Cool smartgirl Geez girl your back needs a scan. I have knitted 6 little beanies. Will sew them up tonight but got to find some padding for the stuffing of the pompoms first. Good on you for knitting for teabags charity. I know the pattern off by heart now. ha ha.

Morning Girls What a great day it is. Beans are up and peas peeping through. Back is a okay so I am off to pay my trademes and meander through the garden centre. I only ever buy plants that are reduced because they are on their way out. It is amazing what I get from the Warehouse for 40 cents. Ha ha. I have to go browse for quilt fill as well for the beanies. Thought I would make some bootees to match one of the hats but they turned out huge. A laughed and grabbed them for our new baby. She weighs 7 pounds and still got 6 weeks to go. It is A'S first baby. All my kids weighed between 8-12 and 10-14 so it looks as though she will be another little beauty. A IS NORMALLY SIZE 8. How is your girl going grizzly?

Really pleased to hear you are on the go again! I'm still at home today and at least I caught up with housework yesterday so today can be devoted to knitting and cross-stitch.

My daughter is doing well. Nine weeks pregnant now. I won't start knitting till 12 weeks but I am getting itchy fingers. I might give in and do a crochet blanket to put under the christmas tree for baby. She's had 3 days of not being so sick. They are coming up with some neat names.

Hi girls Just sewn up my 6 beanies and stuffed the pompoms. Got a huge bag of offcuts of down for $2 from the local op shop yay. Midwife daughter saw them and told me about all the units the Auckland Hospital Board has for Prem babies so I have to knit some for her. Great way to use up odd bits of wool. Have to finish little jacket I am halfway through first. Sealed two Mosaic Chrissy pressies this afternoon as well so I am making up for lost time.Ha ha. Maybe Zoe forgot about us!!! Got a Little Meyer Lemon tree from the Warehouse for 99 cents about two months ago. Put it in a nice pot nutured it and it has two lemons on it and is 18 inches high now. Going to give it to G and S for a housewarming Pressie.

You are such a busy girl makerealbany. Today I knitted another hat for teabag and have started a wee baby jacket for my granddaughters birthday present. I am giving her a baby doll complete with some clothes for it.

I couldn't wait! I went to Knitworld yesterday to check out baby patterns and eneded up with patterns plus all the wool to start a cot blanket for the new baby. By teatime it was 45cms sq. So much for waiting, eh? I think this baby will have a pressie under the tree.

Good on You grizzly I was threading hat elastic through 2 pairs of the long pants for 2 suits I knitted for bubs last night and I touched A's tummy and felt her little knee and she kicked me. ha ha. She is a strong little minx. Just won some wool from furrball. Missed out on some mohair I wanted darn. Other granddaughter wants a soft kneerug now. They feel bubbies blankets and they all hug them. I guess they are so soft even the boys want them. I could never wait either. ha ha.

Hi grizzly how much knitting have you done so far. I have been doll clothes knitting today. I have really enjoyed it. I have a book that is so easy to follow and so quick.
Such an exciting time makerealbany. I had 3 grandkids in 18 months. I also have 3 older ones. 15, 11 on Sunday and 7 and a half. They are all great kids.

6 grandchildren... nana heaven! I went back to work yesterday after 2 days off with the 'flu so knitting was restricted unfortunately. I finished a pair of bootees to go with cardy & beanie for the shop. I now have a 5 piece set to do for TM order. Not due at work till 11 this morning so hopefully can get some blanket done first!

Hi Girls What a day I had yesterday. Whipped around the cottage and the house doing the normal chores. Had to go to Orewa to look after 2 grandchildren after school. Went to the gym about 2 hours before kids got home. On arriving at the house I realized it was paper night. They deliver Community papers. Folded 500 papers and stacked them in bags, did my daughters washing, hoovered the house and collapsed for a cuppa. Kids arrived, fed them and then their Dad arrived and we raced off to deliver papers. 4.30 Finished papers and kids went to the sea for a swim. Silly me forgot my togs. Came home to Albany had a cold shower and relaxed with some knitting.

Hey smartgirl Doll knitting is something I have not done for years. Although I recently washed some teddies that were miss 13's for her little cousin and they had clothes we knitted for them. Gee it takes you back it is hard to compare this tall slim long haired blond sportsnut with the little ringleted girl that dragged her teddies everywhere.

makerealbany - 2007-11-23 09:46:00
415

Grizzly Glad you are over the flu. Nothing worse than feeling stuffed up in really hot weather. Well second load of wash is on dogs are exercised and fed, cats are fed but I am not so I'm off for breakfast.

