Sorry to worry you coalie but I could not get to sleep last night at 4am still up but then fell asleep.

sunny here now tis nice and theres no wind.
Blossom is in her house laying an egg sooo yay she has settled in well, the door in the phone box is shut but there is no bottom window so she jumps through that. nope not making her a quilt unless its made of straw haha :)
glad the zero's arrived Dilli, i sent them in the tardis, was the last of doc who the other night till Christmas was a sad one :( and there were only 5 programmes to the episode :(

hope Skippie and Jumbo are having fun, i googled and i think Skippie and Jumbo are textile artists themselves their work is pretty amazing spose its nice to get new ideas tho.

Twi...it is quilt as you go. Each block is made and quilted separately then joined with strips. The joining strips are the caramel colour on the front and the bright colours on the back. This is my first attempt at the process so the strips don't join perfectly...something I will watch out for next time! The colours are much nicer in the flesh....thank you for your very kind comments.

coallie, the lecture was absolutely fabulous, such an inspiring Lady and her quilts are just to die for and her worksmanship was exquisite. Made lots of pics but cannot display them here due to copyright. You will have to google her website and blog. Was suppose to be only a 2 hr lecture from 2 till 4 pm but it was 530 before we went home. An afternoon well spend.

We were truly spoilt by Rosalie. She gave the most informative talk...and as skippie said, her quilts were the most beautiful things I have ever seen in real life. The colours and designs...and the stories of how they came about were so interesting. One of them was quite confronting. It turned out that the woman that had inspired her to make it was killed in a road accident. I found it quite emotional. She is a talented woman for sure...and nearly all of her inspiration comes from nature...light....line and shapes. She loves to take photos and then look at the negative spaces. Most enlightening. And what's more, we were allowed to photograph them, touch them and help pack them away. An afternoon to remember forever...

Morning all I been up since blardy 6.15.
Its my baby boy's birthday today he is 12 !!
Just having a cuppa tea so jug is on but not breakfast as yet.

I was making the bed this morning and got the notion that we could do with a new duvet cover. I don't like making the effort to go out but surprised myself by going there and then. I have a beautiful new duvet, bath mat, sheets, iron and salt and pepper mills. Should have stayed home?

I felt it too! Quite gentle but definitely a quake.
No coalie...skippie is innocent this time. Briscoes rocks! The duvet cover is 100% cotton so won't get those annoying snags. Muttley came home for lunch with a doughnut for me...like I need it! But gee it was good...

I have survived another round of school holidays - wa hoo!! I celebrated by doing a good lot of housework this morning.

I havent made the earthquake quilt yet coalie. The last few months i have mainly knitted and now have picked up my cross stitch.

I love the dog you were babysitting twi:o) My dog has just been to the groomers this morning and looks very handsome despite the fluoro orange bow on his head heheheehhe!

Great quilt jumbo, quilt as you go certainly looks like an easier option than trying to drag a huge quilt through the machine.

Evening all, thank you for the birthday wishes he had a lovely fun filled day. He was excited to see me at morning tea and all the kids had piece of cake. I had already organised it with the teacher on the last day of the term so all was ok. The teacher thought it was a lovely idea too.
We had fish n chips for tea, was really nice for a change, no cooking !!
Havent done alot this arvo.
Holly that was a good score, jumbo you did well too with your shopping.
Glad you survived the holidays wee i bet your house was very quiet as was mine today.
