Dilli, I was thinking ( I know I know I do that sometimes hehe tis rare tho ) you were saying the other day about selling a sewing machine why don't you keep it and use it for the bobbin filling, I have one that I just use for the bobbins and I don't have to unthread the machine im sewing with to fill them. just an idea.

Coalie I have one spare amchine I keep for teaching the littles I could use that one. I am also getting my sisters machine when she sells her house so that will give me 3 machines again. Am selling the big one as I wont be making the Irish Dancing Dresses anymore and that needed a stronger heaver machine for the stiffing and stiffened applique sewing.
Have given the other to me daughters and grandies.

Good morning merry sunshines. It looks as though it is going to be a gorgeous day today. Well it will be here anyway because my girls are here!
Dilli...muttley and I always joke that its just as well we found each other because nobody else would have looked twice!! He has been very good to me...and I try to be good to him as well! Looks don't mean a thing to either of us...and now he is all upset because on the telly he looked like an old fart and he has always thought it was other people who have aged! Bless his little cotton socks...

Good morning everyone. Many thanks to those who made suggestions regarding the fabric I needed to give away. Sharon came round yesterday and took it all and in the end there would have been at least eight to ten lengths. So glad to have given it to somebody who may be able to use it. I'm certainly never going to dig the machine out and make anything. I grizzle enough when I have to get it out to do some mending! Now, back to the beading which is really very satisfying. Trouble is, I can never get rid of enough of it and the place is overrun with beads and findings and made up pieces of jewellery! I have a shop which sells my things but it's always slow in the winter. Next summer I'm going to set up a stall at the Riccarton Market which is held every Sunday and very popular here in Ch/Ch. Don't really think I want to do it at this time of the year! Happy sewing all of you.

Shall take some photos today, I'm terrible at photography especially since we lost our other camera and have a new one which is quite different. Love to read how busy you all are with your sewing. How do you find it from a financial point of view. I used to make all my children's clothes once, but today I think it would probably be cheaper to buy considering the cheap imports. Much more satisfaction in making your own of course, but far fewer fabric shops around these days. I know of only two or three in Ch/Ch now. Wool is terribly expensive these days too probably cheaper to buy but the quality wouldn't be as good same with sewing.

Boito, I don't sew clothes for myself, I am an op shopper with sometimes articles from the stores. I am a quilter with a fair size stash. I also work from home as a Long arm Quilter. Two days a week, sometimes more I work as a phlebotomist. In my previous life I was a spinner, knitter and a weaver,of which I have also supplies still sitting there. My other half, called the Dude travels a lot and is away for weeks on end, but I have really no time to be bored.

Hi everyone. I had a lovely time meeting boito yesterday and I got to see her beading which is amazing and with such tiny beads! Boito also crochets and does the most exquisite doileys and laces - no easy peasy stuff for this lady lol! Thanks again boito for the fabric and for the crochet books and hooks. I have started cutting out aprons for Mr 13's school but my knitting needles keep calling me so I am easily distracted.

Cool photos of twinkletoes Holly, your daughter in law is hugely talented with her cake art and I see Miss Twinkletoes didn't dive feet first in to her cake this year heheheehehehehe!

Sounds like you two had a lovely time Wee.
Boito ive only ever made girls dresses when they were little if it was for a special occasion, otherwise it wasn't worth making them. My clothes, the girls 4 of them give me their castoffs tis great, we are all the same size.
Quilting fabric I get most of it in here and some at the local quilt shop and also now and then at the op shop, tis possible to keep the addiction happy without too much outlay.
everyone must be watching the cooking tis quiet
better go find some snupper then everyone will be getting hungry watching, back soon

Good morning coalie...did you wet the bed? A beautiful day here in the bay starting with a heavy frost. Didn't sleep well last night...my two cats were not at home. They came in this morning as if nothing was wrong. They are now grounded for life. DD #1 from Wellington is going home today. She has left. Muttley has taken her to the bus already. Boo hoo. Oh lots of sewing Coallie,not me, zilch absolutely nothing. Was a gorgeous day here, went out for morning tea with an ex colleague, then went to Jumbo's and we went out including one Cinderella, no we didn't go fabric shopping, actually we didn't buy anything, but we had a lot of laughs along the way.

Good morning merry sunshines. Tis dark here...poor muttley is bemoaning the fact that the sun is not up! I have tried to explain that this is the way of the world but being a coordinator he wants things his way. Dream on muttley!
Breakfast in bed...he will deliver it soon so make sure you are decent.
We had an awesome day yesterday...but skippie neglected to tell you that she took us to an awesome fish and chip shop that sells some of the stuff found in Holland...and we ate up large!

Cross yourself at all road kill sites.
Wave enthusiastically at sheep.
Yell YOOHOO at cows.
Call...kakaw...at falcons/hawks.
Salute at all road signs with three or more sergeant stripes.
Make a zzzzzip sound accompanied by finger writing at those winding road signs.
Call loudly and repeatedly...HAZARD...as soon as you see hazard lights on a car until you pass said car.
Sing the circus music including whistles and hoops when you see a circus.

I'm not sure if I have them all...but it becomes very busy in the car!

Jumbo we always do 'yellow car' on trips, first one to see one yells yellow car and now and then there would be an orange car they were the ultimate to see. now there are lots of both but still play it.
will have to keep a look for the sergeant stripes haven't noticed them ...yet :)

Mum only left one out - if you see a car with one of those old number plates (black with white writing), the first person to shout 'spot it!' gets a point. If it's a false alarm you lose a point and if you get a point AND the car you saw it on was orange, the other person has to buy wine. Fun times!
