| That was really cool grizzly. What nice treats. My computer crashed this morning so I am having a hell of a time finding discs to reload things and I cannot find my USB dIsc for the internet so I am ripping what little hair I have left out. Plus I have lost all my addresses etc so when I get everything organized I will let you know. Have a great weekend. makerealbany - 2011-10-15 14:16:00 |
| What a disaster, you poor thing. Good luck! grizzly4 - 2011-10-15 19:03:00 |
| Lovely day here today, actually did some pottering in the garden. I have had a bad headache since Friday night and can't seem to shake it. I used to get 2-3 migraines a week from the age of 12 through to menapause. It was a dreadful and would prefer them not to come back, the 10 years without have been a delight. grizzly4 - 2011-10-16 15:01:00 |
| Finally the headache has shifted. Thank goodness as it's another week of early starts. Off to Blenheim this weekend to catch up with MUm and Dad, have to let them know there is another wedding. And thos dramas seem to be never ending. Hopefully things settle soon. THen I have a week off work next week and I am truly looking forward to more gardening and knitting. I still have 4 more bags of wool to go in the garage as well. I got an email this morning from TM saying I have achieved Top Seller status. It's all that b#8%# wool! Haha. grizzly4 - 2011-10-17 06:37:00 |
| You ARE a top seller in our eyes, you have done wonders with that wool for the shop ( when we get one ). Go Grizzly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! suzy59nz - 2011-10-18 14:26:00 |
| I wonder how makerealbany is getting on with her computer? It's one of the worst feelings ever when something happens our gadgets,eh? Remember the days before we had them? grizzly4 - 2011-10-18 16:48:00 |
| I'm trying to come up with an idea for my girls Christmas presents! They all need new mats for under their bowls but I haven't seen any around for ages other than supermarkets, and thats what they got already. Any suggestions on something a bit different? I thought of creating originals and laminating them for protection but won't be big enough I don't think. grizzly4 - 2011-10-18 16:51:00 |
| Bl--dy hell I still cannot find the disc to get the internet on. I used a USB wireless so we are connected in the house and I get my connection from there. My daughter is searching as well as I think I gave it to her hubby. I have all my other discs in a box labeled discs of course. What a bummer!!! I am so mad with myself. Anyway I have been so busy babysitting what with the school holidays and grandchildren going to Drs Specialists and darn hospitals. C has his surgery on Thursday to repair his nose and cheek. The old back is playing up at the mo so I am off to bed early. Bless you and keep well girls. makerealbany - 2011-10-18 19:10:00 |
| You must be bad, makerealbany! You said that at only 7.10 in the evening! Not like you at all. I hope you feel better soon. I have to work on the holiday programme today and we are taking them swimming. It's pouring so hard at the moment we are going to get soaked moving the kids from the bus to the pool! grizzly4 - 2011-10-19 06:48:00 |
| I know what you mean grizzly. I took 3 grandchildren down to Chipmunks today as it was pouring with rain off and on. The car park was full and there were lines of people outside so I took the kids to the Mall instead. We parked undercover and headed to the $2 shops. We have 3 there. The kids had a great time buying craft stuff and we headed home. Stopped at McDs drivein and grabbed lunch. Got home fed the baby and the kids, put little J to bed and sunk into the lazyboy to watch Bambi 11. Daughter arrived home from work early at 3.45 so she put the roast chicken on and I hung the washing on the indoor clothesline. Bathed the kids, fed them and they are now all in bed. I have the top tank filling up so I have to remember to turn that off before I go to bed. Haven't watched the news but heard you have lots of water down there. makerealbany - 2011-10-19 18:57:00 |
| Lots and lots and lots of water. When I passed the river on the way home it was to the top of the banks. I'm glad I was going earlier. And of the course the newly repaired roads are breaking up again cos of the water under the tarseal again. Even my back section was flooded which hasn't happened since we moved in 18 months ago despite 2 lots of snow. I'm officially on holiday from now, although I'm working on a stall all day tomorrow. Still hoping to get to Blenheim on Saturday but I. has a bad headcold and I don't want to be taking bugs up to Mum and Dad. Will see how he is by tomorrow. grizzly4 - 2011-10-20 16:52:00 |
