| Hi there smartgirl. You poor thing. I knew you were really busy and I had a feeling you were not feeling 100 percent. I feel as if a horse has just kicked me in the chest. That did happen to me years ago but I have not been anywhere near a horse lately. lol. Rest day tomorrow for me. All of my visiting grandchildren have now gone home. Yipee. I love having them but it is tiring at times. What am I saying it is tiring all the time. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2011-04-29 23:21:00 |
| Very sorry to hear you haven't been well, smartgirl and you have overdone it, haven't you makerealbany? grizzly4 - 2011-04-30 10:54:00 |
| I stayed up and watched the wedding untill 12.40, had both my girls home watching it with me, my eldest stayed the night , it was just like old times. We wore crowns and pearls and drank pink wine and ate nibbles, it was fun. K was in the kitchen watching the Breakers lol. We have our own wedding to get through now, managed to find a replacement venue , not as nice as the other but sill nice. suzy59nz - 2011-04-30 22:54:00 |
| Yes I had overdone it ever so slightly. Ha ha. It took me all day to clean the cottage. Why because I was a lot slower today and J had not put the lid on the Maple syrup and my pantry was invaded by ants. I had to empty everything out which included throwing out 5 boxes of cereal. They were all over the shelves, so I wiped everything including all my tin stuff and all the jars of preserves. That job took me 2 hours. I had to check inside everything but they only wanted the cereal and the maple syrup thank heavens. I still have not connected my new scanner, come printer.etc. I want to use up the new ink cartridges I bought for the old printer first. Lol. makerealbany - 2011-05-01 00:11:00 |
| Yes I loved all the pomp and ceremony and her dress was lovely and so is she. A had to record it all for M. She wanted to see a real princess not just a pretend one. 3 years old and she has such strong ideas. She just loved it so Mummy has to save that for her to show her friends. makerealbany - 2011-05-01 00:16:00 |
| Hi suzy. I bet you are looking forward to the wedding. I am sure the new venue will be great. makerealbany - 2011-05-01 00:18:00 |
| The wedding was beautiful, Kate made such a lovely bride, I watched it with Mr 19 who was never going to of course, but he enjoyed it too. She is quite amazing. I have been awake for over an hour so decided I may as well be awake. Suzy, it sounds like you had a great time. I managed to keep on knitting most of the time. I see you girls had another big quake. Are they still big for you or just another one now. I really feel for you both. Ants, dont you just hate them and they always come when you least need them. smartgirl - 2011-05-01 05:36:00 |
| That 5 yesterday was quite a bit north of CHristchurch and I didn't feel it at all. DIL said her house just rolled with it a bit so that was good. It bodes well if the next big one is north canterbury 'as predicted' that it may not have such a huge effect on poor ol' Christchurch. Not that I wish that upon the people in the smaller towns north of us either, of course. And I'm not being a pessimist but we all heard, didn't we?, that we are living in an active zone for the next 50 years! grizzly4 - 2011-05-01 10:17:00 |
| Hi smartgirl. I slept in until 9 this morning. Yah. A rang me and I had to shower and jump into the car so we could go to the beach for K 2nd birthday morning tea. Had a great time. M fell asleep in the car on the way home because she had her poor Mum up at 5 this morning. A reckons her 2 little ones are tag teaming her. Poor girl. I am having a knitting afternoon. makerealbany - 2011-05-01 13:10:00 |
| Grizzly I guess you are all trying to adapt to the doom and gloom predicted. Not!!!!!! It is really blowing up here today and a good reason to stay inside. The next thing will be gales!!!!!!! The trees are really bending over. I saw on the news the latest aboutthe miners. How dreadful for those families. Just makes it a hell of a lot worse for them. makerealbany - 2011-05-01 13:15:00 |
| THe weather looks horrendous up your way!!! I hope it's not directly affecting your homes and families. grizzly4 - 2011-05-01 18:34:00 |
| I flipped over the page of our calendar and instantly felt like we had lost 2 months of the year. I worked in the garden trimming roses and trying to save plants in pots that have had little water over the summer. A lot more to do because this would be the least I've ever done in my gardens over the summer. Took the green waste to the refuse centre and was blown away by the piles of bricks and timber etc from demloshed buildings. Huge piles despite most of the debris going elsewhere Muscles hurt this afternoon and turned very chilly so worked on my cross-stitch for the first time in ages. grizzly4 - 2011-05-01 18:39:00 |
| You have been a busy girl grizzly. M only went to sleep 30 mins ago. She was a real little horror tonight and wanted mummy who was dealing with teething J. I spent the afternoon watching her building castles from blocks. She never has enough as she is building some great ones at the moment. I managed to get some more on TM today. She watched and approved the buys so consequently we also got a Thomas the tank engine and his track as well as a pirate ship. Lol. Off course I did manage to get some knitting done. It has started to rain here now so I have the candles ready just in case. I am going to make a cuppa also and fill the flask. Deepheat works wonders for my sore muscles luckily I live alone. Ho ho. What are you doing for your cross stitch? makerealbany - 2011-05-01 20:42:00 |
