I will never make a Queen size quilt again, have been at it nearly all day and just hit the halfway mark. Looks good though. Might finish the quilting tomorrow but have to take dog to the vet in the morning. The thing on her snout hasn't gone down. Doesn't look too good to me but vet wasn't concerned. Hope she is OK, we have only had her 7 months, got her from the SPCA and is really gorgeous, we made a good choice. Turning computer off now so early nite, nite all, might see you tomorrow.

Awwww Franny what a day youve had but at least you are half way there. We will remember your words of wisdom - never make a queen size quilt like Frannys one. Twilight your ones will be ok you dont have to quilt them - still alot of work tho i know.

yay binding going on today. Got my old featherweight singer sewing machine out and tried to fix it, will have to take it to the sewing machine fixer guy. Does everything right but doesnt catch bobbin thread so wont be much wrong i dont think, i hope.
much prefer sewing with it so will get it fixed so i can :)

That pink quilt is just gorgeous Hollyj, did your sister make it from a block of the month pattern. It really is lovely and the quilting too.
Reverse stitching Coalrange!! unstitching sounds like you have made a mistake, not that you have we know. Reverse stitching sound clever don't you think.
Just back from the vet and took the dog for a long walk, very, very hot here. No more computer today, more quilting.

Yes think dog is OK, vet said he thought it would just go of its own accord, apparently quite common in young to middle aged dogs. Ours if about 5'ish. Just about to start quilting now, thought I should do a bit of housework, husband is glued to the tennis so no help there, he usually does the vacuuming for me.

im sposed to be sewing the binding on but keep doing other things hmmm
i took machine to sewing machine fixer man and he said ooooh these machines are in big demand by quilters and they have pushed the price of them up. i know its a lovely machine to sew with but i didnt realise they were in demand ! i did read on google how a lady had quilted her quilt using one, doesnt have a special foot for it tho so i dunno ? will try it and see what happens :)

Sorry to hear about your pig Cindydog, must have been a bad fall to break its back. Yes Coalrange, your machine is very sought after, especially in the U.S. - have a look on Ebay and that is in U.S. dollars.
Have finished the quilting middle, now just the borders but have had enough for today. Finish to tomorrow and then just have to cut the edging and put it on. I like handsewing. Don't you use a thimble Hollyj - I used to be like that and one day my finger was so sore it was bleeding and in desperation used a thimble and have used one ever since. Once you have got used to it you will never hand sew without one.

No hes not fishing, too much work.
we are having roast apricot stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes, minted peas and salad with everything you can think of in. Most of them home now, but still waiting :(

i havent done any sewing today my grandies were here this avo and then son decieded to stay for tea, we had bacon and banana pancakes yummy,my niece is getting married in the redwood forest, im in charge of the wine for the toast after the ceramony, have to go early and set up a table then pour the wine into the small vine glasses, the wine is going to be in clilli bins with ice in it,
