What a wicked frost we had this morning minus 9. But the sun is out. Will be sitting by the fire today either knitting or cutting out some hexagons for a bag we are going to make at our patchwork group next week.
Will take our mini schnauzer 'Harry" for a walk this afternoon. Hope everyone is well and have a great weekend.

There is nothing quite like family .... mum has had two phone calls from Canada today ....two of her eldest brother's children. Her brother died about 15 years ago at the age of 82 but his family has always kept in touch. Very special. They are the Canadian branch ... He moved there just after the WW2. Mum is busy sewing now but we have a small party this afternoon when the red hatters come.... Will post photos if I remember to take some :)

Oops...it's past morning! We have been out and are going out again. Yes coalie...we came through the wairarapa so couldn't drop in on you. Mind you...I mightn't have been very good company because I was tired!! Going out birthday shopping for one of the cinderellas soon. Fun! Have a good day...

Yep...shopping done and dusted. We got her a stove to take camping and a billy made of stainless steel. And put an apple in the billy because she likes Billy Apple! She is going to take a photo of it and send to him! Lovely day here as well. Ta for cuppa.

Good morning all. Was AWOL yesterday ....church in the morning and then in the afternoon took Mum and Dad to see the Mikado as their birthday treats. It was wonderful and they really enjoyed it. We had front row seats which was both good and bad. Great for watching, not so good for half time when Dad, who was in a wheelchair, and Mum, who needs a walker but it was stored outside of the auditorium, needed the toilet. There was no way I could take Dad out in the wheelchair so I had to go find Mum's walker and then assist him out using that. Meanwhile Mum wobbled her way down the aisle holding onto chairs and then someone offered her their arm and took care of her. Next time I will take another able bodied person with me. I was thankful for the long interval as it took 20 mins just to get them to the toilet and back. Dad walks very slowly. I was exhausted last night.

I went to see the Quilters Lane shop in Masterton but it was closed on Monday. I went to The Crafty Pear in Pahiatua...and bought a pretty box.
I hope you are feeling rested now bar...I can imagine how much your parents would have enjoyed their special day out.
My cats were deeeeelighted to see me home...and have not let me out of their sight since!