| Funny you should get your candles ready, I was at spotlight on the weekend and I brought a couple of glow sticks to have in case I have a power cut and I can use one to help light candles etc. They were only $4 each. My bright idea for the week. I did not go out yesterday as it was yucky but called in to the knitting party at spotlight on Saturday. There was only one lady knitting so I brought a ball of wool and some needles and sat down and knitted a bootee. We were joined by another lady who wants to start a knitting moring at BBs Chartwell so thats what we are going to do. smartgirl - 2011-05-02 06:44:00 |
| Grizzly, I am not surprized you have lost 2 months, it must have been a shock at the dump, reality setting in. You are great that you even can get out in the garden and have not lost interest. Miss B has just got interested in the blocks again and has been making monster castles etc. It must be a winter thing. She does not quite get it that the base has to be bigger that the top. Very frustrating till I built her one, now she is set. smartgirl - 2011-05-02 06:48:00 |
| It's nice to have you back, smartgirl. I'm waiting for the boys to start using the blocks here now that you have both mentioned it! Haha. I'm still working on the very first cross-stitch that I started years ago with the kittens in the garden shed, it keeps being put to one side for other projects. Cold and wet today so I was knitting and dozing for most of the day. We're off to Dunedin tomorrow, taking a easy going trip down doing the touristy thing and staying the night then coming home Wednesday. Will be a nice break, despite the weather hopefully. grizzly4 - 2011-05-02 19:23:00 |
| Hi girls. We are about 8 mins away from the Albany Mega centre and I did not know a thing about it until a reli rang from Motueka because she had seen it on the news. Then the phones rang all night. It is nice to know we have such a caring family and so many caring friends. My daughters were at work and both of them came the long way home. A had to pick up M at 3-30 so she didn't come home that way. Thank heavens she would have been there at 3. T was srill at work at the hospital in Greenlane so she had to drive miles out of her way because the harbour bridge was closed for awhile and the traffic buildup was horrendous. makerealbany - 2011-05-04 07:22:00 |
| Earthquakes and Tornadoes, whats next on the list for good old Gods own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! suzy59nz - 2011-05-04 16:57:00 |
| Thank goodness you and your family are ok!!!! We were in Dunedin without access to a computer when it came on the tv in our motel room. I worried about you all night, I can't believe you were so close. grizzly4 - 2011-05-04 18:19:00 |
| That is so nice grizzly. But remember you cannot kill a weed and I am really like a weed no matter what happens I just keep growing. Lol. Guess what? dopey me!!!! I actually drove down to the Mall today to get some nappies for little J and of course the roads were all closed and the mall as well as the Warehouse across the road was shut. I saw people in their shop uniforms all over the place so I guess I wasn't the only stupid person today. Lol. Maybe they were not contacted by their bosses ? Anyway I drove to Birkenhead to pick up my toys for the kids and I got the nappies there. I had an awful headache when I got home because of all the darn traffic and I got lost once. Duh. It is such a huge city it is so easy for me to get lost. Ha ha. makerealbany - 2011-05-04 21:24:00 |
| How did your trip to Dunedin go grizzly? Hope you had a great time. makerealbany - 2011-05-04 21:26:00 |
| They said on the news tonight most of the mall was open! grizzly4 - 2011-05-05 19:57:00 |
| Oh I am so glad you enjoyed your trip grizzly the butterfly place sounds wonderful. Maybe I might get to see it one day. I am very fond of butterflys. Always got upset when I saw them in glass cases. My mum just loves Pukekos. She has collected photos and knick nacs for years. I have about 10 pieces and I do so like the real ones. Had heaps on the farm but see lots on the way to Orewa. I will go to the Mall in the morning. K has his 3rd birthday party on Sat. I have to cook his cake tomorrow night. We are going to the train track so the kids can have rides then we are off to an Italian restaurant for lunch. Yum. Had little J for the day today and he cried every time I tried to put him down the little toad. He is so cute though. Rolling around everywhere now. He loves Paws the younger cat and our Foxy. Already he has his favourites. Lol. I have miss M over for the night so I am off to bed early. makerealbany - 2011-05-05 20:45:00 |
| Yes I love the real Pukekos as well. I drive through the wetlands everyday to and from work and they are so full of liquifaction and other nasties that the water level is very high and there are lots of birds feeding on the grass areas close to the road. I am always telling them they are getting to close but feel so sorry for them having their home infected by human yuck! grizzly4 - 2011-05-06 09:26:00 |
