Great going popeye. You are a good stuffer as well as knitter!

No what I mean is the last time I tried to put up a photo I was told that I could not as I had not registered, or some such phrase, can't remember it now. I do not buy or sell on this website so my number stays at 0 and that means I am a second class citizen. I know my place (tries to look humble).

We have a poster on our Westie thread in Pets & Animals who also has 0 trades..she can and does post pics and links ..try again. I'd love to see them ... they sound fabulous
edited to say ..have just checked and she has a red star beside her 0 ..guess thats what you mean re being allowed to ...could you not ask them what to do ?

Okay I'll give it a go - how do you do it?

On second thoughts I have just checked that "how to become authenticated "page and they say to get a red star you have to have credit in your account and confirm the contact details. I don't mind doing the latter but I'm blowed if I'm going to start buying or selling just to be able to post photos. Sorry TradeMe but that's how it is.
I might put photos on another website though, have been thinking of doing that for a while. I'll keep on thinking!

Rats tails? if you mean for the crab legs they are 5 stitches for 5 rowa, then gather the end , sew the row ends, then stuff and attatch. All very fiddly lol.
If I did it again id probably do 7-8 sitches and just roll it and stitch it.

I don't think you have to buy and sell to be able to use the message board, but you need to be authenticated, and to do that you have to put $10 into your account.

Am I in trouble for self promoting. Is it wrong to show and tell a photo of something you made, if you also have it for sale. I wouldn't think anyone here would want to buy what you can make yourself. It's about the booby hat. Oh Dear, oops, my Duffel coat and jersey are also for sale. I won't be able to show you any photos of my knitting then. Bugger.

armin59 - 2013-01-29 14:11:00
414

armin - I didn't mean to stir things up on the other thread, I was sticking up for you. Unfortunately I didn't realise you were selling that hat. I knew what you were doing as in "show and tell" and not self promoting. I'd think you would be pretty safe in this thread showing us what you have done and indeed I do hope you keep doing so. Cheers :-)

Thanks pats, I know you were trying to look after me. I appreciate that a lot. Maybe I will just show and tell on this thread in future. My brain hat is now on the Knit World facebook. Took it to our group this morning and the manager took a photo. Someon has commented that it is grotesque.

I don't want you to think i was being pickie and finger pointing either armin59. I just don't want to see any of us get into trouble for being proud of our work and wanting to "show and tell". Please forgive me?

I'm o/k, you were both looking after me. I'm a bit asd and don't get things unless they are obvious.Somewhat naive to a fault.

So long as you show and tell, before you list it. Your safe.. Just dont push the thread once you have it listed.

I think the hat is lovely.. I guess some people are just strange.

Ive had threads about toys Im doing. But once I list it I dont bump the thread.... But not my fault if others do. So long as you dont comment in it once you have listed the item.
Ive not been told off yet.

And with Wilf he was for my friend so that was different.

Morning all I hope all the crafty fingers are working..

Im over summer... I dont like the heat, although it hasnt been as bad as some summer.
But Im ready for some nice cold winter days. Considering Im on warfarin I still like the cold with my thin blood lol.
I finished the main body piece for Mr Twizzle last night. So its all smaller parts now.
Have a good day all

popeye333 - 2013-01-30 08:21:00

Morning all. I don't like to too hot either popeye. 25 deg is about my limit. We've had some hot days down here and the forecast tells us we're in for some more in the 30's - yikes.

Got up early to take Quinn for a walk before it got too hot. Am going to prepare tonight's meal as have a friend coming for tea. Am meeting 3 friends for lunch. Really wish I was retired, could take more of this - lol.

Will look forward to Mr Twizzle's progress popeye.

pats3 - 2013-01-30 09:52:00
423

Well it's not all that hot up here in the "winterless north" - I think they should rename it the "summerless north". It's actually quite cool, mind you if this flipping wind would stop it might be better. Very windy. I'm sick of it, we've had it for days. Too windy to sit out on the deck and relax when the chores are done. I'm trying to finish a crocheted cloth which I started about this time last year. There's one section which has been driving me nuts, where you have to crochet 32 flowers and attach them, and I should have known better as I've done this cloth twice before and almost gave up, but I have 3 more flowers to attach and then only 4 or 5 rounds to complete the cloth, so if I sit at it later today I might get it finished. Then I think I'll throw the pattern away or give it to someone I don't like!!!!!

