Fell off the pine logs!!!! Chopped down 2m trees!!!!! Wow , makerealbany you are certainly setting the bar high for the rest of us!It was a lot cooler yesterday but I think did even less. Went shopping with I. for awhile as he needed (?) a new cellphone (I can hear suzy59nz, already!). I said to him yesterday he gets all these great new toys and all I get for large amounts of spending is bits of my body removed (and I don't mean surplus weight I could afford to lose, either). Haha. I am really not a great shopper unless I know exactly what I want and know where I can find it, like the wee cabinet earlier this week. I am on my own today and it's raining so a great day to settle down to some bookwork for the shop. I have the boys tomorrow and planning a trip to Chipmunks, I think. And then a lunch date with my daughter on FRiday.

Rain grizzly how wonderful!!!!! We could do with some. Had a good day today with A and the kids. My son and DIL came over tonight for tea with their teenagers. M wanted Pizza and as it is her Birthday we obliged. HA HA. Very casual and relaxed. Plus big bonus her cousin kept her occupied for ages outside. I had to spray my tomatoes as they had darn aphids on them. I will have M in the morning because A is taking J to the Chiropracter and then they are visiting in the afternoon so I can go into the garden again. Yeepee!!!!

Early start this morning as I had to pick the boys up a 8. Still drizzling today but supposed rto clear soon. I agree the garden is loving it. Will take the boys to Chipmunks for a while the hopefully they will settle so I can get some weeding done.

Well the drizzle did not last long. Darn it. Received some more Canna lillies I purchased on TM . I was delighted with them. Did not get around to planting them yet but have them all sitting in buckets of water. J was taken to an Osteopath not a chiropracter. He has pushed his little ribs up because he arches his back when he is in pain. Was very unsettled after his treatment but he will come right. Not sure at this stage how many visits he will need. Was grinning and talking away to me tonight one would not know what the little darling goes through if you were unaware. Spent some time in the garden this evening feeding the vege plants. It was lovely and cool. How did chipmunks go grizzly?

Evening girls, I have been very slack lately. We had a great Christmas etc. It was lovely having my girl and family over, but of course I did not see enough of them. A mum never does of course. H turns 5 on the 10th and she is having a party on the 9th. She is the first birthday of the year. I have been reading your posts and see that you both have been busy. How are the quakes going grizzly. Makereal, I know how hard it is with wee J but there is light at the end of the tunnel, its just the tunnel is so very long.

smartgirl - 2011-01-07 00:02:00

The quakes are still going, thanks for asking, smartgirl. Since Boxing Day I can't shift the thought from my head that there is worse to come yet. I hate that feeling of dread when I close the drapes at night wonderiung what the night will bring. I feel fearful all the time which is why when I get an amazing day like yesterday with the boys I am so grateful. They were so good and ran around non-stop for over 2 hours at Chipmunks. The set up there is so much better than I remembered from taking my kids years ago. Our drizzle dried up too so got to potter around with a bit of weeding before tea. A very pleasant day, all up. Today I am going to lunch with my daughter at the Palms. I'm grateful she has some viewings over that way or I would have to go to Riccarton and that Mall is just too big to be pleasant.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-07 08:12:00
3407

Hi smartgirl. So good to hear from you. Yes we know it will get better with little J but it is wearing my poor girl out. Miss M needs more attention as she misses out on time with her Mum. She had a lovely playdate with the neighbours and then was a right little monkey for her Mum in the afternoon. I go out on Friday afternoons. It is my me time no matter what. Boy I really look forward to it.

makerealbany - 2011-01-07 23:36:00

My grandson is living in the Riccarton area grizzly. I worry about that boy. Still hasn't got a job!!!!! I have had some rather heated messages from my Voluntary Organisation because even though I am not on the ESC I still have voting rights as I am an Honarary Life Member. They just had a Meeting and I did not go although I sent a report that was not received very well. Lol. I am gradually phasing out but I will not do any more work for them. They are getting in a bit of a mess already but that is their probelm. Not mine. HA HA. I must admit it is so nice to have more time for other things.

makerealbany - 2011-01-07 23:43:00
3409

All part of the transition for them, I guess. Fancy them having meetings etc at this time of the year! Is there no rest? I think you have made the right decision by the looks of it. You have certainly earned the right to Honarary life membership and it's your choice whether to actively vote or not surely! I had a lazy day yesterday with a rather rushed lunch with daughter as she is really busy. Was a very hot day, every time I sat down to read or knit I dozed off. A lot cooler today.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-08 10:25:00

We went to the beach today and I swam . Did I ever the water was so warm as soon as My daughter came out of the sea I was in. Lol. M just loved the water we had to drag her out to go home. Had a picnic lunch. Miss M and I went home at 4. A took baby J home at 3. He slept in the shade under a net and the umbrella. He was a really good little guy today. He is having some good days now. Fingers crossed!!!!

makerealbany - 2011-01-09 00:25:00
3411

And toes crossed too, for you all. Being really lazy these days, can't seem to find the energy to do much at all.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-09 10:32:00
3412

Being lazy is great grizzly. I went into the house today did 4 loads of washing, minded M for an hour. She had a sleepover with me last night. Then My daughter arrived home with baby J, My DIL arrived for lunch. After lunch I came back to the cottage and dozed on and off all afternoon. My darn legs were giving me hell after all that swimming.Ha ha. Just got back home again about an hour ago so it is bed for me.

