Thank you Dilli. I have been waiting for someone to come in and get breakfast ready...I am awake but still in bed. Well not exactly still...I am moving quite frequently! The cat needs a stroke, the eyes need a rub and the keyboard won't work by itself!
I had a great night at skippie's last night...stitched until 10:30 while skippie worked on a quilt. Her room is so well lit and comfy. It was great to get stuff done but time ran away too fast.

painting for me today, kids painted one bedroom pink with a black ceiling years ago, walls fine but ceiling not so will do the ceiling pink, the pink is the same as I did the bathroom tiles so have everything I need so will get it done :)

editing to say the colour is more of a magenta than pink ......

hi everyone its me im home LOL heheheh
yep stan was such a good boy carrying my pain pump for me
thanks for all the lovely thoughts and good wishes
im resting heaps the kids are getting me things but i still have to walk round and do excersices, was a long trip home but we did a few rest stops , my sister did a great job getting me food and stuff the food in the hosptal was just terrible :( had a fabo view of auckland and the helipad so could watch the helicopters commg and going
the docs were pleased with my quick recovery, my womb could not be removed because it was attacthed to my small bowel by scar tissue and still have some tumours left and they will hopefully go with the next chemo
i will be under the care of a gyniecologist here in rotorua for now and will start chemo in about 3 weeks

Dilli, I am here, sitting in bed googling. Went to daughters for our weekly Fish n Chips. Now in bed as tomorrow morning we are on the road early to go to Tote n Gloat in Palmerston North, that is a quilters get together, with traders, people showing their quilts and a guest speaker. Fun Day out for daughter, grand daughter myself and Jumbo, there will be a few hundred other quilters/crafters there. Anybody offering snupper?

Were home safe and sound with our little stashes, must say I am pooped, having such early starts all this week has me tired, I think I need an early night. Our day wash great, saw lots of nice quilts, lots of gorgeous fabrics and LOTS more ideas. Mutley cooked dinner and it was lovely, especially as I didn't have to cook it. Good morning all. Thanks for hot drinks and breakfast...I were parched.
Yesterday was grand. So much inspiration and the guest speaker was Cindy Needham from America who does exquisite quilting. There were not as many merchants as there was the last time I went but I think that was a good thing...the stuff was just too enticing. I promised myself that I would only buy some thread and some embroidery needles. I broke my promise. I bought two patterns, a ginkgo leaf stencil, and several bits of fabric. Oh dear. Then last night...even though I was absolutely poked...I stitched and was on such a high I couldn't sleep. Tossed and turned. Swore and cussed. Itched and scratched. Stretched and yawned...and eventually fell lightly asleep. Hope is I won't be a grumpy old bag today...

OMG Jumbo, I'm just green with envy!!! Cindy Needham is amazing! I'm doing her Craftsy class and just love her to bits! Did she bring her Nun's Quilt? Exquisite quilting is an under statement LOL... being a hand embroiderer I was shocked when I learnt that she quilts on beautiful antique linens but she takes such care with them, enhances them and brings them to a new level... just amazing fine work.She's queen of stencils too LOL. I want to hear more about her... please do tell!

Ivy...green you should be when I tell you I ran my hands over...and held in both hands..the Nun's quilt! She insisted that all her quilts were to be touched and felt. I don't think there was a person in the room who didn't. We heard all of what she said in her introduction on the Craftsy class with embellishments. All of her quilts had a story to them...and she often uses the pretty bits from old pillowcases for hanging sleeves. She is also a lover of quotes...and she includes a quote which has some sort of reflective message pertaining to her life at the time she was making each quilt on the back. It was truly amazing . Of course I have now enrolled in her Craftsy class too! She had a suitcase full of quilts to show and we heard all the stories. My favourite...apart from the Nun's quilt...was about her cussing grandmother! It was a great day...and I am still on a high!

OMG you TOUCHED the Nuns quilt? * quivers* what a joy! I love that she is very hands on... not a "do not touch" kinda gal... so sharing! Did you touch it too Skippie??? Isn't it just amazing how much detail she packs in to her quilts... her sunshine and shadow. Love how she adds beads too... its all in the detail. Oh Jumbo, you'll love her Craftsy class... a bargain too this weekend on special... and you get to watch it over and over and over and over LOL. Have any of your friends gone to her workshops? Be interesting to hear... see if we missed out on anything? Right off to find my hum purr... its been missing for a while ;-)

P.S. bet your "high" lasts for ages Jumbo!!!! What a buzzzzzzz!

I don't personally know of anyone who has done a workshop...but I love Craftsy because you can replay at your leisure. I have enrolled in a number of classes and am enjoying Laura .wasilowski's class too. Lots of hand stitching and my fingers tend to complain a bit but I'm trying not to listen!

QUESTION>
I have bought a Simplicity pattern for Quilt of the Day
(pinwheel quilting) but there are no pieces in it. The two sheets of instructions just say to cut strips to this length ect and dont show pattern pieces. The sewing instructions are in the pattern on the two sheets. Is this normal????? I have only ever had sewing patterns for clothes, toys, etc and there are always pieces but the instructions sheet show all the pieces that there should be in the pattern This pattern shows nothing like that. Many thanks for the answers.