| Yes the wildlife would be taking a hammering as well down there. The Tuis are kicking up a hell of a noise in the mornings and evenings here. I think it is because we have a few Rosellas around and the Tuis are being territorial. It is nice to hear them though. There are a couple of kingfishers always sitting on the telegraph lines just looking and listening I guess. Lol.Had a nice day. Did some shopping but the Mall is still closed at one end and you cannot use the lifts or escalator to get to the ground level. I thought I might be able to go through Farmers but that was all closed off. I did not drive around to see if I could get in at ground level. It was raining and I couldn't be bothered. Lazy devil. Seriously though there was too much traffic and less parking spaces. makerealbany - 2011-05-06 23:50:00 |
| Had an early start this morning with B2 spending the day, his mum joining us after lunch as did my son and his family for tea. I'm exhausted now. Next week is the Bridal afternoon tea for DIL so it will be even worse by the time it's over. I wanted to do something for the friends and family that weren't going to be involved in the 'hen's night' but it seems that there is going to be a crossover and they are going on to the pub from my house. So much for that idea of polite hospitality! grizzly4 - 2011-05-07 19:06:00 |
| You have a busy week ahead grizzly!!!!!! I had a great time today. K's 2nd birthday was lovely. We all went and had a train ride. Some of us had a couple of rides lol. We had a nice meal in the Italian restaurantt and S and I chatted about Italy and our wonderful holiday what with all the Italian staff. I iced the cake at 9 this morning and we had to be there at 11. It went down well. I managed to send Mum some flowers for Mother's day before we left. Luckily I use the same florist back home on a regular basis. When I got home there was a lovely message from Mum who was delighted. She even described the pattern on the ribbon and the Baloon. Tee hee. I rang her and gave her all the details of the family day, then I wrote 2 job descriptions and a list of things that need to be done for my group and now I am off to bed. Sleep in tomorrow until 7 at lest. Yippee. makerealbany - 2011-05-08 00:06:00 |
| Happy Mothers Day girls, I hope you have a neat day. Makereal, I cant believe little K is 2. Where did those years go. Grizzly you must be exhausted, make the most of your last day. Jo smartgirl - 2011-05-08 07:08:00 |
| Happy Mother's Day, everyone!!!! I got more pukekos from the family. Heehee. Would you believe the sun is shining today so I'm in old clothes and heading for the garden for an hour or two. grizzly4 - 2011-05-08 10:50:00 |
| Yrs I had a great Mothers day and came home bulging with pressies. I hope you all had a good day as well. makerealbany - 2011-05-08 20:21:00 |
| It is good to hear from you Jo. The years appear to be flying by alright. Never enough time to do what we want to. Lol. makerealbany - 2011-05-08 20:22:00 |
| Finally had a great morning in the garden yesterday. Perfect way to finish my holiday then went out for coffee and some shopping. Back to work this morning, have decided to continue getting up earlier with I. so I get more stuff done.Yeah, yeah, and I still don't feel safe enough, feel better having my shower while he is still in the house and at least I'm dressed for whatever the world throws at us next! Haha. grizzly4 - 2011-05-09 06:20:00 |
| Wow you are up early this morning grizzly, I hope you have a great day. smartgirl - 2011-05-09 06:31:00 |
| So tired after first day back, so many post its on my desk with messages and jobs to do. And we had a shop meeting as well. But at least we have a new shop to move into soon and suzy59nz rounded up a posse of other brave committee members and got into old shop to rescue a lot of the fittings that were still in there..... suzy is my hero!!!! grizzly4 - 2011-05-09 18:54:00 |
| Well done suzy!!!!!!!! makerealbany - 2011-05-09 22:58:00 |
| This will be you at the end of the week grizzly. Absolutely knackered. I am feeling like that and the week has just begun. No that is not true. My weeks roll in for a month until my SIL is back. He is home next Wed. Whoopee. makerealbany - 2011-05-09 23:00:00 |
| I feel like that this morning for sure. We have been awake since 3am with a 5.3 waking us up with an awful fright. Thank goodness it was a bit deeper than usual otherwise we would have had some breakages this time. Poor Flurry shot under the covers to the foot of the bed and she's still very jittery. All 5 of us lay there till the alarm went off at 4.30. It's just easier being up. grizzly4 - 2011-05-10 06:19:00 |
| I was wide awake for some reason till 2 am this morning then was woken at 3am by the 5.3 shock, i just turned over and went back to sleep lol, think i was just so tired. NIce to be a hero................ :-) actually was quite fun breaking the law, so glad we didn't get cought, we didn't need you to bail us out after all Grizzly. So looking forward to the new shop. suzy59nz - 2011-05-10 18:11:00 |
