You have been busy grizzly. I spent 3 hours yesterday sorting knitting patterns in my filing cabinet. Now that I have shredded all the Volunteer documents for my compost, I have heaps more room. So glad to get rid of a few more boxes. Just got 2 to go as far as patterns go. Today I have been cutting tiles for my latest Mosaic frame. Having a break as I cut myself 3 times. Drat. I cannot wear gloves as I can't feel what I am doing. I just could not make up my mind about what to make so have 5 things prepared. Lol. Cutting takes the longest part. The rain has been good for the garden. I just dash out pick whatever is ripe or nearly ripe and come back in. I have found tiles I cannot even remember buying. Maybe the fairies left them for me. Ha ha. Going to stay the night at the beach as I am babysitting tomorrow so need to get on and get the tiles cut so I can start when I get back.

I have today off too!! Yippee. We decided not to open as our contributing schools don't open till tomorrow and I have done all my prep by working long hours last week. I had so much fun yesterday, I was longing for it not too end and lo and behold the boss txts to stay home today as well! I really need to get in and weed the glasshouse so hopefully it's cool enough this morning.

Mosaic craft sounds like dangerous work! I did all that I set out to do yesterday including the glasshouse. I'm very proud of myself! Heehee. Back to work today though, I'm organising a game of Bingo for the Women's Group so at least it's a gentle start to my working week. I sold two of my blankets at the shop on Monday and now one has been returned as it's a bit bigger! The wool was thicker and more expensive so I charged $5 more. The lady wants the excess removed and a refund of $5!!!!! The colour pattern is different to the other one as well so they are never going to look the same! #@%*!

Tried to post last night but kept getting a system fault from TM. That woman must be blind grizzly. Some people are you know lol. What a bonus to have your day off yesterday. I had a lovely day with K. I missed him when he was away. He is a real little boy now. "Nana red car, Nana yellow car, etc" So cute. Got some more mosaicing done last night. Yep it can be dangerous for idiots like myself. Tee Hee. I am getting in the grove again though.

Kids at the beach so had a great day mosaicing. Just realized what the time is!!!!!!! Need to eat. Lol. Taking K up to the other beach tomorrow and have to be up at 5 to let the dogs out for a run, feed them, feed the cats and then be in Orewa before 6.30 so my daughter can go to work. Phew Busy time. Friday is a relaxing day so I will rest then Ho ho. Very muggy here and bugs flying around all over the darn place. Cool outside though. Bit of a nice breeze.

When all these nasty things stop!!! THose poor people in Queensland waiting for daylight to see what they are up against.

I know it is so awful. My grandkids who lived in Mackay have been emailing all their mates who are ok thank heavens.

Thank goodness, makerealbany.

Well it is hot here but a lovely breeze. I have just finished cleaning up the cottage. I am off to visit my mates this arvo so have a really relaxing day ahead. Got a email from the Library again about overdue books which I had already returned. I always make a note because they make so many mistakes. Went in there 2 weeks ago and made them search the shelves. Voila there they were. Grrrrr. So I just rang up and what do you know same story. What happens is they are marking the books off someone goes in and they get sidetracked. I have been cleaning out gardens at night. There has been a lot of growth lately. Had an awesome time yesterday at Snells Beach. The kids have a lovely house they have rented 2 mins from the beach. The lifestyle up there is one I could get used to. Lol.

Sounds like a lovely day. Things have been a bit stressful round here the last couple of days but I won't bore you with the details. Here's hoping things come right over the weekend. Looking forward to finishing some projects i.e Only have about 20 pages left in the book I'm reading, end of month cheques for the shop, fix that #*@% blanket, and possibly finish the current section of cross stitch I'm working on. Oh, and then there's the family coming over tomorrow and I's work BBQ on Sunday. Mmmmm.... maybe I'm a bit hopeful.

