how does the new venue compare to old. bit to far for me to go. have been a couple times and good show but I go for traders as much as the displays and last time there weren't many there.

Yes I am going down from Reefton for it. I enjoyed it last year, it was well worth the trip. This time while i'm down there I am going to do the train trip to the Tairei Gorge as well - something i have been intending to do for a long time.

I did the Taipei Gorge train trip last November - really enjoyed the trip.
The new venue is a lot better, warmer more light. There is a few traders there including a second hand table. Looking forward to being there.

Timaru model train show is $8 per adult and $3 per child and $15 for a family. Cheap day out for anyone. Lots of great train layouts, second hand tables and retailers selling new items.

there were some cheap items but yes a lot of second hand stuff was overpriced. hence the reason i didnt buy anything. seems to be the norm at train shows now. to me if i sell 2nd hand its because i dont need it and someone might have a use for it so sell at a low price. not a lot of people work on that reasoning though. lol

its like those knives with the snap off blades. buy from the warehouse for a dollar but put them in a packet. call them model knives or something similar and the price goes up to $5.
