to go to LOL. Did have a meeting yesterday where we chose our new carpet for the shop. So exciting and it's going to be laid at the end of next week. Even more impressive is the builder reckons he will have the ramps etc done by then. All going well we will paint the outside this Sunday. By our next meeting in 2 weeks we should be able to set an opening date. Yahoo, eh, Suzy?
