Certainly was quieter! I had 3 wee nana naps during the day and still slept like a log last night. B3 was lovely, and we all had a great day, even went to Northlands Masll for a while Christmas shopping. I don't have much to do in that department now which is great now that both our pays are in the same fortnight. Christmas is going to swing round pretty fast from now on, I reckon.

Hi girls, well my boy got away to the states at 9am yesterday and arrived 3 flights later in Chicago about 2 hours ago. I was pretty uneasy till I had word he had arrived safely. I had visions of him being turned around and not allowed in the county for some silly reason. What a drama at
Auck air port. First we were told to check him in ourselves, the I explained he was on 3 consecutive flights and was told to join a short queue. Some dragon came along and told us to join the ordinary queue which, no kidding went all the way to arrivals. Another lady came along and I asked her were we in the right queue. She said no and go to the front and check. I met another lady who told us were to go, backed up by the first guy who told us to join the short queue which was now longer.

Then the dragon came up to us and told us we should be in the main one which was still down at arrivals. I put my foot down and said I was not moving. Finally we got him checked in for all his flights. The lady said she had been working there for 6 months and she had never seen so many people. They would be lucky to get checked in for their flights.

OMG what a saga smartgirl and a worry as well. Went to the change of Command of the Wing. I was so proud as they listed all my son's achievements,etc. Had no idea what was going on when they led us to the front seats and there was the whole wing standing on Parade. Then this car is driven up, saluting etc is going on all over the place and my boy steps out of the car. It was obvious that he is respected and well liked. He is a brilliant speaker as well. Ha ha. Even if I do say so myself. Had a lovely afternoon tea with the Wing. I said to him after if that is low key give me plenty of warning for anything else. I managed to look as a Wing Commander's Mother should in the time I had. Ha ha. Lousy day here raining so I visited my daughter at the beach. Hopefully my computer will be online tomorrow.

That airport stuff would have been a nightmare, smartgirl. Sounds dreadful.

Finally Hewlett Packard 's technician is arriving at 10 this morning to replace my harddrive and not with the same sort that is in my computer at the moment. Gosh I was tired last night, only got a fe rows of knitting done by the time I got home at nearly 9! Had a great morning with the Woman's Group at the A&P Show in the morning but I was very cold unfortunately but at least it didn't rain. Starting a bit later this morning so going to list some more wool I think. Darn computer is not allowing me use the email addresses on auction sites saying default mail client is not installed correctly. Any ideas?

I am up at the beach for the night, Driving down to see Mum for the weekend tomorrow, I just had my car in on Monday to get a cv boot done and now the exhaust has a small hole in it and it sounds like my grandson,s car!!!! I could just scream. Maybe I will, That feels better lol. My SIL says it will be okay to drive to Rotorua and back, I will have to get it fixed when I get back. Had a hell of a week and just need a break. Mum and I are going to be doing Taniko, Although we have an AGM for some of our land on Sat morn. Also one of our Volunteers is in hospital so we will scoot up the hill to see her for a short visit. I luv this laptop of my daughters. It has a great screen and large keyboard. Have to ask her what it costs. She and her Hubby have taken little K to a Wedding which is tomorrow up North, My granddaughter and I have been eating strawberries and choc dip. Yummy after our Pizza tea.Hope it is a nice day tomorrow. Don't like driving distances in the rain. Have a good weekend girls.

I am redesigning a part of our garden and can't believe the plants that are availasble on TM for great prices here in ChCh. Most are from red zoned properties which is very sad. There are some beautiful gardens over in those suburbs, must be heartbreaking for those gardeners. I'm definitely keen to rehome some of them.

Spent yesterday, picking up lots of new plants. Heehee. Then creating the first stage of the new part of the garden out the back. Have now decided to use the stones from an area that was covered with them to save money and put that area back to lawn which will increase our outdoor living area and play space. The lady that used to live here put lots of land into bark or stones for easy care but finding we are having to keep paying out for weed killer as everything is self sowing. I don't like all the neighbourhood cats (and mine) using the bark as a toilet either. Bark only keeps its colour for a year then mulchs down anyway . Heres to real gardens. So far I have planted day lilies, nerines, aquilegia and have 4 varities of hostas and some dahlias to go in. Picked up some hedging plants for the front as well to get rid of the very old trailing rosemary. 2 old, woody hebes out the front are going as well and being replaced by rose flowering carpets. (Red and white). Each step of our plan is probably a weekend of work so will take a while unfortunately. I can see the finished look in my head and want it done NOW! Haha. But I love having projects as well.

We've had nothing but problems with Marac since we bought the new car!!! They've now taken over $300 out of our account and I think it's for the contract thats been cancelled because of the number of mistakes in it. Grrrr! The worst thing is finding this out so early in the morning and having to wait till people get to work to sort it out!

Computer update - finally got TM emails to work! Hubby spent all afternoon yesterday trying everything he could think of to no avail. Son who is staying with us at the moment had a look, pressed a few buttons (or so it seemed), and now things are OK. He tried to explain it to me, but I certainly don't feel confident enough to try and tell you what to do. I'd probably only make things worse! He did seem to think that the updates had caused the problem.