| Oh dear grizzly I hope your hubby's head cold disappears so you can go and see your parents. C had his surgery today. Bit scary as his blood pressure dropped several times. He is of course in pain and cranky. His granddad is two floors down and his father said that old B won't last the night. Mind you they said that two years ago. Pretty devastating for C who is 18. I have had another full day with my grandchildren and tomorrow I hope to have a free day for me Yah!!!!1 I thought all that water would cause heaps more damage. you are as bad as me grizzly on holiday but working on the stall for the day. lol makerealbany - 2011-10-20 19:11:00 |
| I hope you have something nice planned for your day off, makerealbany. And for the long wekend as well for all you ladies. Weather looks a bit dodgy so have to make sure I take my knitting. grizzly4 - 2011-10-21 06:40:00 |
| Lovely weather today!!!! Hope it lasts all weekend espeicially for the game. Yah go the All blacks. I had a nice lazy day. You laugh. Well lazy days are so relaxed. just not planning anything is great. No time fixes. Lol makerealbany - 2011-10-21 18:54:00 |
| Busy day with the grandchildren today. I am going to sit and knit tonight. Hope you are having that weekend away grizzly. makerealbany - 2011-10-22 18:57:00 |
| Hiya smartgirl. How are you? I just got the dates for my visit to Rarotonga. Next year in March. I have been invited to attend the opening of their long awaited Building which must be finished by then. Very exciting. When I first went to work there we were in part of the oldest building on the Island Lol. Mind you that was early 80s. makerealbany - 2011-10-22 19:00:00 |
| A very nice day. Not too cool not too hot. Perfect for lawnmowing and washing cars. A has taken two children to the Domain with her sister and her nephews. J is asleep and I am maxing out after my bif effort this morning. Got to be ready and wide awake for the big game tonight. Still haven't got my computer fixed yet. Darn. Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend. makerealbany - 2011-10-23 15:21:00 |
| I'm back! Had a great weekend away - it was so good to see Mum and Dad after them not being well. It was a bit of a fright for both of them when MUm was ill because she's the one that organises etc. I. trimmed some bushes for Dad and then we cleaned out the kitchen cupboards for Mum - spring cleaning I mean not raiding them. Haha. They get so embarrassed when we do things like that because they are so independent. Oh well thay had better get used to it. We're family - not that they've been very good with that concept over the years. I'm really looking forward to my week off. I've brought home more lemons and grafefruit to make mor marmalade and want to clean fridge and freezer too. grizzly4 - 2011-10-24 15:53:00 |
| It was so warm over night but doesn't look as if it's going to last today. Darn it as I more washing to do yet. Oh well it will be indoor chores today and maybe knitting in front of a DVD this afternoon. hehe. grizzly4 - 2011-10-25 07:01:00 |
| So nice to hear that you had a good weekend and a lovely visit to your parents Grizzly. It was another warm day here. Got all the washing dry and took J for a nice long walk around the neighbourhood. My things change in the blink of an eye. They had even tarsealed the road down to the park. Wonders will never cease. Lol. Still have not got my computer going yet. Been too busy with babysitting' gardening and all the other chores. Ha ha. Have to get it done this week as SIL is back next week. Not that he would mind but I like my privacy. Lol. makerealbany - 2011-10-25 18:57:00 |
| Fletcher's are here today for a second assessment of damage to the house. I am dreaduing them telling us we have to move out while they fix it. I can't leave the girls so don't know what to do yet. Most people aren't getting much notice - about a week. Next door is just painting and plastering and they've been gone a week so far. grizzly4 - 2011-10-26 06:45:00 |
| Gee whizz grizzly it never ends does it? I hope it gets sorted quick and you don't have to move out. The poor cats. My grandsons cat(that I got for him when he was a couple of months old) Swammi was just a kitten as well. Well poor Swammi has just got home after a week at the vets. He had chrsytals so he could not pee. My daughter said the night before he was jumping around and the next morning he was crying and could not walk. K was upset as were his brothers and sister. M was in tears and we thought he had been poisoned. Well he had but at lest he is on the mend now. We nearly had the talk about cat heaven. It was dreadful but my son told us the same thing happened to one of his boys. The cats hold on to pee when they are in a warm house in the winter and do not want to go outside. Vet said he had 5 cats in there same thing. makerealbany - 2011-10-26 12:33:00 |
