please stay, we do make quilts really, some of us are just learning and we ask each other questions, we always put pic's up of what we are making to encourage each other or so we can tell each other whats wrong with it :)
i see what you mean tho ;( tis quite long.

#1 daughter suggested on my next raggie i do lines, maybe 1/2 inch wide instead of crosses. That will be a nice change, i have seen it in google. She saw it on a baby blanket and said it looked good :)

Didnt save pic sorry. you could do 1 inch lines, just depends on size of squares and what looks right.

Girls are good thanks, they have been busy, pink one #3 daughter getting nice prezzies sent from bf in London.
#2 daughter purple one, going to Parachute music festival, the end of this month she always goes. Then shes home for 1 day and is going to Ause for 2 weeks. Shes going to both things with a really neat bunch of friends so no worries i know shes safe.

ok back to sewing now, lines instead of crosses would be nice, coalrange when you do your raggies how big are you squares??i do 4 and a half inches i think that is to small !!i still have a cot quilt cut out that i havent sewn yet

twilight23 - 2010-01-07 20:54:00
3520

Twilight i have done them 8", 7 & 1/2" but i prefer 6 & 1/2"

Yeah 4 & 1/2 is tiny i think thats what i did my mums one in and it wasnt nice at all, it didnt seem soft and cuddly, i gave it to her told her i didnt like it and made her another one hehe she liked them both.

you could use the squares up in a disapearing 9 patch

Thanks Coalrange, yes I suppose I am a bit mad but it sure helps. Haven't been on have been busy with domestic stuff, had to take dog to the vet a lump appeared on her snout over the holidays but vet says nothing serious thank goodness. Hope to finally quilt a quilt I have had sandwiched since before Christmas. Its an American quilt for a batchelor friend who is moving into a new house in February. Pattern is Contrary Wife - and he hasn't got one - don't think I will tell him what the pattern is called. Will post pic when finished hopefully within the next 10 days by the time I get the binding on.

hehe good on you Franny for taking it in the way it was intended, i read somewhere maybe it was in here that we arent really mad or crazy but because we are all quite creative in these threads we have imaginative minds haha soooooo not mad not crazy just imaginative which gives the same impression as the latter anyway haha lol

It will be a memory one to celebrate the wonderful time I spent at my nanas knee listening and learning. We have just had the most awful clap of thunder over head which zapped along the floor. Shudders yuck.

But I will take it one stepp at a time. I am going to buy the fabric in a fortnights time. I thought I would put the pictures on a backing then batton around them. Does this ound ok. I havnt decieded what colour backing yet. I think that would be a good idea to photograph it as you can tell me where I have gone wrong. lol.

Help someone please do you have them all the same size or batting and backing a bit bigger ???? HELP

Yep kitty knew where to come for cuddles. LOL it shares it affections around the neighbourhood.