Hi grizzly. Had a great weekend away with Mum and my sister. We had to attend a meeting but had great fun weaving and telling stories for the rest of the weekend. I attended two meetings for you know who and drove back last night after the terrible downpour of rain and hail. I have never seen such large hail stones. The mountain looked really pretty afterwards until the hailstones melted and all the water poured down the hills and across the roads. That was really scary I had to back the car up several times and drove on the wrong side of the road for awhile. Got home at 11 last night.

I knew I would have to pay a 2 month amount when we amended the car insurance but the amount they have taken out is twice that again! Where do these people get off? The highlight of a dreadful day yesterday was my daughter bringing me a crayfish for my tea. One of her property owners gave it to her and she can't stand them. Yum, yum, just what I needed and I didn't need to share with I. either as he doesn't like them. And no calories!

This darn laptop deleted my message. Stupid thing. I want to repot some plants but need to buy the potting soil. My girl up at the beach has just had a lovely big deck built at the back of their house and down one side. It looks fantastic. They have a roof over part of it. Great outdoor living as well as a huge trellis down one end to block the neighbours view. lol.Now she needs to re oil her outdoor table and chairs that have been boxed for the 5 or so years that she has been back in NZ. My great grandson and his Dad are up for the weekend as well so it is busy, busy.

I had a lovely day with B3 today and his mum (my daughter) till 10 minutes before he left he emptied half a litre of liquid laundry detergent and half a 1 litre of laundry powder over the floor and into my washing machine. Had to laugh at the image grizzly. Been there done that. Laundry powder is not cheap either. Got up early to the shops to do the weekly mission for groceries, came home unloaded and then went up to the beach with M and had lunch on the deck. Lovely. When the two little boys went down for their nap we left and went to the library. After that it was the park right next door to the Library. Miss 3 nearly 4 went on the flying fox all by herself. She has got so independent. She told me to just let her go. I did gulping air very fast. Her parents arrived just as she was getting on for another go. She really gave her father a shock. Then she zooms down the big slide and scampers up it like a little monkey. After the park we went to the Warehouse to get our potting soil and plants. I got Tui potting soil. Have not used it before but heard it was good. J who is 8 arrived for a sleepover tonight and miss M wasn't about to let him have all the fun after her great day with me so both little angels are fast asleep in the cottage with me. It is a full house here tonight. Lol. Managed to do a bit of my taniko tonight. My daughter, granddaughter and I are off to the movies tomorrow night. Guess what we are going to see Cannot even find the question mark on this laptop. Worn off. Lol

LUcky people. It has had such good reviews although my daughter was disappointed it has crammed so much into the first movie. Not much left of the book for the 2nd movie apparently. Looking forward to hearing your reviews. I will wait for the DVD to come out.
We spent the day in the front garden pulling, sawing and chopping the rosemary creepers out and replacing them with baby hedging plants to hopefully create a miniature border. Found out when I came on line that we had been working in 26 degrees! No wonder I'm burnt! I bought and picked up two white rose flowering carpets fromTM at only $10 each for the next step of the front to do next weekend. Such a good deal.

It is very wet down here this morning. Great for the garden not so much for truck driver husbands. One of the draw backs of going back to trucking unfortunately and he must be absolutely b#*@^ed after all his efforts in the garden yesterday. I am pleasantkly surprised this morning to find nothing hurts including the sunburn. It's a miracle! And I'm loving looking out the front window at the neat line of wee hedge plants.

We have a builder in the house and one of the phone lines was broken again. Honestly it drives me nuts. I have never ever known anyone to have so much trouble with the phone lines. Time for a check in to see what we are all working on, I think. (In the spirit of why Zoe set up this thread in the first place). I am currently knitting dolls clothes for our next stall on 12 Dec, crocheting a blanket to use up the odd balls of wool I have lying around, and occassionally working on a lovely cross stitch of a grandpa teddy in an armchair reading a book, Also reading the latest Janet Evanovich novel 'Smokin' Seventeen'. Have read the whole series and they are so funny. Can definitely recommend them.
Taking the women's group to play mini-golf this morning. How about you, ladies?

Hi there, well my SIL cut the phone cord whilst the renovations are being done so no internet or phone. Up at the beach today so online. I am still doing my Taniko headband. Have to really concentrate on that. Knitting summer tops as well. Have two mosaic items to grout this weekend. Can only do that when the kids are not around as M loves to get her hands into everything. Am doing Watergardens in pots for my daughter and a neighbour. This weekend I want to knit up a Christmas stocking for little J. Next week I am cooking my Christmas cakes as SIL is off again on Monday. i did some chrissy shopping last night so getting somewhere there. It is darn cold here so it is jeans weather today.

I love Christmas, so much happening and all the lights and decorations, my fave time of year.
I made my christmas cakes a few weeks agao, thats one job my daughter R loves to do with me, it was her nagging about them that got me motivated to do them. Now to finish this Santa lol.
