we had a very stormy nite here,
great day for sewing
off to do my grocery shopping today (you know the thrill of my day lol) will be getting very wet, but hay its good for the garden
im down to dail up again until the 23rd, then after that i think we should go to N.Ireland,ok

Goodmorning all, raining, sunny and so very hot here, no one slept well - too hot :(
Twilight there are 2, eight inch squares of that fabric but i can just cut out the word bits and put them on the sewing theme quilt :)

Hi Cindy, Love the quilt and yes I have used the backing as the border, it a good idea. However, just a small point, I am sure you all know this anyway but was told to me by an experienced quilter. If you use the backing as a border make sure that the piece which you fold over is a double thickness, the same as if you are doing a regular border. This is because the first part of the quilt to wear out is usually the border and double thickness helps to prevent this.

You are clever Cindy, my grandaughter would just love those cushions, anything with horses.
Have had a very productive afternoon, have sorted and zigziagged all my old batting and have enough for another quilt and still some left. One thing about quilting there is no waste. Have almost finished the binding, just last side to finish by hand so that will be tonight and will post a pic tomorrow.

Hehe Twilight there are so many pieces that go together that there is quilt after quilt without even pulling it out. Just found a 4 meter piece of a gorgeous red patterned one and a 2 meter piece of a blue sparkly one........maybe i should just empty it out properly and look through it.
But right now im sewing, got into a roll here........hubby cooking (im too busy hehe lol) shhh dont tell him this quilt doesnt have to be finished by tomorrow hehe wink wink ;)

oh i cant give it to you just yet, phones in his pocket and hes very busy so i cant interupt, hes washing the dishes and making me a cup of tea hehe ( really he is - spoiling me aye ) kids are drying them :)

Hi Ladies, I see as usual you are having a great evening. Been out of action this week cause I found more stuff on Belfast and have been following them up.
Had the most wonderful day had an arranged visit from my daughter in Auckland + 2 gkids. She rang at 9am this morning to see if she could bring extra visitors. Yep no problem who are they. Oh just your son, partner and daughter, (Auckland). Have not seen my GD since she was 3 days old. What a wonderful day we have just had. Son's partner has been tracing my side of the family so she will be filling in a lot of gaps for me.

Both lots flew down they are also meeting up with their cousins from down the line looks like they are having a cousin reunion. Grandie is going to be 5 this year. She is so beautiful and a real tomboy just like me. Even though she had never seen me or hubby before she came and gave us both big hugs. Means so much to me.
Enough I'm getting all choked up thinking about today.

Gosh Twilight thunder and lightning, we have a very still lovely evening. "T&A" just been for a long walk its so nice out.
