Lovely day for the wedding Twilight, not toooooo much champagne at the reception, you mightn't be able to sew straight tomorrow.
When are we going to Northern Island?
Bhs, I had a really good friend in London and he used to ring his Mum in Belfast and he told me one night, when he rang, he heard a loud last and when he asked his Mum what it was she said "Oh just a bomb going off in he next street". He said they were all so casual about it, he really worried about her - that would have been in the early 70's as I was there for nine years.

puter crashed for a while :( phew tis ok now.
sewing theme quilt Cindydog, just an ordinary quilt but im using fabrics that are all sewing themed - thimbles, thread, sewing machines, tape measures etc etc. and have some printed sayings about quilters to put on too.

Hi Holly, oh for a start i thought the thimble was $50 hehe, that was a good shop you had, wow bet you couldnt believe the quilting fabric was down to that price.

Man thimbles are blardy dear !!! Went to Spotlight today to just buy a thimble and ooops $50 later !!!! Just had to buy a few fat quarters, some fabric for binding my quilt,Lol 3 different ones that none of them matched !!,and a few pieces of quilting fabric that was down to $2.00 a mtr,had been $15.00,so I really just couldn't leave it on the shelf eh ???? Oh and some pretty quilting pins :)
Franny my sisters quilt was a pattern that she picked up somewhere in her travels a few years ago.
Been stitching in the ditch today (well trying to) and my wee quilt is now ready to put the binding on.
Hope you have had a lovely day at the wedding twilight.

Oh i've had those days...

I was just thinking about how much we have learnt quilting wise since starting this thread, from what we were making when it started to what we are making now. It hasnt really been going very long but we have come along way, maybe eventually we would of all got to this same place but i think not. We are all trying to do better every time we make a quilt now, and trying different things.
Alot of it has to do with the fact we can put pics on and are so inspired by pics that it encourages us to try things.
I just want to thank each and everyone of you, its great to know you can ask a silly question and you wont get a silly answer hehe lol
I know i still have along way to go but getting there is 1/2 the fun with you all :)
Thankyou :)

Wonder how Twilight is feeling today, hope her head isn't toooooo sore.
Congrats from me to Cindydog, a proper Trademe person now with a number.

here is mine and after taking the pic , i noticed one of my half squares are in the rong place , and i had it layed out on the bed , i numbered it and still didnt pic up on it , man ,o man

Cindydog, one of the great things about making things yourself, is you are the ONLY one who knows it's not supposed to be like that, if anyone else asks... "thats how you planned it so it wasn't too symmetrical" or some other excuse... Looks fab by the way!!

Hi Coalrange, love it and the small blocks are wonderful. Think you need to put sashing between the blocks maybe sort of break it down to the a large block in the middle with the blocks around the outside then sashing (a border) around that and then another border around the next lot of panels, not too wide though just ½ or 2 inches for the sashings then the same around the outside and then the border panel. I would use either of the fabrics, whichever you think is the best for the sashing and then the other for the outside border - well you did ask. Hope I am not sticking my tencents worth in too far. Not sure how you are planning to incorporate the wordy bits but these could be interspersed with the outside sashing before the border - grief I don't know if I am making sense.

It looks fantastic Cindydog, if you hadnt pointed out the mistake i would'nt of noticed. Clever girl, you made that one fast :)
Love the fabrics :)

Yours is really pretty Cindydog, you are like me I love just about all fabric but love pinks and blues. What do you mean some of your half squares are in the wrong place? I can't see it. Liz is right, no-one else knows how it was meant to be and if you look at some prize winning quilts at shows a lot of them have an "on purpose" mistake because quilts aren't meant to be perfect.
