just got back from going up the gondolas with mum, they have a jelly bean shop up there now mmmm black ones are my favorite mmmm yummy
family bbq tonight :)
had a awesome time last night with my work mates and the food was to die for mmm yummy !!!!!
tis a fabo day here have the doors and windows open

Fab day here too...oh coaly love your chook house haha so original i bet its the only one like it...master 8 months just left his mum my dil and son 2 went to the pool with my daughter and miss 2 ..our fab new aquatic centre seabay...the tiles in there are so slippery tho, there has been all maner of complaints from people slipping over on them...what were they thinking putting those in a wet area!!! idiots...now for a bit of r and r with me feet up...i forgot how the babies wear you out when they dont want to sleep or am i just getting old...probly lol.

yay Holly that christmas prezzies almost done :) im making munchkin a hopscotch floor matt, i saw one for sale in here, im using a grey wool blanket with purple and pink felt squares and numbers. i should of had it finished tonight and we could of tried it out hahaha

Good morning it's an absolute gorgeous morning out there and it looks like another hot day. The Dude has gone to Gisborne for the week hopefully finish this project. Did zilch stitching this weekend as youngest grandie stayed here this week end and we did some XMas shopping instead. Kettle was boiled early I will make a fresh pot again a little later.

My goodness skippie...early up for you today then. I'm ready for that cuppa...thanks a lot. I did no stitching either. Yesterday we went out for lunch with dd and sil. It was soooonice that we have decided to do it monthly. Well, that's the plan anyway. A new owner has taken over the restaurant down the road and his food is incredible. What a lazy afternoon...but what a lovely one. Then I was too tired to do anything much so I think I might be quite busy today. Have a great one yourself.

Grizz the chook house, Blossoms house used to be my potting shed but then she flew in from goodness knows where and decided to stay she was sleeping up in the tress at night so realised she needed a home but didnt want to spend money in case she didnt stay but stay she has, we havent clipped her wings tis her choice to stay and her eggs are yummmm.

Thanks to my darling son the battery in my car is flat this morning and I had planned on going out shopping But, i will not be going anywhere just yet until it charges !!

The Dream of the Mad Quilter’s Ball

‘Twas a month before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The fabric was set by the iron with care
In hopes that some quilting time soon would be there.

My children were grown and all moved away,
Which left lots of time for their mama to play;
But then, in my dreamland, I heard a loud call,
Inviting me out to the Mad Quilter’s Ball!

two hundred quilters in a dreamHigh up above me I heard such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Into the attic I flew like a bird,
Worried about all the noises I heard.

The dust and the cobwebs were scattered about,
And a light through the crawlspace was just leaking out.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a room where some quilters were starting to cheer!

How many pins to make 58 quilts?Two hundred strong, they were poised by their lists,
Ready to cut, sew, and quilt up their gifts.
They’d saved me a spot, I went straight to my chair,
And soon many voices were filling the air!

“Now, Singer! now, Brother! now, Janome and Elna!
On, Kenmore, Bernina, on Pfaff and Gammill!
Each machine in its place, Though we know it’s still Fall!
Just stitch away! stitch away! stitch away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
Soon up to the ceiling the threads, how they flew!
Each sewer turned out a wall hanging or two.

We cut, stitched and pressed as we all made mug rugs,
Thinking of friends who would soon give us hugs.
Mittens and bags began piling up high,
Dozens of baby quilts made us all sigh!

Our lists were still long, and our thoughts were less cheery.
We kept quilting on, but our eyelids were weary.
While stitching up aprons, some fingers got pricked,
For starting so late, all our rear ends we kicked!

“I can’t do it all,” someone cried in despair!
“I made this block wrong, I may pull out my hair!”
“Hush!” said another, “Just make something scrappy,
Your family won’t know, and will all be quite happy!”

Some stitched log cabins, and some made nine patches.
A few made some star quilts, with neat corner matches.
The quilt pile grew, but to all it was clear,
Fifty-eight quilts was a number to fear!

The thread piles rose and they started to shake.
They rolled up together and made us all quake!
Like little thread soldiers held tightly with lint,
They sorted themselves out by color and tint.

And what to our dry, tired eyes did take shape,
But a woman all clad in a thread and lint cape!
She laughed at us all as she looked through our lists,
Then she said, “Super Quilters are such optimists!”

She sprang to the roof, to us all gave a whistle,
And then flew away like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim, as she flew out of sight,
“Happy quilting to all, but don’t stay up all night.”

I have tidied but not cleaned my shed, done some housework, mowed the lawns, fiddled around in the garden and have come in for lunch. Now my shed needs a clean and then it will be all ready to mess up again. Yummmmmm...I love it! Sorry I missed out on the drinks grizz...next time!!!
