I am here, have just finished a quilt that had to be done to go into the Exhibition, no not mine I still have to do that one.
Judy, I always have used an office chair for my sewing, I also have an sewezy table which is great as that lowers the machine and stops back aches too.
Coallie, just as well it's a pick up only with that auctions, which would have been rather tempting otherwise.
Nearly bedtime, is now raining here too and it's getting cold. Nite nite.;

grrrrrr,,,,,,,,,
got the machines out today that I bought as spares (one I bought cause it had the manual with it - older model)
The older one goes like a dream just needed a good clean and oiling.
the other one didnt go at all. darn it would have been fabo. No power and could not get the foot lever (stitching) to go down to sew.
Have just emailed the seller. - they wont be happy either.
Go figure eh the 20.00 machine goes and the 100 one doesnt.
Well at least I can still sew again eh. Untill I can afford to get my good one fixed.
Hope I can get a refund though.
Ok me rrr finished for the day.
Jugs on for a coffee.

Afternoon all, grotty windy day here.
Im contemplating how to fix my sons school pants, they have ripped at both knees as they do, they are like a silky fabric with a stupid lining, i was going to iron on some mending patch and try and stitch it by hand to make it stay there, will the iron melt the pants ?? i would use a towel or something to put under iron. I want to mend them as they were only brought at the start of winter and aprt from the holes there is heaps of wear left in them yet..
Happy bithday to carole

Evening all, rather wet here as it has rained all day.
Shell. open the side seams from the trouser legs and stitch a patch from seam to seam on the inside as well as the outside of the legs to give it some thickness and strength, then stitch up the side seams again. That would also solve the problem not having to iron the fabric. Hope this helps if you haven't done it already.

coalie, that dessert was beautiful, might have to come back for seconds later. That is if there is any left!!!!! ;-)

thanks for the idea skippie but i just had a look at the pant legs and I cant unpick them as they have a stupid mesh lining in them, I would have to get rid of the lining

Good morning all. What's on the board for today? For me I don't know, maybe play time on the sewing machine. Have found a nice quilt pattern that lends itself to five panels of machine embroidery. Just might be what I need to do.

shell it may be easier to re sew the lining and slipery outer by using some narrow binding tape on the seam to give the needle grip.. If youd like some ill send you some have plenty here.
