temp has dropped here and drizzle is now showers :(( coalrange1 - 2013-04-20 09:36:00
Oh coallie, another sewing day for you. Clouds are lifting here, we had rain overnight. Mind you. I am still sitting in bed checking my mail and cruising the Internet, so it might be cold out there, just don't know it yet. skippie1 - 2013-04-20 09:43:00
Good morning, another half a week of work done:o) Been pouring with rain here today, a perfect day for crafting. I hope to finish a scarf and start a stripey slouch hat for missy. I should really make a hat for Mr 13 who decided to cut his own hair to the scalp in patches over his head. He is now sporting a number 1 cut all over and it really does not look good on a 11 degree day lol! wee5 - 2013-04-20 11:48:00

Evening all .... I didn't wake up till almost 10am this morning ... So I have been chasing myself all day. Managed to get a couple of hours sewing this afternoon but am now about to start dinner preparations. My tummy is rumbling .... barbrose - 2013-04-20 18:33:00
oh no Wee oh yes make him a hat, he sure did pick the wrong season to do that didn't he, glad he didn't injure himself. coalrange1 - 2013-04-20 20:20:00
I got some done too! I am making houses from scraps and it is fun. I wanted all the skies to be blue...but I used lots of different blues in each block and thought it looked a bit busy. I have put the wonky borders on about 12 of them and now I think they look okay...so I will finish 49 of the buggers! jumbobon - 2013-04-20 20:36:00
And DD and SIL got a rescue dog today. Benji is a three year old Pomeranian and is very cute! jumbobon - 2013-04-20 20:49:00

Rise and shine everyone ....someone has to shine as the sun is still sleeping and the sky is crying. I didn't want to be awake yet .....but the jug has boiled and there is fresh coffee in the percolator. Leftover hot cross buns from Easter are warming slowly in the oven. Enough for all. Help yourselves. barbrose - 2013-04-21 07:52:00
Thank you! I loooove hot cross buns...you'd best hurry or there will be none left! What's on the agenda today then? Church for some of you...family and friends for some and stitching for some. Maybe all three for the lucky ones! Me? Not sure yet. Stitching for a while though... jumbobon - 2013-04-21 08:48:00

Wow that's a great bag Holly, lots of treasures will fit in there on shopping excursions. I got a 1/2 made bag at the op shop the other day with a pattern. its got a lot of room in too. will make it one day. coalrange1 - 2013-04-21 17:13:00
Geez Holly, you can stash a lot of wool in that bag when it is wide open! It looks great, something a bit different from usual bag patterns. Can you tell me what the pattern is called so I can try and locate it? wee5 - 2013-04-21 17:18:00

Wee, I still have a wheel, did a lot of spinning and weaving, it's not difficult to learn, very relaxing, unless you start setting yourself goals as how much you can spin in one night. If you do start spinning, borrow a wheel from someone, my favourite is a Majacraft with a double foot peddle.Had a Ashford before that but found that I couldn't spin fast enough on that. Also the bobbins from the Majacraft wheels are bigger, so less stop and starts. skippie1 - 2013-04-21 17:36:00
Gidday you fullas. The show was great and our boy was perfect...and soooo proud to see us all. Four of us went and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Got caught up talking shop afterwards though and have only just got home jumbobon - 2013-04-21 17:37:00

So who watched X Factor and cried when Stan Walker sang with that gorgeous girl? I did. Thanks for the tips about the spinning wheel Skippie, I hadn't heard of the Majacraft wheel before you mentioned it. Congrats on your daughter and boyfriend buying their own home Coalie, that is such a part of the kiwi dream to own your own place. wee5 - 2013-04-21 20:57:00
Hello again. Good luck with spinning wee. I'll put a fly in the ointment now! I find an ash ford fine for me. I don't do a lot of spinning now but used to and had no hassles...but then skippie is a speed whizz! I have been out in my shed. I wanted to put the borders on the ten houses...if you google Bonnie Hunter free patterns there are a heap of them with great instructions. I'm doing the happy scrappy houses. She did neutral skies but I wanted them blue. They are a bit busy but I think they will be fine when all of them are done. Here's mine so far. jumbobon - 2013-04-21 21:22:00
Thanks Wee they have both worked and saved very hard. coalrange1 - 2013-04-21 21:54:00
