thanks for cuppas this morning, Daisy Bee and her Mum were here.
i was talking to a lovely lady and she said that crushed ice would be the same as snow to do the snow dyeing, may try it.

Fun day here.......NOT......
Ive spent all morning and a bit of the afternoon emptying a bucket !!
L had really bad anxiety this morning, i think the combination of starting a new school and getting a taxi ride to school also was too much for him. Hopefully he will be ok to start tomorrow...I need a cuppa tea

Hugs to you Shell. Is L's school very far away from home? Maybe if L is well enough you could take him to school for the rest of the week with him just coming home in the taxi? We did this with Mr 12 when he frist started travelling by taxi to school.

Morning all, boy it turned out to be a very long day, and part evening, i think L might have had a bug as hes never been that sick before.
Thanks for all the hugs i needed them after i had a good cry !

Wee - L's new school is about 4 mins in the car, he was up and ready for breakfast and excited to to be going in the taxi. He went off fine and all smiles, once hes had a few rides i think he should be ok. He shares with another boy going to the same room as him.

Yes Coalie he had a great day but as soon as the taxi pulled up and he saw me he burst into tears but he is knackered from last nite so he will have early tea and bed tonight..
Skippie a question for you - to do hand quilting do i have to use a specific/special needle ?? I have finally got my batting and backing for my hand appliqued quilt and want to get it done so i can hang on wall..

I can answer that - there are these tiny needles called "betweens". They are short so that you can manipulate them to make small, short stitches. It probably pays to watch a tutorial on You Tube to help you. My first effort started in the centre of my quilt with gathering sort of stitches but by the time I had completed the full quilt I had managed to make the stitches all really small. You'll need a quilting hoop (make sure it's sturdy and strong - not a flimsy embroidery hoop)

hi everyone :) havent been on here much lately, weve had some really cold weather and now rain for the last 3 days, havent done any sewing
im off to cairns tomorrow for 2 weeks with my mum,they have lots of markets there and hope to find some fabric shops :) the apartment were we are staying has 3 swimming pools my sister insisted i borrow her togs for a swim or paddle mmm yeah right LOL hahahah
so will see you in 2 weeks :)

Thanks judy, what is the difference between a quilting hoop and an embroidery hoop ??.. i have quite big bamboo embroidery hoop, would that not be strong enough ?

thanks coalrange for my choccy fish last week. Went down a treat. had the colds and other bugs going about and now Ive a tummyache. Not had one of those for years, but daughter had the bug in her house! So Im going to applique stitch my blocks for my quilt today and do a bit of baby knitting for charity. ave a great day whatever you all are doing.

Been to fabric shop "needed" rose fabric, i had a little but not enough, whew they had 1 m 10 left whew ! anyways im doing the 'pierrette' quilt and its having red roses, a broken heart, harlequin fabric and black fabric...well its all in my head and now ive got to get the quilt to look like the pic in my head lol haha

I create handbags out of ties & my man wants to know what he should do with them if I should happen to die.
I have to many to count now but for some reason if I'm in an op shop I see some I just can't leave there as I know somewhere in my collection it will be the one I need to go with the other 3 or 4
So that can't be to many can it.

What you'll need to do is google or youtube 'quilt hoop' and see what I mean. I have one - it's large and when I needed to do something small I used an embroider's hoope and it's strength was not that good. Hope this helps.

Camonz, I emphasise with your obsession and with your man's concerns. I can only put you in touch with my wife's councillor, although I have to say she is full of rhetoric but the outcomes have not been good. But she's cheap. Her name shows up here as "Skippie 1".
