Well I made my first real quilt in 2004 or 2006 or something...and then it was only a lap quilt! So I have never done perfect tiny stitches...but I love looking at the work that those who can do. What a mouf full that was...

Viv I so know your comment about threading the needle, they make the hole a lot smaller than it used to be haha :)
ive been sewing Munchkins quilt, getting near the end whew its taking ages, even had Daisy 'helping' me for a little while. Had a 'file away in memory moment ' yesterday, Munchkin called me Grandma, yeah shes done it before when she was told to say Hello Grandma or whatever but it was just her saying it and it was special awww can you hear the background violins playing hahahaha

How daft is this? I was sitting threading the needle last night and getting really antsy cos every time I was sure I had threaded it it just didnt seem to be working. Then I realised I had picked up a scrap piece of cotton and not the end attached to the cotton reel and was pulling the piddly 6" piece straight through the needle......

I have mended three pair of sil's trousers this morning...and the pain killers are doing the job today!! Yeehah grandma...this old bird could be dangerous in the next wee while.
A beautiful day here today. The sun is shining right up my back passage...in the words of dear Aunt Daisy. The buds on the plum tree are getting fatter each day too...spring must be on the way...even though we are really only half way through winter.
Dilli back already? Gosh time flies. I'm looking forward to some of her potions...

Just home from a meeting so no sewing for me today. But I have to drop my student off at school tomorrow by 8.30 so I will get an early start as usually I am not put of bed before 9.30am on a Friday.

im all good had my chemo yesterday and going for a alcohol flush tomorrow have to stay 2 hours,its my last chemo next week yay :)

Finished Munchkins quilt, will have to wash it as its kinda grubby haha it took me so long to make and has a white blanket instead of batting and backing. I think its minky well may as well be its so soft and cuddly.

What a week! Great to hear Twi is nearly finished chemo and that Jumbo is becoming fighting it. Can't say I'm 100% yet but I expected it to take ages going by how I felt this time last week. Rest is definitely the best thing and although I went back to work earlier this week I have taken great care not to over extend myself. Today I have a sore rib area (muscles) which I've hurt from coughing! Thank goodness I can take it easy again now that the weekend is here.

Loving the beautiful spring feeling weather and sunshiney days.

Bloody hell . . . I spoke too soon. Have just had a huge coughing fit and now my ribs/muscles feel like they will pop if that happens again! Couldn't catch my breath and had to stand at the kitchen sink and cough, couhg, cough - all the time keeping my legs crossed! I hate this and I'm sorry for complaining because I know that you Twi and Jumbo have much worse to deal with.

Great shopping with the curtains bet they are a lovely change.
Munchkins quilt isn't anything flash specially not as flash as appliqued, its 2 owl panels put together on a blanket and free motioned around. Thumpacat has the same panels on her website, I got mine at local shop.
Do you remember the owl panel / squares you gave me in purples and blues, im making Munchkin cushions out of them, they are on my next to do list.

I have boiled jug and put food on bench , Talking about bugs, last year I got whopping cough spent 4 months really sick so if you have a cough that last longer than a few day , the kind that when you start coughing you almost spew and chock and you wet your pants, then go to DR and get antibiotics , we all should have a bouster injection for whooping cough. The one we had as a child wares off when we get older . now I am off have a great day

I got nothing done today. Had to babysit grandson 21/2 as our son and daughter-in-law went to a little girls funeral. She drowned in Lake Wakatipu.
She was 21/2. Very sad. They are so quick. One minute they are there with you then they're gone.
Had a fun day with Max. Stories, singing, dancing(yes) and playing with his cars. Don't you just love the wee people.