| Hi Grizzly, get the contractors to work around you , i was told they would as they don't need you to move out just to decorate, unless it is stuctural, just tell them what you want, thats what they said to me. Just waiting now for the project manager to contact me, i dont want to move with the dog and cat, was thinking about a campervan up the driveway then at least we could use the bathroom and kitchen in the evening, my ex boss said we may be able to move in to one of the empty villas at the rest home too, so just have to wait and see. with having a collapsed Chimney and all the celings to be repaired and the roof and all the walls in every room not sure how long it will take. its all a waiting game. suzy59nz - 2011-10-26 20:06:00 |
| So far so good. Will take a week (apparently) and they are prepared to do the house in halves so we can live in the other. The lounge, dining, kitchen and sunroom need to be scaffolded as they are high ceilings with lovely exposed beams and all the panels need to be replaced. The 2 bedrooms are normal but cracks need plastering and painting. Even if the walls are ok if there is a split where the ceiling joins the wall the repair to this will mean the walls are to be painted. (Sigh) They reckon it will be around Christmas. grizzly4 - 2011-10-27 07:13:00 |
| Oh my goodness you girls are still having it rough. I do not like workmen around the place. Drives me crazy. They always make a bl#**dy makerealbany - 2011-10-27 18:46:00 |
| Your knitting bag ! That is very funny, sorry it took so long to find them though, very frustrating. Had a good day today, saw my supervision client, in a cafe attached to my favourite plant nursery then went plant shopping. Raced home in time for some sold goods to be picked up. Phew! Made important phone calls that I keep putting off to Inland Revenue then pottered around in the garden for awhile. grizzly4 - 2011-10-27 19:26:00 |
| Happy Birthday Suzy!! Hope you have a wonderful day! grizzly4 - 2011-10-28 07:01:00 |
| Happy Birthday Suzy, Have a great day, are you doing anything exciting tonight? smartgirl - 2011-10-28 11:45:00 |
| I have been so slack as usual, it is neat to read all that has been happening on here. It was great catching up makereal. I cant win, there is someone at the door now. smartgirl - 2011-10-28 11:48:00 |
| I know how that feels, smartgirl. I have been trying to make an apron for part of my daughters xmas present all week. Thought Wednesday would be good as I was stuck here with house repair people anyway but no two more visitors one after another after they left. This morning before Suzy arrived I had the people with the Watchtower magazine at the door and then some other people were here looking for sponsorship for something. No wonder my girls spend most of their day under my bed cover if it's this busy when I'm at work. They hate visitors. Mind you I usually shut the big gates. grizzly4 - 2011-10-28 14:31:00 |
| thank you girls for the birthday wishes, had a good day. Had a lovely morning having lunch with Grizzly( got water from her too). Then did the groceries and then me and my 21 year old daughter made our Christmas cakes, love the smell in the house when they are cooking, just have to resist eating them now till December lol. We bought Pizza for tea and my 24 year old daughter came over, got some lovely pressies. All over for another year. suzy59nz - 2011-10-28 21:29:00 |
| I can't believe it! My lovely new computer is telling me to back up all files immediately as hard disk is at risk of imminent failure! It doesn't have a hard disk!! I bought a DVD from the Warehouse last week which was marked 'Imported'. Didn't think this would be a problem as we had our DVD player converted to multi regional when we bought it. BUT of course it was and couldn't play it on the Xbox either so finally yesterday played it through the computer and now this is happening. I feel sick about it and only hope I.'s brother can help when he finishes work. Good grief. grizzly4 - 2011-10-29 07:11:00 |
| A belated Happy Birthday Suzy I can smell those yummy Christmas cakes in my mind. Great work. Nice that you had an awesome day. makerealbany - 2011-10-29 18:40:00 |
| Omg grizzly I hope you get it fixed. Mine is still not working. My SIL cannot find the disc. They don't sell them anymore so I am trying to download a copy. I even tried to buy another set but they don't make them like that anymore any my computer savy sons have been really busy. I am off tomorrow to visit one to pick his brains. Lol. At lest my computer is really ancient like about 10 years old. The boys keep saying buy a new one. With what I would like to know? Ha ha. I so begrudge spending money on something like this unless it is vital. Lol. makerealbany - 2011-10-29 18:46:00 |
| HE CAN"T FIX IT!!!!! Says we have to take it back to the shop tomorrow as there is something seriously wrong for a new computer to do this. I have 56 auctions to manage !!!!!!!! I'll be having to go into work early each morning for personal time on the computer. I really don't need this. grizzly4 - 2011-10-29 20:15:00 |
