morning everyone :)
tis a grotty day here lots of sewing for me today have finished 2 quilts and have 2 more to go made the quilt tops a while ago but never finshed them, wont start anything eles till these are done
someone asked the differance between wincyette and flannette,imo flannette is just the new name for wincyette, from memory i think that flannette is thicker better quality
had 4 cubic meters of firewood delieved yesterday so that will keep the kids busy over the week putting it all in the wood shed :)
Angel has made a wonderfull recovery his pads have all healed up :)

Morning all, I also slept till 9 o'clock this morning, thanks for the brekkie, love bacon and eggs, hmmm smell the coffee. Have to pick up grandie at 11 am and number two was great and read her book in bed till I got up.
Hope to get some sewing done today.
Twi, great news that angel's paws have healed. You have a major job finishing quilts, but it's a real buzz when you look at them all done, just keep going you will get there.

Hurray for Angel! My kitty's paw seems to making a surprise recovery too - in the last week it's gone down heaps, there's no limping and he's started to get the younger cat back for all the surprise attacks he's endured while he's been poorly. Is great to see!

Unfortunately, he's not as cuddly as he was when he was poorly (pawly?!) - if he's sad or sore he's like a limpet and I get loads of cuddles. Now he's gone all independent again. Sigh.

No, that's the next step - I hadn't had him vaccinated for FIV due to a long-winded microchip fiasco. I reallyreally hope that he doesn't have it, but we'll just have to find out. He's never been a fighter, but that's no guarantee!

when you get him tested and he is positive he wont need the vaccination
now that angel is better hes gone back to being top cat again lol, he dosent fight with the other cats just growls them to keep them in their place, there isnt anything really specail you have to do for the cats that fiv just make sure they are inside 24/7, they also say to feed raw meat but angel doesnt like it so havent changed his diet

T suggested i tea bag dye some hearts i made today, they are textured with ferns etc. they look good with the dye its mostly in the indents.
have run out of clay sooo will cut fabric again now.

Hi all, I have been busy today. finished the big Kaffe Fasset quilt and also did a children's quilt from Dr Suess, The Cat in the Hat.
Also eldest grandie stressing with her homework, she had to use Windows making pies and graphs from her research and I am really not up to date with Windows. But between us it got done.
Coallie show us your tea dyed hearts,
Great to hear that all the cats are having good health at the mo, is always a worry when the furrie family members are not well.
Having a coffee at the mo, anyone else like one, the kettle is still hot.

did a we bit of sewing this morning then went with grandie to buy her shoes. Do not like the weekend bus timetimetables one bus every hour so a lot of time wasted waititng for buses.

Hi girls, thanks for all the coffee and baking is so yummy. Have just got a flyer from Spotlight, sale is starting on Wednesday, selected quilting fabrics down to 6,8 and 10 $ per meter, of course other stuff as well.
Dilli, some really lovely bright waterproof stuff that would really nice on the outside of your nappies that you make, with towelling on the inside would look great.

im making hearts out of air drying clay, just to hang around the house, they have patterns of leaves and twigs and ferns and buttons etc rolling pinned into them some are tea dyed some coffee and some i painted dark green that looked yuk so have sanded them to a distressed look and coffee dyed them. lots of fun and a nice change but have run out of clay so am cutting fabric squares again now.

Its flamin cold here tonite but then me is tired so I feel the cold when me is tired.
Managed to get the red velcro lots done on the nappis (36)today so that was an extra bonus. Start the yellow ones tomorra the bias binding bits then the velcro. Its so much easier....... well more motifating if I do 30 or so of each colour then me says the red today and tomora then the yellows. So I plod on till the reds etc are done for that day. whereas if it was all the one colour me would stop when I felt sick of it.

Been to library & found some new books on quilting added to their collection. Had to be the first to take them out & sample them. One is 'Simple Stained glass Quilts' love the look of lead lighing so might have to give one a go as I already have a large roll of the leading tape bought years ago to do some blocks. Picked up another one on Hand-dyed quilts, as I want to see what I can do with the blocks I got from Joy plus the bakits that I am collecting. Freezing cold here, must be snowing down south.

ooh B a leadlighting quilt will be nice, i did real leadlighting for a while ( sure ive mentioned this before lol ) i made a few lightshades that are hanging in the house, a lamp a window and vases and boxes. Still have all the stuff to do it with, kids make things sometimes.
the batik will be lovely, cant wait for pics :)
