I think I will make a bath mat using the same technique next. It will be a fun thing to do tomorrow if the predicted snow eventuates:o)

Welcome back Liz you have been very busy.
I sat on my butt all day watched a movie and did my crochet, was a nice day to just blob with my doggy..

Sounds very cosy at your place liz. I am fighting to put borders on the wonky star quilt. Soooo many points to get right! Only one side to go now...then probably and outer border and the quilting.

Coalie, I'm fine thank you for your concern. I have been overdoing things & just needed a day away from the machine. Left still hasn't healed completely & at times a right royal pain in the a***. I did get back on the machine this morning at 5.30am & had a play with left over strips from the blue & green top. I am seeing how easy it is to do a Bargello, from the small test piece I think it might be a goer. Still snowing, flakes are getting bigger as the day goes on.

yes coalie got a small bernina (needed one for grandie for xmas) and has a gaurantee etc with it. an 807.... Will keep looking for a 830 or 730 for me though but will use this one while my other one goes in for repairs then sell it.
Enjoyed my day away from home. was so nice to get out and about.
Jugs on for coffees all round help yourself.
Snow looks awesome wee but you can honestly keep it. hehehehehee
Liz sounds like you have the right idea in keeping cozy.

coallie that quilt is awesome, the colours & thelight & dark shading just blows me away. We have had a day hiding in the craftyoffice as it is the easiest room to keep heated. Snow still falling.

thanks for lovely comments about the quilt, i remembered that i had done a bargello before that one, i saw one in the quilt shop window and copied it, the lovely lady that had made it told me it was 1 and half inch squares soooo silly me cut the squares that size forgetting about seam allowance oops lol, anyway heres pic

ooooh exciting. We went for a walk down the road to the supermareket. my ankle hurts soooo bad as I only took 1 crutch with me. but the post shop was open so I could FINALLY pick up the parcel I had a card to call left for on Sat! My cover button samples from China!. Am looking into importing some, for personal use and for resale of both the blanks and premade buttons.

I've had a good dyeing morning and have got another 10 metres of cotton in the machine to be ready for dyeing. It's such good fun...but what are the odds of wearing two pairs of rubber gloves and the same finger on both pairs had a leak? My middle 'give it to them' finger is now green. Oh well...I suppose I'll just have to stop picking my nose eh?......

coallie that latest qult is another truely awesome work of art. How many quilts have you made since this Thread began? Been out in the snow this morning DH had to go to Doc's for his insulin script as we couldn't get there yesterday. It was so lovely hardly any cars on the road & the supermarket was almost empty.