We are back working at the shop again each Monday. Start of a new year for us. Shame I haven't done very much knitting to take in.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-10 07:47:00
3414

I have not knitted a thing either grizzly. Went to get my SIL's Warrant for his truck. Did not pass. Blowing smoke needs a new air filter. I was there for an hour. Ah well he will be home in 2 and a half weeks. He can do it then. I wanted to use the truck but cannot now. Drat it. My granddaughter mowed half of the lawns tonight while I pottered in the garden. She could not do the back area because the kids were both asleep. Yippee!!!!!!Two of my grandaughters are staying for a couple of days. J who mowed the lawns now has her feet in my foot spa. She is so grown up.(16) She is a lovely girl. She even brought her own foot salts to try out the foot spa. Lol.

Took the kids to beach today. My legs feel so much better in the water. It was so warm again. Think I might live in the sea in the summertime. M is as brown as a beetle. We cover her in sunblock and she has those swimsuits that cover her neck and the tops of her arms and legs. I swim with her and then we duck under the umbrella or trees.I had 3 granddaughters there with me today. Did not want to get out of the water to come home. It is like another world in the sea. I don't even mind all the sand everywhere when we get home lol.

THose poor people in Queensland!!!! My hearts go out to them all. What is happening to the world, it is becoming very frightening. Did anyone find out why all the birds died and there was fish, too wasn't there?

grizzly4 - 2011-01-12 09:39:00
3417

i am so glad we went to Aussi when we did, i know it was prety wet when we were there, but nothing like it is now, Brisbane was dry when we were there, look at it now, and all those people missing!!!!!!!!, the world has gone mad, whats next............

I've been trying to get news updates on tv and the 'net to find out how they fared overnight but can't find anything thats up to date!

grizzly4 - 2011-01-13 09:26:00
3419

I really have to take the time to read a newspaper or check the news more often.By the time I can relax it is so late. !!!! It is really horrible all the things that are happening around the World. I have been in Queensland at Mackay when it was pouring down and flooding but not like that. I would not drive down the road because I could not see the road as it was covered in Water and that was scary. Yes it is sad all those people missing. The water comes up so quick.

makerealbany - 2011-01-13 23:25:00
3420

I felt really ill watching the horses trying to stay on roof tops on the news the other night. Then on the 'net this morning there is a video of a guy who felt the same way BUT HE WENT OUT AND RESCUED THEM!!!!!! I so wish I could be brave like that. I had a good cry for what he did.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-14 09:51:00
3421

Also the SPCA was flooded and they asked people on high ground to take all the animals from the shelter in and people did, that is soooo cool, all those pets and wild life would have been so scared. We thought we had it bad with the earthquake but this makes me feel quite lucky really.

suzy59nz - 2011-01-14 19:50:00
3422

yep lucky but still nervous!!

Whew! It's a bit warm down here this weekend. Lovely, lovely sunshine, but too hot to do much.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-16 10:16:00

The preparations for my son & DIL's wedding are starting to heat up well and truly. Wedding is 8 July this year. Last weekend it was shoes being organised, this weekend it was the bridesmaid dresses and the flowers being organised as well. DIL is definitely on to it! My job is to get the boys there! Thank goodness I'm not involved in the girly drama on the day. Daughter is one of the bridesmaids so between them all there will be enough panic on the day for me to stay well away from.Haha.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-17 07:41:00
3425

This time next year it will be all go for me too, daughter is getting married March 3rd, already got the service and reception venues booked, so thats half the battle, daughter making bridesmaid dresses, i can see tears and tantrums there but she says she can do it. Then there is my new outfit, what to buy? were to look? weight to loose lol .Good luck for yours, you are my test run lol. I can pick your brains.

Dratted computer has this weird window that keeps popping up after I. ran all the spyware through it last night. Grrrrr! Ran around yesterday trying to match a ball of to finish a wee baby dress to no avail. Decided to keep going anyway last night after going to a waste of time meeting first. Finished it with a scrap of wool left. Yahoo. Having the boys this afternoon and dropping them home after tea. With the weather pretty dodgy, not sure what we can go and do.

grizzly4 - 2011-01-18 08:51:00
3427

Whew it is so hot here even though it has been raining. We all have fans and air conditioners going. I have had a full cottage for a couple of days. My grandson is up with my great grandson who is 7 months. So having 3 little ones to look after is keeping us really busy. My other grandson has also being visiting and so has his sister who is staying in the house. Everywhere I turn there is someone. Lol.

makerealbany - 2011-01-18 23:08:00

Well after 3 days my cottage is very quiet again. Little C my great grandson was a joy to have stay. I am still cleaning the cottage but got all the sheets, towels and duvets washed and dried today. Lovely windy day but still hot. S my grandson had a boot load of xmas pressies to take home for C plus heaps of clothes from his 18 month old uncle. Lol. A also bought him Nappies, baby food, a changing blanket to put on the floor (as C is nearly crawling and he is teething so dribbling everywhere) some Eco bathroom stuff, etc. S has his son quite often so he needs a things for him as we all know. I managed to fill the top water tank last night. Yeepee. Wanted to plant out some plants but ran out of time with the babies. lol. My daughter and other grandson are back from India on Saturday so can't wait to see them.