A bit cooler today which is a shame.I am working in the purple Patch this morning and taking in the few things I made during the week. Knitting is a bit slow as I am having to wait for winners of my auctions to let me know their colour choice. Such a pain at times!

Hi grizzly Haven't but will do. Moved youngest son yesterday into their 1st home. Very exciting but tiring. Was using stuff to get mould off some walls and were my hands sore. Forgot to use gloves. dope, dope!!! Was so tired last night fell into bed early ha ha. S is so keen to learn gardening. It is so cool. My son will be hopeless so that will be her domain. Gave them their lemon tree and they were wrapt. First fruit tree. I gave my son a Kauri tree years ago when he finished his PHD. It was about a foot high. That was about 7 years ago. He has carried it with him, moving it into bigger pots. It is now 8 foot high. Had a busy day Friday and everything went awall but you get days like that. Have plants to repot and herbs to pot up for the kids so will get busy. Have a cooooool day girls.

Another full on weekend! Grandson (6 months) cut his first tooth and said 'Dad' all in one week. He is just delightful and I love my Sundays with him. My daughter is going back to work once she has her baby after 4 months (we'll see) and has asked me to have her wee one on Saturdays. It's great to be included, my parents would never have offered.

Babies are so cute. Ive always been hands on with mine and I am sure you have a better relationship later on when you have been with them all the way

What a clever little fella grizzly Talk about warm fuzzies! I lived overseas when my kids were babies and I went out twice in 10 years without any children. Lol. When I returned home I had hoped that one of my 5 siblings or my parents might babysit once in awhile but it never happened. Sad really. Youngest son bought his eldest brother a kitten. The eldest one is an invalid fell off the scaffolding while painting years ago, had heaps of surgery but arm, back and legs are stuffed(to put it mildly). K's eldest boy has just moved in with him as he is off to uni next year. He has never had a pet so both of them are going ga ga over this little kitten. It is hilarious watching two guys over 6 ft tall cuddling this tiny ball of fluff.

G also got enough food, kitty litter, toys and everything else for a year so that was a lovely gift. Animals are great levelers and healers as well. I'm keeping an eye on my neighbours new puppy today. Shelby was rescued by the SPCA. She is a beautiful little bitser with lovely big brown eyes. She is sitting on their front porch under the shade at the moment. I am doing the wash and recycling water for some new plants and everytime I go into the garden she pops over to the fence to say hi. Our two dogs are curious but I have them back in their run. Second son is over from Aussi for a conference and is taking us all out to dinner tonight as he won't be home for Xmas. Goody, no cooking. Have a really nice day girls.

I have just done my 2nd bottle of weed spraying. I found it much easier than the first. I had acupunture and massage today. Must be why.

I have my first Christmas 'do' today at lunch time. I set up a support network for family support workers here a few years ago and we are going out to lunch today for our last meeting for the year. The weather is supposed to change so we may not be dining in the restaurant garden unfortunately. Only 4 weeks to go till I have a month off. Hubby has just started a new job so will only get the stats which is a shame and makes me feel awful when he works twice as many hours per week than I do.

Hi smartgirl Thought I should do some spraying today but too windy here. Yet yesterday was so hot and still. Wow it sounds as if treatments are working. Great. Feel seedy today must have been that dinner at Umi which is Japanese and the dessert at Portofino. To say nothing of the two glasses of wine. ha ha. Waiting for electrician today so may just sit and knit.

Xmas Dinners I remember doing all those rounds. Got heaps to go to in Rotorua but have to pick and choose as it is so far away. Most likely go to Women's Refuge as I am a Honorary member now for all the voluntary work I did and try to do for them. Then I can stay the night and visit Mum. Poor Hubby, what a bummer.

I'm pretty used to not having him around on my holidays over the years. He's never been out of work but rarely stays in the same job for more than a couple of years either. It's been hard for me to understand as I have worked at the same community group for 17 years but he just gets itchy feet. Trouble is then he just gets his holidays payed out when he moves on. Actually got a week with him in May and another in October which were lovely.