Too hell with that blanket grizzly. Darn cheek of the woman. I am knitting tonight. I have spent another small fortune on mosaic tiles on TM. Going to start glueing another project tomorrow. I like to grout several things at once because it is a messy job. Drizzly here and a little bit cooler now. Glad I was not in Gisbourne today.

makerealbany - 2011-02-04 20:31:00
3462

what a cheek, I would have told her where to go. you are too nice grizzly. non knitters have no idea the work that goes into a garment etc. I have had my head down and bum up with orders since the beginning of January. I dont know what is going on but I am not complaining. But it cuts down on my social time haha. I am looking forward to seeing you Makereal.

Suzy59nz gave me the same message about the blanket, however I did pull it back last night to alter the size and redo the border. Anything for a peaceful life, thats me...... I always give in and avoid the conflict. Hence my stressful week, I decided not to give in for a change. Oh boy.....

grizzly4 - 2011-02-05 09:06:00
3464

Hi smartgirl. Yes I am looking forward to seeing you too. You have been busy girl. I don't know how you can knit in the heat. I have to have a fan on and be sitting right in front of it before I can knit. Knitted last night but was mosaicing tonight. Mind you I did not get in until 10. Mowed the lawns after tea and then went to have a cuppa with my lovely neighbours. I feel quite relaxed now so I am off to bed soon.

makerealbany - 2011-02-06 01:10:00
3465

Grizzly you have to pick and choose your battles. That blanket was a No No No. Who knows the darn woman may come and buy something else and then want that altered. If you see her coming again. Run!!!! You are just too nice girl.

3466

We are at opposite end of the day makereal, I have been awake since 4 so decided to get up. I didnt go to bed till midnight. I will probably have to have a nana nap later, ha ha. I went to the pool late yesterday afternoon and it was so refreshing after such a hot day. I think I felt the heat more yesterday than any other days. I can knit in the heat but I do have a fan right on me. Have a great day girls.

smartgirl - 2011-02-06 05:37:00
3467

Oooooh, Smartgirl love that cable jacket! What a pity I have no babies to fit it anymore. Sigh. If you start clearing out your patterns again in the future, remember me for that one, won't you? Very effective. You have been very busy, I picture you sitting up all hours like Makerealbany!

grizzly4 - 2011-02-06 08:27:00
3468

Well another hot day. I got up early sorted the animals, then barked a garden. Sounds like I am one of the pack. lol. I did the washing as I changed my linen and I am showering so much and changing my darn clothes. I sprayed the weeds, cleaned out the canna lillies, washed down my shed, emptied and cleaned M's swimming pool out( that took a lot of bucketing. I hate syphoning), racked down the hill pathway which was full of leaves, bits of branches, etc. Came in had some lunch at 3 then had a 1 hour Nana nap. Ho ho. I got all the recycling stuff and bins out for collection tomorrow had a salad and then start mosaicing again. I have my fan going flat out.

3469

Oops I mean raked thank heavens we do not have the spelling trader on here. Lol. Off for more bloods in the morning. It comes around so darn quick. At lest I don't have to fast for these.Cool to hearfrom you smartgirl. Are you free Tuesday week for brunch or lunch?

makerealbany - 2011-02-06 22:49:00
3470

What a list of jobs done, makerealbany!!!! I'm pleased to say that I finished the blanket, finished my book, did the end of month cheques for the shop, as well as the usual house work and some tidying up out side. BBQ yesterday was very pleasant if a trifle warm at 35 degrees. No shade outside at the house we were at unfortunately so everyone inside with the fam going. A shame really as they had a huge walnut tree till recently, would have been perfect.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-07 07:37:00
3471

My gosh, it is so busy at work at present but I can't seem to finish the task I start because of new registrations to do or parents coming in or my boss needing me to do something else urgently! I think I've started the same things over and over again and they are still not done. I bit frustrating.
I. picks up his new motorbike today (hence the stress last week). We always have a difference in opinion when it comes to buying expensive things, I want the money in the bank but he loves his toys. Sigh. 30 years and nothing has changed.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-08 08:20:00
3472

Yes it is darn frustrating when you start things and people interupt. Men and their toys aye. My SILs and Sons are like that. They are all the same grizzly. I sent a very terse email to my NPO to say I am on an extended break and I am not available for any meetings or anything else. Think they got the message as I have not had a phonecall, email or letter. Ha ha, Finally they get it. I feel so stress free. I should have done it years ago. So now that I have extra time I can craft away to my hearts content and no more volunteering. Kids come home tomorrow. I finished glueing another glass bowl last night so I have to projects to grout. Cool. Tidied up all my toolboxes this morning and found stuff I had been looking for. Duh. Having a relaxing day today yippee.

