Kuaka if people come to my house and don't like it tough. lol when I go to see someone I go to see them not the house. I like a place lived in. I hate to feel like Im mucking up a house cos its spotless.

join the club popeye - my thoughts exactly. I'd rather they called and found me in a muddle than didn't call at all - and they always know where to come when they have a problem with knitting or want some crochet around the edge of something or want some jewellery repairs. My home is always open but now always tidy.

I don't remember my mum ever saying someone couldn't come in 'cos she was in a mess - at least I was up and dressed, even if I wasn't showered and all sparkly clean!

Looks like the rough weather is about to hit. I took the tarp off the firewood today and put it over the beans (I've put too much effort in to them to have them wrecked by the wind and the rain) so then I brought what was left of last winter's firewood up to where we store it handy to use. By the time I'd done that I was pretty knackered, so I've sat and knitted all afternoon with a multi-coloured furry puss on my lap who complained loudly every time I got up to spend a penny or make a cup of tea. Bless her. She knows that indoors is much better than outdoors at the moment, and she would normally not be in all afternoon at this time of the year. I wonder how bad it will get. I'm pleased we put all those extra nails in the roof the last summer - there were whole rows missing.

Right, I'm going to settle in and do some more knitting.

Don't need air conditioning here carolev - it is far from tropical.

phew.. the internet is back, it's been off since 2.00pm and no cell phone coverage either. It's starting to cloud over and the temperature is dropping - let there be rain!!

I've finished my crochet blanket, finished the edging with the Furry One sleeping on it as I crocheted lol. He got a tad growly when I needed to move the blanket but I just growl back at him. I'll take pics tomorrow when the lighting is better and post them. Am very pleased with it. I even have enough squares left over to make a blanket for the portable cot which won't take long to do.

well she's certainly made her presence felt up here, I thought the flue for the woodfire was going to blow off the roof last night, this morning there is debris all round the garden, the dustbins are blown across the lawn, some sheets of corrugated iron blown round the garden (thought they were safe where they were), the tarp that I put over the beans had come loose and was flapping on the beans so probably wrecked some of them, but I guess it could have been worse. It's still blowing a gale and very thick misty rain, the tide is about to lap across the road. I wonder if the farmers will be happy or will they say we didn't get enough rain.

Looks like I will have a bit of a tidy up this morning and then do some serious knitting.

morning ladies :) lots of wind and dark clouds but NO rain! Farmers need at least 200mls of rain and nice and steady, not dumped in one hit. The water when I water the garden just pools for ages before it drains away. We've had our paddock fertilised so need the rain to soak it in. The wind is blowing dust from the onions fields and it's like we are living in a dust storm - so much for housework on Thurs, you can write your name in the dust on the coffee table this morning!

Still, it will be a good day for stitching or knitting :P without the guilt!

Got my spotlight letter this moring. They have a scanner cutter machine, I thought of you carole. It looks like a printer. I think its for patchwork tho.
They also have new wools. And a book with heaps of patterns in 60 plus for $4-99. Hope they still have one when we go up to the clinic on the 27th.

Wish we lived closer to one.

Ive decided to do this Doll My way and its working out a lot easier. shes a skinny wee thing. Total of 32 stitches for her body. With loooooong dangly legs lol.

lmao sue, love it! morning ladies :) Well our ground is still dry - the wind seems to be drying it out as fast as the rain falls. Hopefully today we will get some decent wet stuff.

Need to ice the banana cake and eclairs today for dad's birthday tea - omg eclairs are so easy to make lol. I suspect I will be making them again :P

Knitting today, I think. I need to plan my next project. I have an idea, just need to think it through.

Yay comp seems to be working ok this morning.

Well the Ugly Cow Doll is in the bin. Its the weirdest pattern I have ever seen. Rang my SIL and am doing a much bigger doll and making all the clothes for it.
The body on the ugly one was only 6 stitches fatter than the arm on the new one.. so I will enjoy my knitting again.. I started a purple pinafore last night since I had the right colour in the basket. I have like a mini shopping basket that I put the colours I need for a project in. So I will get the rest this morning.
Been quite windy here. The rubbish bin was at the ranchslider. And the compost bin lid was over the fence, but is retrieved. Warm tho, 22 degrees already.

Perfect weather for sitting and knitting.

Just wish it was cold I fancy a cup a soup and toast lol

Cant wait to see the next projects. mine will be on Fb later since I cant put it on here.

There is some spectacular video footage on fb of the sea crashing over the road on the waterfront at Paihia, but yes, have to agree it wasn't as bad as we thought it would/could be, certainly had worse before with no warning. We didn't get the 60 knots of wind (although we are sheltered from any winds with a bit of Easterly in them) and we didn't get enough rain. We've got plenty of debris to clean up - make that, "I" have as his nibbs won't be able to help.

