Happy Birthday Holly and also "too much".
Lovely quilt B as always. I been sitting on my butt doing nothing but crocheting, finished my granny rug and now my son has taken over that so i have started a new one.
My son and I took our little dog for a walk this morning and L hit the ice on his scooter and came off, very lucky he just hurt his butt. Have to be very careful on the footpaths.
Whats for tea ??

Just added the border to the Mystery quilt & it will now be put away until I can find the right backing for it. So here's your peek until sometime in the near future when it will be finished.

Happy birthday HollyJ and happy birthday too much!
Another bleak cold day here and I have a hubby and 2 kids with the sniffles and coughs. No plans for the holidays except to survive them lol! Missy's other ratty girl crossed the rainbow bridge suddenly last Thursday and the house isn't quite right with out any twitchy nosed friends.
Happy crafting everyone, anyone got any project photos to share?

Happy Birthday Holly, hope you have had a wonderful day. Not long till you reach 35,000 2 much, that will be a celebration.
BHS that quilt is amazing, love also the one for your grandson. How do you do it?
I am still plodding along on hexies, finished my little raggie quilt but it is purely decroative with buttons and laces.
Hope everyone is surviving the cold

joy4 - 2012-07-02 18:09:00
34813

thanks joy, I think so too. I never thought that I would ever make a quilt like the mystery one, so just be patient it has taken a long time to get to this stage.

34814

be that quilt is awesome. Really love it. Well done
Have chocolate here and coke zero for the party and straws.

34815

B that quilt is just gorgeous, while you are waiting to find the right backing you might have to give it a thought how you would like to quilt it. Doodle things down on a piece of paper as it's the most difficult part of finishing a quilt, what to stitch it with.
Happy Birthday to 2 Much, Thank you coallie for starting it, I would never have got to know you all if it wasn't for this thread.

skippie, it is funny you saying that I should think about how to quilt it as that was the conversation I had with another quilter that is up to the same stage as me & neither of us have any idea what to do. She will probably be sending it to the longarm quilting lady. I will be doing it myself & it will have to be machine done as hand can't hold a needle for too long. I am open to ideas as I have never done anything like this before & I usually go back to stippling.

bhs47 - 2012-07-02 21:47:00
34819

dilli if you are drinking that zero coke again then I will pass on sharing with you, but I just might pop a cork on the finest that I can find in the wine cellar. I'll be back in a moment while I see what I can find!

bhs47 - 2012-07-02 21:50:00
34820

ok I'm back but it looks like the girls have all been in the cellar before me & have opened just about every bottle of champers. Their heads will be a tad sore in the mornin'. http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/26/222534126_full.jp

skippie1 - 2012-07-02 23:28:00

B re your quilt. The shop where you got the Mystery quilt from I would ask them first for suggestions. Look at your quilt, maybe a feathers for the outer border, another feather for the lighter path that goes around the centre block a bigger triangle to fill the four corners. The centre a block on point.
You can go to a site where we buy the machine patterns from and look for ideas there. The Site is from Anne Bright, the site is slow with loading and searching but there are some lovely patterns. You will see that they are in groups of blocks, borders etc.

Stashes - are a VERY important part of a satisfying life. And a safeguard against hard times that could be coming round the corner. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that's enough. Let what you can afford be your limit.

andale2 - 2012-07-04 09:45:00