Morning Girls Another busy day. After housework chores got to go shopping and Post Office. Clean the car, etc then tonight going to stay at Son's place. Have to take my grandson to sort out his student allowance etc for uni for next year. Has an appointment at 9-30 and I would have to leave at 6 in the morning, sit in traffic for two hours etc. Easier to stay the night then it will only take 30 minutes I hope. Really hate Auckland traffic!!!!. He needs a summer job so will have to go to Winz and register him for their seminar and access to jobs. Trouble is he does not drive so have to teach him and get his licence. Oh the things we have to do. Have to buy 2 more chrissy presents to give to son to take home to Aussi as well. Well I am off enjoy the day girls.

You are indispensible! I don't know how your family would manage without you, makerealbany. I hope they tell you how amazing you are. Picked up a high chair last night that I won for $10 on TM. I think I have a complete set of baby furniture here now for when grandchildren visit. We have put one single bed in storage for the time being so the portacot can go in the same room. We are claiming our craft room back!!

Yes makerealbany you have the energy of all the rest of us. grizzly you are like me. I have a complete set of everything for when my wee one come which is most weeks.

Yay it's Friday! And I'm finally getting through the orders from TM, they've really tied up my craft time this week. (Although I am thankful someone wants to buy, don't get me wrong!)I have so many great projects on the go at present I keep wanting to do them. Work is really getting in the way!

Hi girls Bug it midded out on two auctions autobid beaten by 50 cents griii. Was too busy to access net yesterday but got grandson sorted. Had to wait for two hours so went to spotlight at Panmure. ha ha. Got Jazz and Wisp wall for 75 cs and 85 cents a ball. Want to do two shawls for pressies so it will cost me $3.40 a shawl. How's that?
Going to the gym at Orewa then will look after two grandchildren til Mum is home from work. My daughter got me a teddybear kit which was only $10 on special at the warehouse so while I was at my son's I knitted it all except for half a leg. Pretty pleased at that. Well must be off have a neat day.

makerealbany - 2007-11-30 12:44:00
433

Wow, only 3 weeks to go! Isn't always the way as soon as you have a project with a deadline (I'd like to put my daughter's baby blanket under the tree for xmas) you end up selling auctions that create lots more knitting. Appreciate the interest and the money at this time of the year, just hope there's enough hours in the day!

Hi Zoe! How are you going? Thinking of you.

grizzly4 - 2007-12-03 08:07:00
435

Hi Girls Firstly I made an error in judgement, maybe I did not read communication properly but I got a trader upset and believe you me It is the last thing I intended. I have apologized but I still feel rotten about it. Even though I have been flat out all weekend it has been in the back of my mind. I have rectifyed the probelm but still. Well I have to get on and I need to go to the gym today to work off some stress. ha ha A few kilos will not go amiss. Knitted half a shawl over the weekend with my feet up at nights. Not sure if I like it but my daughters like it. Have a cool peaceful day girls.

makerealbany - 2007-12-03 10:57:00
436

These things happen, you know, we are not perfect beings. A genuine apology is the important thing and if the other trader can't get over it, maybe they enjoy the drama of conflict more than they are upset about the trade. Everyone can see how reliable you are by your feedbacks anyway. Hope today is a better day.

grizzly4 - 2007-12-04 08:17:00
437

Makerealbany, you cant please all the people all the time. I paid for a pattern book the other night and overlooked the $1 postage and the trader sent me a threatening email and gave me a bluie.

smartgirl - 2007-12-04 09:28:00
438

Babysitting again Daughter working. She is a midwife and leaves at 6-30 and gets home about 5. She is only working 3 days a week at the mo but it is hard as her husband is away overseas for 3 or ? weeks and then is home for 3 weeks and gone again. Sometimes he is away for 6 weeks. I try and help her out as she had been ill for a year and is just starting back but she is still as thin as a bean. So another trip to Remuera and up to Albany, back to Remuera and then up to Orewa. Tomorrow I will be here in Orewa.

We all know that feeling Moving is sooooooo stressful. You end up on automatic pilot. Finished the housework and going to the gym. Daughter had a bad night. She changed her bed 4 times. Heaps of washing. Rang dr to change her medication. Side effect of drug. Talk about hit and miss prescriptions. She has big black circles under her eyes. My sunny girl looks so sad and worn out.

makerealbany - 2007-12-06 10:47:00

And then there's the doctors who say there's nothing they can do.... my daughter is 11 weeks pregnant with feet the size of rugby balls!!!!Ver sore and all they say is a hormone increase!