| oh no, thats not good, wonder how long you will be without it .Great things when they are going right. good luck, if there is anything i can do let me know. see you Wednesday suzy59nz - 2011-10-30 19:08:00 |
| We have the white 'screen of death' on our computer now. HP are sending a technician to replace the hard drive this week hopefully. grizzly4 - 2011-10-31 06:39:00 |
| BUGGER suzy59nz - 2011-10-31 13:44:00 |
| I ll say. I am not having any luck either and it is driving me crazy. My other SIL is home on Wednesday so I will have more time to get it sorted. I am absolutely buggered and I cannot wait until he gets home. Had a full on day and I am off to bed early and I am going to ignore my phone. makerealbany - 2011-10-31 19:04:00 |
| It was hard work being back at work yesterday as well and it was so hot! Lovely but no air conditioning in my office. I'm sharing it with a new member of staff as well and a bloke to boot! He's very nice and looks like Prince William with manners to match but it's still different. It's been 5 years since there's been a change of staff in my office. grizzly4 - 2011-11-01 06:34:00 |
| extra attention with make up and hair from now on eh? ;-) suzy59nz - 2011-11-01 14:41:00 |
| Right on suzy!!!!lol. They say a change is as good as a holiday grizzly. makerealbany - 2011-11-01 18:22:00 |
| How rude! Haha. Typical bloke doesn't pick up after himself though. grizzly4 - 2011-11-02 07:35:00 |
| I can imagine that grizzly. Lol. I am knitting cotton tops for the children. Doing a lovely bright yellow at the moment. Cheerfully sunblazing. Ha ha.I have quite a lot of cotton in my stash and it is nice to knit for a change. SIL is on his way from the Airport in a cab.Hurrah Boy I have had a hard month. I was re reading a birthday card my son gave me and I had a good laugh " you know when you are old your back goes out more than you do" and a heap of other gems. Nice day here today. makerealbany - 2011-11-02 18:25:00 |
| Sounds like some very cheery knitting. Had a disappointing morning out for our Women's Group yesterday. Went all the way out to a garden outside the city where I had arranged for us to have a devonshire tea but the woman had been sick, hadn't let me know and wouldn't do anything for us once we were there. All 13 of us! Thank goodness we had a great bus driver who took us to a cafe a bit further afield. No way to run a business, me thinks. grizzly4 - 2011-11-03 06:46:00 |
| Ill say how awful grizzly. I am in a flap. My son is handing over command of his unit tomorrow and there is a full dress parade. I am expected to attend so I have grabbed a silk 3 piece suit out of the warddrobe to wear. Thank heavens it was always loose on me because now it fits. It is really pretty and timeless, many blessings for that. I was besides myself thinking "what will I wear." Talk about short notice. I was yesterday but not that it was this Friday. I am going to put a colour in my hair tonight, race to the hairdressers first thing in the morning and then tear next door and get my eyebrows and lashes done. The Parade is at 1. Now I have to get myself back to the cottage and clean up that mess before I can concentrate on the me mess. Ha ha. Have a great day tomorrow girls. makerealbany - 2011-11-03 18:13:00 |
| Wow talk about organised! Most impressive. It's been a long week, thank goodness it's FRiday tomorrow. grizzly4 - 2011-11-03 19:49:00 |
| It seems to have been a week of fixing stuff! Car Dealer made two mistakes on the paper work for the new car so the whole deal had to be redone, HP have ordered a new hard drive for our computer and we are waiting for it to arrive in the hands of the technician so he can come and install it and Ian's boss has changed his pays to fortnightly and then short pays him by $450! I am dreading taking my car for a warrant this morning - do you blame me? grizzly4 - 2011-11-04 06:36:00 |
| I got woken at 8am this morning by two bbilders who had come to take down my chimney, a phone call would have been nice . Guess i am lucky they have arrived at all. My little dog was a bit stressed out with all the noise, but she is at the groomer now so that got her out of the way. Next trying to get them to replace my flu so i can have the log burner going, its only 2 years old suzy59nz - 2011-11-04 13:01:00 |
| Thats so early! Poor you and Bella. Only B3 here today and his Mum will join us after lunch as she is working. DIL has decided her family only needs to come over fortnightly, apparently they only came over during the winter each week 'cos they had nothing better to do! Tact is a fine thing, eh? I will miss the boys and B3 will miss not getting to play with them so much too. Oh well, it will certainly be quieter. grizzly4 - 2011-11-05 09:36:00 |