Ahahaha, thats rather neat armin, fotunatly I can handle those hats a bit better than the brain hats. Now they creep me. The wearer had better watch out for babies googling their head with either a hungry look or a very confused look on them. "What are THOSE doing up there?".Well done.

Armin you knit socks ..how hard do you think I'd find it to knit these for my Dutch partner....different colours though. This is a great free site that may have some patterns taht interest any of you keen knitters. Was in the latest NZ House & Garden mag.

Love the hat Armin.. Too bad if others dont like them. none of their business eh.
Lol Kuaka. I remember when I was a kid my stepfather spoke about the winterless north. We went up for a holiday, stayed at Paihia and there was one of the heaviest frosts Id seen. We gave him sh*t about that everytime we saw another frost lol.
When I have something with many of the same part, I usually do them at separate times. Like for example those flowers I would do some at the start, middle and end of the doing of the main pice. That way I dont get too bored or give up.
Despite feeling very flat today Ive done Mr twizzles feet. So I can stuff the body and attatch the feet. Later. Used one of the spotlight wools and it was terrible after the James C Brett wool. Gosh thats lovely and soft eh.
Time to have a play on here now. Then read for an hour. Then I have to fill the pill containers and that takes an hour to both of ours lol.. yep we rattle lol

I'm a beginner sock maker but I can see that the flower bit is only in the part where you knit straight, round and round for 70 rows. Boring!. You could handle that no sweat jb.

LOL at jb. Armin, too funny, nice job though.

Back from lunch with girlfriends, very nice it was too.

It's hot here today but there is a wind so have my doubts it will get to 29 deg or whatever they were predicting. All the same, I will be staying inside and preparing tea and maybe read for a while. Husband coming for tea - we've been separated for 5 years but still friends and I cook a meal for him every few weeks. He comes for tea only - LOL.

Oh armin, she's lovely. I take it this is a permanent condition without surgery? Hopefully the medication will eventually kick in maybe? Woof, woof from Quinn, my gorgeous girl Golden Retriever, 13 months old.

Rosey is lovely.. Poor girl but she has a good mummy to make her nappies.
I soo miss having dogs. But alas not allowed them here. use to have foxies generally. But had a huge cream lab years ago. Got him from the Rotorua SPCA, his parents moved to Aussie. Harley was 6 stone. Huge lol. Tried to get him in the bath to wash him and had to lift the rearend in.
Loved him to bits till he passed.

Morning All.. Pats she is soooo cute... I imagine cleaning her hair from the chair will be a full time job.
Out to drs and shopping this morning. Wilf is coming for a visit lol..

Have sewn and stuffed Twizzles body and feet. and knitted the tiny patches for his shoes, hes got patches every where the poor boy lol..

Was talking with MrP last night. Even if I had to order less than $100 at deramores, it will still work out cheaper for delivery, than it would cost to go to Pukekohe which is 13 mins away, to get wool from the warehouse.
And deramores is far better quality.
Used to have a friend in America who very seldom went out for anything. She got everything online. Its happening here now.
I can understand why people become recluses.. I wont tho. I like the human factor every now and then, and couldnt stand looking at the walls 365 days a year.
But when it comes to wool, I will happily order from home lol

Morning all. popeye, since that photo was taken I have been training her to keep off the furniture - not always successful - lol. I brush her regularly so the hair problem isn't too bad - not good, but not too bad, lol.

Mr Twizzle sounds great. Gosh, you are quick.

Going out to breakfast now with a girlfriend and to take our dogs for a walk/swim at a local dog park. No wonder I don't get any knitting done - lol. Have a good day everyone.

Go Deramores !!!

