And whats more !!!!If we think about it what is the difference between a Telegram and a Letter when it comes to postal terms.
Both items are received by the post office transported(by way of truck,Train, ship plane or wire) then received again then delivered to the recipient.,

the smaller left appears to be 1907-8 but there are 3 different perforations listed
the larger stamp is 1900 but again there are 4 or more types--does it have a watermark and what are the perforations

The smaller one has what looks like NZ, and a star on the back..

The bigger one is hinged, so cant see any marks..

Perfs are not too good, so hard to count..

I've had this example before. It is almost certainly a changeling, where the green has changed to blue. This happens commonly with green stamps when the effects of light or chemical action (such as bleaching) remove the yellow pigment, leaving it a blue colour.

Does anyone have some bulk 1950 Canterbury 1d cathedral stamps in bulk that they could list please at a reasonable price. My friend makes them into pendants. She initially made them for the Red Cross Earthquake Appeal and raised $1200 for the fund. She is finding it hard to get enough cathedral stamps so it would be great if someone here could help. If you do a search of 'Cathedral Pendant' you will be able to see what she makes. Thanks.

All organised. i have now sold 2 lots of 100 Canterbury 1d stamps to different Christchurch people. it seems that a lot of Christchurch cathedral souvenirs are being made now that the building looks like it will be no more.

My friend was really happy to be able to buy from you. Yes it's very sad that the cathedral is going. I'm finding that cathedral postcards are very popular at the moment as well.

there are lots of people currently collecting all sorts of things to do with the Cathedral and other Christchurch buildings which have succumbed to the earthquakes. I have virtually sold out of my Cathedral Postcards.

The latest Scenic Kiwistamps x booklets easily peel off sendings - anyone else encountered this with them lifting 5 minutes after firmly stuck on letters ?

And when they hit the Post system & processing expect more losses & returns

Not a good look for NZ Post on their product testing, processing or follow-on when things correctly stamped are returned due to their own processing and/or defective product with the standard Post line 'Put more on and resend' to replace what has been flogged in / by their system.. ;-)

Why on earth would you use those stamps on mail to a stamp collector when we have far better choices such as the great RNZAF 60 cent stamps currently available everywhere. Your customer would certainly appreciate receiving one of those rather than a scenic kiwistamp on their mail.

Robin Gwynn from Napier is to become a RDP. this is the Roll of distinguished Philatelists and to be asked to sign the roll is the highest honour a philatelist can achieve. He will no doubt go to London later this year to sign the roll. Well done Robin!

If you are looking for some nice stamps to use for postage for collectors but want the ease of self adhesive look at the 2011 Beyond the Coast. They are mostly 60 cents with a couple of $1.90 for those ones to Australia.

as a matter of interest can collectors check their 1959 poaka and tete health mini sheets and check whether the sheets have perforations into the left hand selvedge or not

Don, I have both sheets perforated left and right and i have both sheets perforated only at right.
Or to put it another way the only imperf sides found are at left and this happens on both sheets. I have not found an imperf at right sheet.

My two unhinged mint 1959 Health MSs have perfs that go through both selvedges.
I have one used which is the same as the mint and one where the perfs only go through the right-hand selvedge.

I also have a 'Poaka' MS on FDC where the perfs only go part the way through the left-hand selvedge - there are only two perf holes.
It does, however, have perfs through the right-hand selvedge.

The main question at hand is whether or not the self-adhesive qualities (or lack thereof) has been addressed by NZ Post. Further to that, are the RNZAF stamps self adhesive? Perhaps the problem occurs with other self-adhesive stamps?

No the RNZAF ones are water activated and i have had no problems with any falling off. I always prefer to use my tongue which makes it easier to regulate the amount of moisture applied.

Don, I don't understand what you think is scarce. Do you mean you have some sheets which are imperf at right. That would be the only possible scarcer variation.

About half of the 20 or so I checked had perfs at left side. Not any scarcer than the standard perfs into both sides from what I can see.
