Thinking of you Twi .... At least you are in a warm place away from the high winds ..
I spent most of last night wondering if the oak tree (huge) just outside my house was going to blow over. It certainly shed lots of branches and they kept hitting my bedroom window and side of house. I usually sleep au naturale but donned a nightie just in case I had to move in a hurry. Still windy and cold here but not as wild as last night.

M&M were told by neighbours night before last that their garage roof was coming off, rang fire brigade and told they were 5th in line, and if they had been in welly they would of been 500th in line, they had it nailed down before the fire brigade got there but twas so good the neighbours noticed it whew.

Just a quick hello this morning. Wind has stopped and tree still standing but the front lawn is littered with branches and leaves. Have 5 year old grandson coming to stay this afternoon (til Monday) so we will make a game out of cleaning up.
It's my dad's 90th birthday tomorrow and his 5 living siblings (he was one of 12) are coming through for lunch so most of today will be preparing. Unlikely to get any sewing done. I think there will be 15 for lunch if we count partners and carers.

update from Twi, she is painfree, having another ultrasound instead of ct scan, they don't know what caused the pain, shes sooo hungry hasn't eaten since brekkie yesterday, hugs back to everyone.

So good to hear Twi is feeling better today. She might have to gate crash your party barb to have a good feed. I am still in bed listening to the rain trying to convince myself to get up. I worked the last 2 nights and have another 3 shifts next week.

Two crockpots of soup cooking away slowly ... One is corn and chicken chowder and the other is old fashioned vege soup with a bit of this and a bit of that lol. Also have a bacon and egg pie cooking in a large roasting dish ... Will just reheat it tomorrow. Have 3 dozen crispy buns, a Cobb loaf and 2 dozen mixed savouries, a selection of slices to cut into bite size pieces and a large sponge cake. Do you think I will have enough? Oh and chocolate and cheeses for afters.

had #1 daughter and grandies here for a while, daughter crocheting a blanket she hasn't crocheted since she was a teen and is so enjoying it.
grandies sorted the quilt blocks I have made, haha great fun they had them all spread out all over the floor in alsorts of designs even a tree which they told me I should quickly sew together before it changes into something else haha
im over the rain now can someone please turn the tap off :(
hugs for you Wee, tis hard working nights I see how exhausted daughter gets and she is only doing 2 nights, not worth the bother of getting up now you may as well stay there, hopefully someone will feed and water you ? maybe I hope hehe :)

sunshine oooh thanks Dilli, sposed to of been showers here but showers have a break in between and there aren't any breaks its just constant rain,mumble mumble hehe its 6 degrees mumble mumble haha i know other places are colder but i would like to be outside for a while.
just got another update on Twi, they ended up doing the ct scan and waiting now for results .....
oh yes Bar what Dilli said nope not enough food cause we will be there haha

I text Twi for update and she was home, scan showed nothing wrong, she has now gone to sons for tea, said she will talk to us later.

hi everyone :)
i got home at about 5 ended up having a ct scan afterall so had to wait for radiologist for results he said everything looked fine and no new tumours or bowel obstructions so they are thinking renal colic but not certain but man iv never had pain like this befor not even child birth wasnt allowed to eat incase the was something and needed an operation
thank you so much for all the hugs hand holding and wishes the nurse who looked after me was just awesome and gave me a big hug when i left she said that i scared her when i was in so much pain and she helped me throu it iv had some much drugs and tube flashes i think my blood has turned white, all blood test came back ok
had a yummy ham sammie and a cuppa :)

we have sunshine ! I had to google just to make sure but yes that's what it is hehe seems so long since we saw it.
um Dilli we all met up april '12 and the thread started july '09, I had to go back to the first few pages to see how old we are and on about page 5 which was end august it says that chockie boy was turning 2 he will be 6, and Hollys grandie had just turned 1.
feels like ive known you all more than 4 years, gosh a lot has happened in those years.
haha Jumbo yes I am bad haha pretty neat stuff aye, im making another toadstool have the wire frame made.....

Twas minus 4 degrees frost here and boy could you feel it...tis still only 3 degrees outside but we have sun and a warm fire.

Phew I have surfaced for a coffeee.
need a couple of them badly.
Have emptied plastic containers so I can fill them again with the newer fabric.
(Got rid of all the Irish Dancing Stuff - patterns etc) they were taking up far to much room.
Have filled a few rubbish bags for the op shop and have a few bags ready to photo graph for trade me.
Sould be able to fit it all in my cantainers now bar the large box full of fabric. that will have to stay in there.
It feels good going through all that - and now me is getting sorted heheheeeeeeeee - thankgoodness for potion eh.
Coalie I went back to the beggining of the thread too and you had entered a auction of fabric you bought and that had the date on it heheheeeee
Yes it does seem so much longer. Your lovely quilt had 2010 on it and I though we had been taking for years by then heheheeeeeee We must talk to much then eh.......

I finished knitting my muminlaws gloves which my husband gave to her today and she likes them....phew!. They are made from a lovely baby blue alpaca yarn and go with the scarf I made her for mothers day. Here are photos of them both.

Wee! They are gorgeous! She is a very lucky lady. And bar has found another quilter in the family...well nothing surprising when we know how strong the genes are.
Guess what? DD who was sent to Sydney on a leadership course got to the airport to come home today only to find out she is coming home tomorrow. Too young for dementia...eccentricity could be the answer methinks.