That sounds like a great day! I forgot to take in the bootees and wee sox that I had made over the past week for the shop! Oh well, It will look as if I've been extra busy this week.

What colour and brand is it grizzly?

makerealbany - 2011-02-09 09:39:00

Hi jenner. I will have a look thanks for info.

Well had a productive day. Thought I would wash the highchair cover but the sponge padding inside rolled up. Had to unpick the seams, remove all the padding on the seat and restitch it. Looks a lot better though and a folded hand towel on the plastic is a lot nicer. The sponge had disintergrated. Luckily I pulled it apart outside. Knitted some baby sox and then read a book.

makerealbany - 2011-02-09 21:50:00

My yesterday included going to the dentist for a $350 rebuild rather than the $1200 crown alternative, picking up another ball of wool to finish the blanket (which I did last night), and then spending another hectic day at work. Considering I was all up to date when I left before Christmas, goodness only knows where it's all coming from!

grizzly4 - 2011-02-10 08:40:00
3480

That rebuild is a less expensive alternative grizzly. M is having a sleep over tonight. I did a bit of knitting tonight but am bushed so it is an early night for me.

makerealbany - 2011-02-10 22:30:00
3481

I am really tired, too, this week. Not sure why, really. Having all sorts of fun with my computer. NOT!! It is really slow on TM, so I get too frustrated to browse for long although I bought some lovely patterns yesterday. And I replied to Smartgirl's email but after a long search found it went to you, makerealbany! You must have had a laugh at my use of technology. Haha.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-11 09:10:00
3482

You are really tired than you thought grizzly, I have just replied to your email and it will give you a laugh as it was for Makereal. I was very confused for a bit but then the penny dropped, and yes he was a real cutie. Have just come home from the pool and feel really refreshed for the moment.

smartgirl - 2011-02-11 10:04:00
3483

Yep I had a good laugh girls over the email. Thought I was going loopy for awhile. K just loved all the flowers and wherever he saw them off he went. Mind you as my girl said that boy is not silly he knows what smells nice and what does not. Lol. Some parts of India were smoggy and smelly. In fact in some places it was hard for J to breathe.

makerealbany - 2011-02-11 23:52:00

I'm definitely going nuts.....

NOt going well with finishing a hooded jacket for the shop on Monday. Haven't been well since Friday night when I had a milkshake for tea!

3486

I hope you are feeling a bit better now grizzly. There is nothing worse especially when it is so hot and muggy. My miss 14 has been picked in the Margaret Foster elite training squad so we are over the moon with her.

smartgirl - 2011-02-13 13:04:00
3487

Hope you are feeling better today grizzly. We all went to my son,s for a birthday lunch today he was 44. Yep we are a aging. Lol. Had a lovely time. Got home and a couple of hours later my youngest son's partner our lovely S rang and told me they were in a 5 car pile up at Spaghetti Junction on their way to tale my grandson back to Hamilton. They are okay but the car in front of them ran into the car in front of him and spun his car around and that car hit theirs. They have got sore backs though. I told them to get them checked if they were still sore tomorrow. Whiplash can give you hell. Anyway 2 hours later they were back home again. S works for an Insurance Co so she has to get a Courtesy Car tomorrow and J has to fly home. I said I could take him after I pick his cousin up at the airport but his mother insisted he has to do half a day at school. I am miffed at her. By the time he flies there and gets to school he will only be there for 2 hours. When it suits her she keeps him out of school and this was an emergency.!!!!! Never mind. What goes around etc.