Going grocery shopping later (corned beef on special) but not planning on a big shop, then home to catch up on the tidy up - had a long nana nap yesterday afternoon, just couldn't stay awake, so didn't get as much done as I had planned. Oh well, there's always another day tomorrow.

Knitting this afternoon methinks.

home from the supermarket, missed out on the corned beef special - it all went yesterday morning apparently and was "while stocks last" so no rain check. Oh well, there was no way I was going out yesterday. Quite a lot of sand all over the road on the waterfront and debris everywhere but I think it could have been a lot worse.

We had a nice amount of rain, and judging by the clouds we will get more today. Might throw a load of smalls in the dryer this morning.

Yay the blanket finally sold. Its off to Wellington . Thought I might try the local selling group on fb for the jumpers etc today. There seems to be a lot of younger mums on there.
Got the two head bits and souls of feet done yesterday and a few more rows on the pinafore. Am enjoying making the doll for Hannah much more now that I have a pattern that speaks in English lol.

Big steps hahaha NOT the toolbox has made it to the garage. Its been sitting on the end of his bed since last week. Don't want to rush these things lol

foggy here this morning which means no wind - yet. I started a pair of fingerless gloves yesterday with a ball of the wool that I had died. I was going to get all adventurous and do them using the magic loop (which I haven't got the hang of yet) but of course the one circular needle that I haven't got is the size I need - I'm sure I must have it somewhere as I have the packet for it, so I've started them on five needles and might search for the circular today.

Real thick pea-souper this morning, if it turns out anything like yesterday did it will be a fabulous day. Going to try to finish waterblasting the driveway this morning - would have finished it yesterday if I hadn't had to get rid of all the debris on it from cyclone Lusi. No other plans for today other than to go to the first half of my usual Tuesday afternoon out, and call in and post a package on the way home.

Mr K had a phone call from the hosp yesterday cancelling his appointment for Monday 24th as they had overlooked the fact he needs a CT scan before the appointment so they've now made an appointment for the scan at a private clinic and then a hosp appointment both same day but not till 14th April. Seems as though he will have his wretched collar on forever.

Thick fog here too, can barely see across the road so I guess autum is going to kick in.

My wool/yarn stash is almost gone! Mind you, it wasn't a huge stash as I have only picked my needles up again 12 months ago but boy it feels good to look in the spare room and see that blanket and now the cot blanket and know it cost me next to nothing as it was mostly 'leftovers'.

Quite warm up here now. And Im having toad in the hole for tea, Ive wanted some for the last week or so. trust me to have it on the hottest days for a couple of weeks lol.
The day MrP cleans up after bobcat if he throws up, will be the day the moon turns to cheese lol.
Have finished one leg and started the next. Bliss having sensible instructions.
My SIL sent me a neat pattern for a jumper with a collar and plaketts (sp) it has a picture on it. but Im intending to make with different colour bands and collar to the main colour which will be variegated blues greens and cream. Think Ill do plain blue bands etc.
Then once that is done it should be cool enough to get to my blanket finally

well the car passed the WoF and yes... it did come round fast! This time it's for a year :) They even washed the car for me and didn't charge me for adjusting the wee button by the brake pedal to stop the brake lights from being on all the time. So all legal now :P

Nothing took my fancy in the wool shop pattern wise... I want something 'different' to knit or crochet, I'll know it when I see it! The patterns all seem to be the same old same old... maybe it's just me seeing the same patterns from years gone by being revamped, I dunno. Oh well.. will keep looking :P

I had a quick flick through the patterns at the Oppy this morning. Time they through all the rubbish out so we don't have to wade through it.

Got a few buttons. Got some black wooden toggles. Arent they meant to have a hole in them to be able to sew them on? these ones don't lol.. Black and in a bag so I didn't notice till I got home lol.

Finally got my washing out, at 11-45 lol hahaha a friend called and I got side tracked .. I never put my washing out that late...

Can sit and knit this afternoon and rest my back which is complaining today

Thank you Carole, Can I pay you for them and postage.. I have a cardy/jacket in mind, its done in garter stitch and just plain so thought the toggles would be a good look on it.

Off to town today (Pukekohe). Time to stock the meat freezer up again. Will probably have lunch out, that will cheer the man up.

Finished the scarf, did ribbons, the back and one front of a jacket for Dolly yesterday. Am 3/4rs the way through the second front and I forgot I was going to put buttonholes in it. The pattern uses domes and puts a button on the front to cover it. I changed that on the pinafore. but Im not going to undo the second front so will have to use domes. Just as well I save things like that and have some in the sewing box.
Will then make the mittens a hat and a summer dress and she will be done. Well I have to actually make her up but I always do that at the end lol.

Woke up extemely sore this morning. Had codeine before I got out of bed. I think my bed is just too comfortable, I sleep like a log.

Finished knitting the wee jacket for Dolly. Have got the hat, mittens and sundress to go. Then Ill put it all together. Not bad considering I only started on Saturday night.

Wont be doing much moving around today so will get some more done.
