Two years old already? Happy Birthday Munchkin! Our twins are 15 today...where does time go? Those wee squirmy babies are now young men with deep voices! I don't know about saving cake though. Nothing lasts very long around here...although they are taking a cake to SCBU today so they won't get any of that!
Drizzly wet here. Can't complain though because we have had a great winter so far.
Haven awesome day!

Going to make your muffins tomorrow Judy, thanks for recipe.
Jumbo hope you feel better tomorrow, hugs to you.
Been crocheting, found a different way of joining the squares rather than joining the rows you join as you go, so undid what I had joined and doing them again. Wont take long :)
sweetdreams :)

Coalie that recipe is not muffins - that seem to form a bit like yorkshire puds I think. The puff up but have a hollow for you to ill. Hope they turn out good.

Well, I'm a home from work sick - went to the doc yesterday and she confirmed I have the flu ! ! ! ! Am just sitting around, trying to feel comfortable. Everything aches and I have no energy. So nothing to do except read or play on the computer.

I have just read my post - I have written that really badly

Judy...get better really fast. Isn't it a shame that you have a day off sick...but can't use it because you lack energy? According to my medical expertise, rest is the best cure for the flu so take a great big dollop of it from Dr Jumbo!
Coalie that quilt is beautiful! What a lucky girl she is.
I have actually done a bit of housework today...and although a bit buggerered it feels good to have some order back. Now to brace myself for the bedroom...
Having a good day?

Oopsy! That bedroom comment sounds a bit rude! I am going to clean and change the linen!

Finished the bedroom Jumbo ? I got the lawns done whew was hard work without Dilli's broom :( but done before the rain and picked a big bunch of violets, the stems seem to be extra long much easier to put in a vase.
blobbing for me now :)
now Jumbo go rest yourself and take notice of what Doctor Jumbo said it applies to you too hehe :)

Great to see you are able to get some sewing time in bar.
Yes coalie...I did get the bedroom done but it took a long time. A couple of cats wanted to help make the bed but weren't that useful actually!
A friend has gone to Australia for a few days and I am feeding her cats while she is away. One of them brought me a barely alive rabbit this morning. I told her she would have to finish the job and put it out of its misery...and she obediently ate it's head off! I didn't have to clear anything away though because one of the other cats stole it to finish it off. He is a big black number and looked so cute getting the silverware, fine bone china, salt and pepper and glass of wine. He tucked his starched white serviette under his chin and was still saying grace when I left....

Wow another glorious day in Wanganui. Sun is shining and I can't see a cloud in the sky. Mum and I are venturing out today .... I have found a lovely wooden bookshelf which will just fit a space in her room so we are off to pick it up. Then I hope to finish another cat quilt to go on the arm of the lounge suite.
Have a great day everyone

Am looking for some inspiration ..... I have decided to do a wall hanging for the rest home which gave Dad and the family so much love and support especially over the last few weeks. It's got to be something that reflects thanks without being mushy and yet somehow also reflects a bit of Dad. None of you knew Dad so it's a bit tricky but any ideas would be welcome. He had written at least 6 poems about various staff etc and we are going to get a small booklet published but I don't think any of them are short enough (or appropriate) to do in quilt form. It won't be a memorial .... A label on the back will just say something like "in grateful thanks for your loving care of ..." So I guess it needs to be something that other residents and staff will enjoy. I have thought of a nice Christmas wall hanging but that would only be out one month a year.

Bar that's a lovely idea
I saw this in google

if you google quilted wall hangings theres lots of ideas and some have patterns. Have fun :)

When I picture your Dad I get an image of an older, bent Charlie Chaplin like man...without the moustache but with a bigger twinkle in the eye. Maybe something that reflects him in his heyday years? Art Deco? You might even find a quote indicative of that era that reflects your Dad's entertaining ways! I agree with coalie that google is an awesome place for inspiration and could be full of stunning ideas.
Did you get the bookcase for your Mum? Does she love it? Good luck with your idea and keep us informed.
Having a quiet day here.

Keep the ideas coming :)
So far I am favouring a flower garden filled with bright red and yellow tulips (his favourite flowers) with the words "bloom where you are planted" or "Growing old can be fun ... If you do it with the right people"
We didn't get the bookcase in the end .... She thought it was just a bit too big.

ok sooooo didn't tell you about Munchkins prezzie, ( got her clothes ) but when she opened it T said oooh who's that from and he looked at the writing on the prezzie and it said .... lotsa love from Grandad and Grandad . LOL don't know how I did that hahaha DUH

Game of scrabble? Monopoly?

I made prawny lemony ravioli with a creamy winey sauce for tea and it was tasty! It was the first time my ravioli didn't explode in spectacular fashion.

Barb, love your wall-hanging idea. It'll be made with love and thanks so you can't go wrong - whatever you choose will be perfect.

Thank you Carole and good morning to you all. A wet and miserable looking day here today...but not too cold. Muttley said we might go out for lunch. We say that quite often and then prefer to stay at home where it's cosy and warm. We think we are turning into boring old farts! That can't be all bad though can it?
Have a great day.
