Must have been a night for no sleep. Maaaan...I had heard that shingles was painful...but I was not prepared! It is affecting the nerves down my leg resulting in 'toothache' from my hip to my ankle...and I'm only allowed eight painkillers a day...moan grumble grizzle weep! For goodness sake girl...take stock and be thankful you are still breathing! There. That's me told off so I will stop whinging now!
The sun is up, the frost will melt and we are expecting a high of 18...so lots to look forward to. Might even get some quilting in. Might even visit a friend.

hi lovely ladies
had to spend another 3 days in the hospital :(
had my picc line removed and im on 2 antibiotics have got a hospital caught infection i googled it and not very nice:( im going to the hospital 3 times a day for iv antibiotices, also had a blood transfuion
went grocery shopping this morning :)

Today is beautiful. My friend came to our house before I got to her one so I will just have to try again eh?
The donkeys are back in the small paddock because the one they have been feasting from is being turned into a hospital wing for Tim and Zak who need to be confined! They think they are really hard done by!
Did I tell you the family is back from holiday? It feels nice to be back to normal...

Well...thank you very much drommy, coalie and Dilli! Tim and Zak need to be confined because they both have injuries. They have been in a box but are now in a minute paddock each. They are under 24 hour care...minus sleepy time for their owners.
I would love some of those spicy Dutch biscuits please!

Hi, just reporting in..... My Dad passed away at 3.30pm today. I was with him by myself at the time. Although we have been expecting this for the past 3 weeks, it is still a shock when it happens. But now we can move on to the next stage in our lives. RIP Dad..... You were my rock.
I probably won't post again until after the funeral. Thanks for all your kindnesses in words over the last few weeks. They have been a huge comfort even though I have never met any of you. Hugs

Funny story coalie. I was beside myself last night. The toothache in my leg was not easing at all and I'd taken all the pain killers I was allowed...and it was only 7 o'clock. So I rang the casual rooms at the health centre to see what would be wrong with taking more. The nurse looked up my records after I told her what I had...and she said What about the codeine? I heard the quack say something about codeine but just assumed it was already in the tablets I was taking! I had renewed my other meds as well and because I don't need them for a week or so I didn't empty the bag...and when I searched...there was the little bottle of tiny bits of magic! Talk about a dork! But I don't take pain killers very often even though I can be a pain(!) so I don't know what the names mean. I'm on top of it now!

Jumbo I have had shingles twice and I can sympathise. The pain caused me to tense my body and it was often hard to bear. My late mother also had shingles - it is not easy, is it?

Here is my quilt top. I've usually only done darker borders but this was the only fabric I could find to go with Hoffmans squares from so long along. Every fabric has gold embossing. Does not really show up in photo though as it has a nice jewelled effect

Well, getting that nasty bug that's going around has had one good result: I couldn't get my eyes to focus on the TV or any books, so i've decided what my quilt pattern is going to be!

Still going with the Hedgehog border, the rest will be "stripey jellyroll" style with black hedgehog silhouettes in a few random spots.

well i have been discharged from hospital was aloud to go home at the weekend and just go back for my antibiotics if my blood test comes back good on wednesday morning i get another picc line in and then chemo on thursday have only 3 chemos to go, when i had a ct scan a few weeks ago it was clear of all tumours :) saw oncologist on friday and he was very happy with that :)
tis a beaut day here, had yummy home made pumpkin soup and black doris plum tart for lunch mmmm yummy :)