| I even met some people today who weren't woken up by the eathquake at 3am!! Can't understand that at all. grizzly4 - 2011-05-10 19:07:00 |
| Going to be a long day today (again) as I have a late meeting so won't be home till 8.30. Although I'm going on a trip this morning to have a look at Pegasus township. When they first started developing this land a few years ago I. was delivering equipment etc to stabilse the ground as it is all sand and I occasionally got a trip out there in his truck. It was a phenomenal project but doesn't appeal to me to live out there. grizzly4 - 2011-05-11 06:04:00 |
| Grizzly did you get woken by the shake at just after midnight? this one was over this side of the city, i almost was going to get out of bed and run for the door frame, then it stopped, really upset my Bella. suzy59nz - 2011-05-11 22:06:00 |
| OMG you must be so sick of living on the edge all the time. The poor animals must all be wrecks as well. J is inside on my bed because it is pelting down and so darn noisy he has abandoned the lazy boy. Lol. P is still hunting for mice the little begger. I am not calling out again. That cat is not a listening cat!!!! You are an early riser grizzly. I had a nap this afternoon. I was so tired and A was at home so I just lay down for a 10 mins kip. 3 hours later I woke up. My back is not too good at the mo. Crunching and clicking like an angry beast. No darn time for knitting these last few says. Sigh!!!! Never mind things will improve. makerealbany - 2011-05-12 00:00:00 |
| No wonder you need a kip in the avo, makerealbany, look at the time you are on the computer!!! grizzly4 - 2011-05-12 06:35:00 |
| Beautiful sunny day. Just loved sitting in the sun doing some more cross stitch before work. Even had forty winks about 9am, too, heehee. Hard day at work though, I truly believe accountants go out of their way to be as difficult as possible. I'm trying to get 3 audits finished, one of which I need for AGM next week. One of their questions today was for me to breakdown the amount of reimbursements and refunds I had made over the year! I suggested as nicely as possible that she should open the cash book as well as reading the spread sheet. Honestly! And they have the nerve to send an interim account for two thirds of the total cost, well they can wait just like I am.... grizzly4 - 2011-05-12 18:58:00 |
| Yes the darn cheek of them grizzly. I do not like them either. They seem to ask the most ridiculous things at times. Ha ha. Just finished my floors and I am off to bed. Little J had his vacinations today. He had not had any before because he was so unsettled with the reflux etc. He is 7 months now and it was so awful. He had a jab in each leg. He screamed after the first one and then they wacked the other one straight in, more screaming. He just clung to A and looked over his shoulder at me as if to say How could you Nana? I had to rock him to sleep because his Mum had to go and pick up M from preschool. He slept with his little fist firmly wrapt around my teeshirt. Did not let go even when he snored. Bless him. After his nap he was his bright little self. No side effects thank heavens. makerealbany - 2011-05-13 00:51:00 |
| Poor J! His wee legs will be sore today. Stayed up a bit later than I should last night and feel a bit ragged this morning. Bridal afternoon tea is tomorrow so going to get all the wee cupcakes done this morning before work. grizzly4 - 2011-05-13 06:02:00 |
| He was pretty knarly today alright. I had a great day and am now going to sit, knit and relax. Whoppee!!!!! You will be soooooo busy tomorrow grizzly. I hope it all goes well and is not too stressful. makerealbany - 2011-05-13 22:09:00 |
| good luck with the bridal afternoon tea, should be agood day, enjoy. see you Tuesday suzy59nz - 2011-05-13 22:33:00 |
| Thank you, suzy. Not going to be as much fun now as my daughter S. was rushed to hospital at 3am yesterday morning. After lots of tests they are going to remove her gall bladder and she has been on their surgery list since teatime last night. Hasn't happened yet and she could keep being bumped off because it's public. I suggested that gets herself out today if it doesn't happen and contact her doctor Monday to organise it through Southern Cross since we all have hospital insurance. Of course to add to the drama she's upset about missing this afternoon and DIL is upset about not having one of her bridesmaids with her! I pointed out that its better happening now than 8 weeks from now, the night before the wedding!!! S. has had such a bad run with her health and we thought the hysterectomy was going to change everything and it hasn't but now it looks like she may have had this problem for a long time and they've never checked for it, blaming the endo etc all the time. She's one of the most hard working people I know and is always helping someone else - life is so unfair sometimes. grizzly4 - 2011-05-14 08:10:00 |
| Would you believe they released S. from hospital because they couldn't fit her surgery in until Tuesday at the earliest. So she made it to the afternoon tea after all. Which was great for all of us. I am so tired now though lucky the 2 boys that are staying over tonight are tired too. Early night for all, I think. grizzly4 - 2011-05-14 19:22:00 |