Another scorcher. Just watching the floods in Australia stopped any complaints I may have contemplated about the weather. All that darn water. Just caught up with things around here this morning and then did the grocery shopping with my daughter and the children. A lot quieter in the supermarket today. I am having the afternoon off tomorrow and going out to visit friends. Garden is looking better after that drop of rain. I have spent the last two hours sorting out tiles for a mosaic mirror. I have to drill holes in the mirror to hang it but the drill has to be charged. Darn it forgot.!!!! Hope you are all ok.

Hi ya smartgirl. I tried to load the photo again in the message but then put it on my Facebook profile page. Lol. Easiest way. Just felt like doing some needlework today so spent an hour on a little teddybear piece. Good for a change. Drizzling here today. Washing machine which is just out of the warranty would not work today. Darn electronics. The guy had to take it away but they lent my daughter a machine until they work out how to repair it. Duh.

You must be on the bottle tonight cause I cant find it anywhere. You will have to try again. Poor grizzly must be so over these earthquakes. When will they ever end. I am knitting a blanket of all things to knit. I must be mad. Then in the middle of it I started a scarf. You have to knit when the inspiration is there, nite nite.

Cheeky girl. S is back next week. I will ring you and give you notice of when I am going to visit Mum. I will stay a night in Hamilton at my Ex SIL. He has been up here minding the teenagers while their Mum was in India. He is like a son to me so will stay there and we can go and have lunch somewhere.

Managed to get into the garden tonight. Had to cut Bamboo and Flax back near driveway as they scratch the cars unless you are careful. Stripped some cabbage trees(what a job) Had sore fingers after. Rang Mum as I am going to visit her next week. No voluntary work though. Hurrah. This will be the first visit without me having to rush to a timetable. I am so looking forward to it. Got another great Mosaic book on TM. Have to sort some knitting to take to Mums. What oh what can I knit now. Maybe I might do something for myself.!!!! But what?

makerealbany - 2011-01-25 23:11:00
3439

Now that sounds like a wonderful problem to solve, you might have to go browsing through patterns! Hi there, I'm back. I. has this genius friend who fixed our computer for a minimal fee, thank goodness. I just need people to email me know so I can add all you all into my contacts. Hint, hint! Holiday Programme is running this week so I'm up at 5.30 each day. Woe is me. Had B5 and L3 for tea last night. Had fish and chips at the park and took the remote control off road trucks. Had a great time although it could have been a bit warmer.

Just been to the casino for my 20th wedding anniversary, never been befor, meal was lovely and under $100 for 5 of us. Didn't gamble much as i really hate wasting money, spent $15 lol, last of the big spenders, found the slots boring so sat at a table and spun a wheel. that was fun, but when i lost the $15 it was time to stop.So many elderly people sat at the slots putting money in , i found that incredible and also sad. Probably wont go again for a year , my money takes too much earning to just flitter away.

3441

Cool grizzly. I will email you. Just coloured my hair after spending some time in the garden. I prefer the night because it is so cool. It gets dark too darn quick though Lol. Going to get a haircut in the morning. Yay. My SIL is home so I have some free time. Yeepee. You can tell I am excited about that. M was like a little limpid mine clinging to her Daddy's neck tonight. She talked to him all the way home from the airport. The news is not getting any better is it?. That poor woman in the Waikato, then the court case for that rotten man who killed that innocent baby, the floods, earthquake and so it goes on. I almost wish I had not watched the news.

makerealbany - 2011-01-26 23:45:00

I know what you mean about the Casino Suzy. I went about 2 years ago I think. I was shocked at the money people lose. I also could not stand all the darn noise. Glad you enjoyed your dinner though. A belated Happy Anniversary.

I have survived the week of really long hours and being really grumpy in the evenings (and so did I. ) and things going wrong with modern technology. Hopefully back to normal this week, fingers crossed. The down part of this week will be a dentist appointment on Friday to have the broken tooth fixed permanently. I'm not worried about the procedure as much as the price!

I had a really productive day yesterday. Actually found time to make the rhubarb and ginger jam that I planned to do during my holidays and never did. Well worth the wait plus got all the housework done including all the handprints on the windows from the boys visit on Saturday. What is it with kids touching the windows??!! I even repotted a house plant and dead headed roses! I was reall on to it yesterday, today well I feel really lazy, going to the shop this morning 'cos I have finished a blanket and a prem jacket to take in but then I have the afternoon off. Yippee, it will be shared between my book and my cross stitch!