makerealbany - 2011-02-13 22:37:00
3488

Congrats on that smartgirl. How neat!!!! Must be all that practice aye? I will ring you tomorrow and will see you Tuesday morning.

makerealbany - 2011-02-13 22:39:00
3489

You must be very proud, smartgirl! Hearing about the accident must have given you a fright, makerealbany! Thanks to both of you for your well wishes. I am much better today. It must have been a virus 'cos 3 of us at work got it over the weelkend. I thought I had just reacted to to the milkshake, otherwise wouldn't have worked with susy59nz yesterday morning. Sorry, Sue. I took in lots of knitting from the past 2 weeks though which felt very productive but you should see suzy59nz's latest creations. Absolutely amazing and they are selling almost daily at present. Beautiful work!

Off to see the floral displays in the Square this morning. It's part of the Flower Festival in ChCh. I haven't actually been in the inner city since the Boxing Day fiasco at the casino so feeling a little nervous. I always check Quake websites in the morning out of sheer habit and the number per day is creeping up again.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-16 08:28:00
3491

Thanks for your nice word Grizzly, i am so enthused at the moment , want to keep knitting as much as possible, pitty work gets in the way lol. i am knitting a lovely doll at the moment, she should be finished my Monday ,i hope ,but no time for another Smurf.
Good day out on Monday, sunshine, good company and No shakes.

suzy59nz - 2011-02-17 18:09:00
3492

Yeah i was extremely grateful that we didn't feel any shakes! I had to take a couple of audits up to the 2nd floor of a building yesterday and had to use the lift. Pretty nervous I have to say and nearly ran down the stairs to get out after ward. I have a meeting on the 5th floor of a building right in the inner city on Tuesday morning which I'm trying not to think about.....
Had B5 and L3 stay over on Wednesday night 'cos their parents went to Nitrus Circus. I had forgotten how busy mornings can be, getting other people organised for their day as well as myself! Haha.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-18 09:04:00
3493

Back home again. I had a lovely lunch with smartgirl. Not enough time to chat though. We will make up for it next time. It was nice to see you again smartgirl. I had a really nice time with Mum and my sister. We spent a day shopping and had a scrumptious meal out then shopped some more. Lol. We had to rest up the next day. I dropped Mum off at my other sister's in Hamilton on my way home. Mum loves spotlight and all the craft things were another 50 percent off the lowest price.

makerealbany - 2011-02-18 20:46:00
3494

Smartgirl I got more of those glass paints in Rotorua and some fab foil as well that was reduced from $15 a box to $2.50. I had a ball and so did Mum. My sis bought heaps of curtaining material so the boot was packed. Ha ha. Gosh it was so nice not having to run off to meetings, etc, I really enjoyed myself.

makerealbany - 2011-02-18 20:49:00
3495

Sounds like you had a great time! Is anyone else having problems on TM? I'm having lots of delays in scrolling down and when I try to open something. It's been like this for the last week or so and it's a real pain! Not having the same problem anywhere else other than TM.

grizzly4 - 2011-02-19 09:51:00
3496

Not been having any problem here.

Mmmmmm.... once again technology is not straight forward! I have decided that when you are not happy about something and someone asks you what is wrong, it is absolutely pointless telling them especially if it involves something they did or said. They continue to punish you by not talking to you ALL WEEKEND!!!!!

grizzly4 - 2011-02-20 08:50:00
3498

Good grief, just one of those days! Went to take L3 home after his stay over and couldn't find my keys anywhere!!!!! B2 was here yesterday and I had already taken I's cellphone off him and my son's car keys. After turning the house inside out and frantic calls to both son and daughter the keys were found in DIL's bag. Thank goodness and she's so embarrassed but I'm sure she didn't put them there, it was the job of little fingers, for sure. But talk about panic, we even up ended the rubbish bins....after all we are talking about all my work keys, the shop keys, and my car key and the house and garage keys!!!