Morning ladies. Off to get my nails done this morning as I am going to see Cliff Richard tonight. I've had my hair cut so when I get back from having my nails done I can put a hair dye through it. Battery in the camera is fully charged and I've bought a 4gb sd card for it so I'm all set.

whiskey13 - 2013-01-31 09:38:00

Hi Popeye
Yes I too can see how a person becomes a recluse if happy with their own company and have plenty to do. What I really love since I finished work is that I can CHOOSE where I go and who I see, especially being able to wake up one morning and just think I will go and visit someone just anywhere - it's mainly Wellington and Hamilton - and just take off. I have kept my helping type activities to the first few days of the week so the rest is free for me. After many years of having to go to work at set times I find this just luxury.
I really like this thread you have set up - similar interests and obviously lovely people on it. I have read some of the others in other topics and got out very fast, I am not a confrontational person so find them very off putting. Thanks for starting it and to all the other knitty people on here.

Im lucky really, cos I dont have a too busy a life style. Im happy pottering at home. We make our days out, on days where we have clinic appointments lol.. We have never been into going out to movies, restaurants etc.
Ohh Whiskey I am jealous. I love cliff Richard too. so please share photos. Have a fab night.
Yeah Im enjoying the thread too jayem.. You do find alot of nasty people in other threads, so this is nice to have people who enjoy the same hobbies etc.
Well Wilf was socialised this morning.. What have I done Lol.. The girls at the med centre want me to do their knitting lol... Ive told them toys I get bored with clothes. the girls in lab loved him.
At the supermarket, I walked around with him in my arm lol... This lady walked past and smiled. Then she came back and said I know him , meaning the toy. It was Cheekyb!arch from general. Ive seen her many times, but hadnt known it was her. She recognised Wilf from the pictures lol
One of the checkout girls has some wool to give me so thats lovely.
They will be watching TM for more toys tho lol.

It was nice really.

I have wrapped him up with a few books.. What a job lol... I shudder to think what he will cost to send but Ill know that tomorrow .

popeye333 - 2013-01-31 12:16:00

popeye - that made me laugh re the lady saying she knew Wilf - that is so funny.

Had a lovely morning, meeting my girlfriend for breakfast and then taking the dogs for a swim (the dogs, not us, lol).

Did a couple of messages on the way home and am now sitting inside with the airconditioning on as it is so hot. I'm actually watching Downton Abbey - found a site that has all the episodes. I had watched the first two seasons but missed the first 3 episodes of season 3, so didn't watch the rest of it. Someone put me on to a site where you can watch the whole lot, so I've I'm starting with the last 2 episodes of Season 2 just to refresh and then I'll watch Season 3.

jayemetoo - you're right, this is a lovely thread. I'm really enjoying it. I'm on sick leave at the moment and return to week on Monday. I've had 3 weeks off (had gallbladder removed) and have thoroughly enjoyed the last two weeks as I've been really good and have been able to get out and do things. I never thought I'd say that I can't wait until I retire but I've got another 4 years to go. I'm a bit of a home body but I like to get out now and again, meeting up with friends etc, etc.

pats3 - 2013-01-31 14:26:00

Hello all, I've not been posting much as busy getting house organised for quake repairs to start in about 10 days. Loving this thread too and seeing everyone's lovely work and ideas.
Popeye how lovely that cheekybiarch recognised Wilf - she's great fun on the threads, I like her posts.
I'm definitely a home body too - not looking forward to having my space invaded by tradesmen for 3 weeks, but will be glad when it's done.
Happy knitting everyone :)

Morning all
Maible it must be like having to opack and move but without the moving part. Hope it doesnt take long tho.

It was fun socialising Wilf, he goes on his travels today.

I was sitting in bed knitting last night, watching the horder. I happened to glance in the mirror. Look cakc handed knitting , when you see your hands back to front. and of course I dont usually see the front of my hands when knitting. Strange very strange lol I dont often knit in bed but I had a straight bit so thought I might as well have my hands busy.

I normally read in the adds lol but didnt

Have a good day all. ENjoy the sevens if you into that.
